Hyper and Calm

You didn't go straight home after the Space Needle, you decided to walk around for a bit as both Fluttershy and Pinkie seemed happy to see more of the large city. They were amazed by the expansive part of the park near the Space Needle, though the extremely cold air of the west coast made it difficult for Fluttershy to continue. You totally forgot that October weather in Seattle was brutal, both cold and nippy.

"W-wow I never knew it would be this cold!" Pinkie says giggling as she shivers a bit.

"Sorry, I guess I forgot that it gets cold during this time of year. Anyway if you guys want we could stop and go home or go to a coffee shop or something. It ain't gonna get warmer today." You mentioned

"Um coffee might taste good, please lead the way." Fluttershy says smiling you nodded and walked with the girls towards your car, Seattle will only get colder with the day's passing and even then the freezing cold rain coming next week won't help either. Though this week would be busy one, for one it would be Halloween.

Setting up the decor of the house, along with the candy you'd have to buy later. You wouldn't say it's a pain but seeing as you'd have to go to later on during Halloween to give a party to a bunch of costumed adults would be entertaining.

Both with you in costume and seeing the cute naughty nurses, and schoolgirls would be a plus. Then there's the annual flirting with Kiki, mostly likely try to tempt you with whatever costume she'd wear for the night.

Last year was catwomen, the year before that was a naughty nurse. And it just became scantly clad every year before that, though Kiki hitting on you would be a problem nothing beyond that would happen.

Though after Halloween you'd have to meet your folks again for a Thanksgiving and that means seeing your family. To your grandma and grandpa, and even your baby sister who just started the third grade.

The more you thought about your family, the more anxious you became.

"Anthony? Are you okay? You've been standing next to your car for a few minutes now." Fluttershy pointed as you shook your head and let out an awkward laugh.

"S-sorry I was just doing some thinking is all, uh girls ya know how I told you about Halloween? Well it's next weekend and well I sorta need your help putting up decorations, i wanna go for a sorta scary but not too scary trick or treating theme. Any ideas?" Pinkie instantly lite up like a light bulb.

"How about abandon hospital theme, or a scary forest!" Pinkie happily shouts smiling

"O-or maybe a nice quiet evening with us in the bathroom." Fluttershy interjects shyly.

"Are you okay Shy, are you not into Halloween like Pinkie?" Fluttershy shook her head.

"N-no I usually stay in my home and my animals friends protected me." You were confused by the animals friend part, was she a furry or something else entirely. Though you couldn't tell she's mysterious as all hell, mostly because she's too shy to say a damn thing.

"Well maybe you can stay in my room with Malcolm and I'll try to recreate what you have back in your old house." Smiling Fluttershy nods, her smile bright as Pinkie sighed.

"So no trick or treating?" She asked with a whine.

"I mean, we could go trick or treating. But aren't you a little old for that?" You asked

"Too old for candy?! Are you loco in the coco?! No one's ever too old for candy!"

"Right, well I guess we could do a little trick or treating. I could have Flora or Star hand out candy back at my house, that's if they're free from their shift." Entering your car you turned on the heater as a resounding ahh came from your passengers.

"So toasty!" Pinkie says with a sigh as she gets closer to the heater in the front of the car.

"Mm hmm it reminds me so much of snuggling up close to fireplace and reading a book." Fluttershy said with a soft hum.

"That's good to hear, sometimes I wished I could stay in one place and actually read a book. Though I'm not really a big book reader." You say with a sigh.

"Why don't we go to a bookstore? We could pick a book for all of us to read, like a little book club." Fluttershy says with a cheery smile.

"Yeah! Let's do that! It'll be super fun!" Pinkie pumped her fist, her smile large. You nod and look at your phone, and began typing nearby bookstores. You smiled to yourself as you began driving towards the store.

Later...

The three of you entered the bookstore, it was one of those huge three story tall bookstores. There college kids around either typing in their laptops, or just studying. You felt a tense feeling of déjà vu, it reminded you so much about the time spent in college, the time spent reading books, the time spent forging friendships, and the time spent burning bridges.

You let out a shallow sigh, you walked towards the adult books. You wanted to find a book that'll let you forget your time around school. Your fingers glided through the spines of the books before stopping at the end of the shelf.

"A Clockwork Orange?" Taking out the book you read the back cover, the book was so different. As you continued skimming the lines you smiled and nodded.

Turning from the bookshelf you walked downstairs and stopped near the lobby. You waited for a bit as you read a bit of the first chapter.

A few minutes later...

You got to chapter two both Pinkie and Fluttershy arrived with books of their own.

Fluttershy had two books, Alice in Wonderland and Alice Through the Looking Glass.

Pinkie on the other hand had a lot of children's books. Cat in the Hat, Hop on Pop, and Where the Wild things are. Just to name a few, Pinkie's smile was large almost if she was eager to get to ready.

"Let's go!" Pinkie smiles as she walks up towards the front desk, she placed down her books as well as Fluttershy and your own book.

"Reading books huh? You really see that nowadays, anyway a lot of good choices." The woman behind the counter smiled as you nodded.

"Yeah, we decided to start a little book club. Ya know mix things up." She nods as she begins typing in the total.

"Hopefully the idea of a book club is a good one." You say with a sigh.
