//-------------------------------------------------------// Ponies in my Middle School -by Megasis101- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// My Typical Life as a Pegasister //-------------------------------------------------------// My Typical Life as a Pegasister      I was running as fast as my legs would carry me. No way was I going to be late for language arts again! I swear, my orchestra teacher never gives us any time to pack up! How long does he think it takes to scramble through a crowd of noisy kids in a tiny room, getting your violin case out of the cage, putting your violin in the case neatly, putting it back in the cage and putting your stand away? There's some things I don't like about Crescent Moon Middle School. For example, my orchestra teacher being a whack job! Oh, I'm sorry, forgot to introduce myself. My name is Jessica Thompson, and I am a Pegasister, just a few kids at school pick on me for being one. Do they not know how enjoyable, how amazing and how EPIC it is? Obviously not.        The only person who actually understands me is my theatre teacher, Ms. Peach. What she said to me on the first day of sixth grade, I could always remember. "I know you said to bring in something like a poster or something so I got the only poster I had." I lied, I had literally tons of My Little Pony posters, I just wanted to make excuse and not be a geek. "You know, I know a few kids in the neighborhood who loves ponies, too, they're the exact age as you." I remember her saying, "Really?" I said. "Yes." She answered. She hung up the poster and that's all I could remember. Since I wanted to take theatre in seventh grade, too, she left it up. I checked it every day to see if there were any rips or writing on it. None so far. Instead, underneath it was a spectacular drawing of Octavia. At least I know there's at least one brony in my school.          People don't usually bully me for being a Pegasister. They usually just ask questions like, "Why is your notebook decorated with unicorns? Do you really have to put pony stickers on your locker? I really love your drawings, but why ponies? Bla bla bla bla bla!" The only person who has a "problem" with it is Angelene Dreiner. Ugh! Even talking about her makes me nauseous. I was her friend in elementary school and she got nastier every year. Well, accually she was nasty the whole time, I just didn't see it. She'd force me to hang out with her so I can't play with my real friends. By the time I got to sixth grade in middle school, I thought she changed, but I was wrong. I only see her in gym, first period which is the worst because she comes to me before school starts. I call her Angle Bunny because she acts just like Angle when he's angry or snotty. In sixth grade, I asked her if she's heard of My Little Pony. She said no and I told her about it. When she heard enough, she snapped at me and said that I'm a baby. She gossiped about me only to my friend who believes me, Diane Cook. She never watched it but she knew that if I loved something, it was for a good reason. I don't get it! She's never seen it, and she's judging it! So it has colorful ponies, SO WHAT?! I've never got the gutts to tell her how I feel about her. I'm too scared. But someday, someday I will prove to her just what ponies are about! //-------------------------------------------------------// Wait.....FLUTTERSHY? //-------------------------------------------------------// Wait.....FLUTTERSHY?         I was in the presence of boredom itself...Math class. Ugh! Stupid math, so help me math will wish it was never born once I came face to face with it. I put my backpack on the edge of my chair and lay my head sideways on my desk. "Attention class," everyone looked as we saw the teacher by the door. "We have a new student this year," we were surprised, Mrs. Headley would never introduce a new student, she'd just have him take a seat and treated him like he was just a student, but no! She actually stood up and INTRODUCED them? "She's a bit....different than most so...just treat her like a good student, ok?" Every one nodded. I just kept my head tilted sideways for a while and then lay my chin on my desk so I was positioned near the front. I didn't really care that much about new people, I just go with the.... I heard gasps of confusion spread across the room. I was immediately alerted and shot my head up. And a gasp slipped from my mouth, too. A pony, A PONY! An..and she was SO familiar, too. Pink mane, yellow body, cute gleaming turquoise eyes... YES! It was just too awesome to realize or experience in a young Pegasisters life EVER! This time my glee was replaced from utter shock. It was FLUTTERSHY! FLUTTERSHY! In this very room!         Big, dark-framed glasses appeared over her eyes. She looked dawn and shuffled a hoof trying to get out of her mind that everyone was watching her, or in her case, everyPONY. My mouth hung....two words....WIDE. OPEN. The yellow pony shifted her hooves back in forth to the front. She tried not to make eye contact with anyone as she passed.          I cannot tell you how incredible this is! Ha! Best. Math class. In the history. Of EVER! I didn't know if I should say hi or go up and hug her to death which would really either freak her out or not to mention embarrass me. But still. She was there! I have no idea how, but she was THERE! She was ACTUALLY THERE!           She finally reached the front of the room. "H-Hellllo there." Low mutters came from her mouth. "I'm, uh, Fluttershy, and.." She gulped. "I hope to enjoy a-a good year with you...a very.... Nice...year." She hung her head low as she looked around. The expressions on everyone's faces made it look to her as if she did something wrong. She whimpered and trotted back to her seat, which, oh my gosh, was right next to me! ~~~ Ok, Jess, this is your chance. Fluttershy's right down the hall, don't mess up. I took a big gulp and started walking toward her. Why couldn't it just be Pinkie Pie or something? Fluttershy is...shy. This was going to be hard. I was closer to her. "Hi." I finally said. Right as I said it, she spun her head around and tripped over her hooves. She got back up and kept her distance from me as she backed up. I cleared my throat. "Um, I'm Jessica Thompson." You know that weird feeling that it seems so awkward introducing yourself? I was having that feeling. "I'm, uh, Fluttershy." She muttered. I knew that. "Do you...do you want to be..friends?" Yup, there's the weird feeling again. She shifted her head down. "Ok," she whispered. "So... I'll see you tomorrow, I guess." I walked down the hall and saw her close her locker behind me. That was awkward, but easier than I thought. //-------------------------------------------------------// The Element of Kindness //-------------------------------------------------------// The Element of Kindness         Well, I finally made it to language arts, I had to get extra homework for it though. The bell rung and I made it out of the class room. I looked around the hall and saw Diane coming out of her math class with her head down. I ran to her. "Hey, Diane! How's it going?" I asked. I couldn't see her face. She didn't look up. "Hey, is everything ok?" I asked. She looked up to me in tears. She looked completely heart broken. "I-I failed another test." She said stuttering. "I-It was way too hard for me a-and I couldn't figure out any of the answer. I never listened i-in sixth grade and the test was based off of what they learned there. I was wrong to not listen in class. How could I be so stupid!" "Hey, Diane!" I pulled her at the side of the hall and crouched to her eye level. "You are not stupid! Just because you didn't listen last year doesn't mean your not smart. You are a very smart girl! If anyone thinks less of you, don't listen to them because you are the smartest friend I know." She wiped a tear off her eye. "Thanks, Jess. That meant a lot to me." She hugged me. "Bye, Jessica." I stood there for a moment and watched her run to her next class.          I turned around and started walking. I was almost to my next class until I heard something behind me. I couldn't really make out the sound. More like metal or something. No, it sounded lighter then metal. Plastic? Crystal? I searched the floor. I couldn't see anything. I just decided to ignore it. I turned around and as I did, something in front of me glared. I walked towards it and squinted, trying to see what it was. I crouched down and picked it up. I examined it on my way to my next class. It looked like a shard. It was a pink butterfly. It looked very fimiliar. It wasn't plastic, and it looked rare. Was it a charm to a bracelet? I stuffed it in the pocket of my backpack. I headed to math, my last period of the day. ➰        I made it home and walked in through the door. "Mom! I'm home!" I dragged my backpack upstairs and lifted the heavy backpack onto my desk. I opened the zipper and pulled out a folder with my homework including the extra homework I had to do. I sat down at the desk with a pencil and started it. By the time I was done with my language arts homework, I unzipped my backpack and pulled out my math homework. As I pulled it out, it saw the pink butterfly shard. I set the homework on my desk and examined it. What was it? Where did it come from? It looked exactly like, like, Fluttershy's element of harmony? Boy, I watch that show way too much! It could be anything. There's plenty of charms and keychains at school that would look like this. I found a small box in my desk. I placed the butterfly in there for safe keeping.
