Unknown to the three fillies spending a night in Scootaloo's home, twigs and branches of a felled timberwolf begin to re-animate, however the newly born timberwolf seems a lot smaller than before.

As it awakens it has a nagging feeling that something is not quite right, it's magic seems different somehow, like someone else's latent magic is mingling with its own, creating something, new.
