But no reply came to her plea and she pawed at the empty spot in the bed next to her.  With a sigh the dark reddish brown mare slowly removed herself from her fluffy nest of pillows and sheets, and trotted toward the door of the room, not seeming to care about her messy caramel orange mane. As she tiredly opened the door a sweet delicious aroma flooded her nose and she absentmindedly licked her lips. Trotting down the stairs she finally made her way to the kitchen. “G’mornin ‘darlin.” Chocolate Mint cheered happily as his marefriend sat down at the table. “Didja sleep well?” he asked. Stick gave a lazy nod, mumbling something incoherent.  The chocolate coated, short mint manned stallion simply smile a pushed a plate of pancakes toward her, taking a side on the opposite side of the table and beginning to eat from his own plate. “Sweetie Pies going to be coming over tomorrow to help out with the annual Dodge City bake sale, so well need to clean up the guest room.” “Ill go get some new sheets, the old ones are torn and much too dirty.” Stick announced, whipping the crumps off of her mouth as she finished her breakfast. “Can you clean up the room while Im out, I have some things to do and I think I saw a couple spiders in that room.” She shuttered, Stick had never been the biggest fan of small creepy crawlies. Mint simply laughed, nodding, he could never figure out why his marefriend hated bugs, to him they were quite adorable. “I only live to serve my dear!” He said, doing a dramatic bow, Stick snorted loudly, trying to stifle her giggles. “Oh you, try not to burn down the house! We sell food here!” the mare joked, as she grabbed her bugs, slung them over her back and trotted to the front door. As she left she took a look at the outside of her house –err- bakery. Yes it is true, Cinnamon Stick and her coltfriend Chocolate Mint lived in a bakery that doubled as a house. It seems odd and stupid doesn’t it? Well no, in fact, by living in the bakery the two lovers found themselves having an easier time. By living there they didn’t have to pay for a house and a bakery, only one, and they could start work faster and earlier (Though today was the day before the big bake sale and they were closed)since they could just get up, get cleaned up, eat and then BAM! They could work right at home! It was pure genius in the couple’s eyes, pure, utter genius! Though Cinnamon and Chocolate were very humble earth ponies, so they dared not gloat. Stick shook herself out of her thoughts and started off through the town, as she walked through the rural town, down the dusty roads, she came across Lightning Ranger, a midnight blue pegasi mare with a short manned mare who was the cities weather manager and was a very respectable type of pony with one hell of a temper when she was angered. “Good morning Lightning!” Stick called to the mare. “Lovely day Cinnamon! How`s your day? Any news on me being a godmother?” the pegasi joked, causing the mare in question to flush a bright red. “Lightning! Please! Don`t say things like that! Or you are not going to be a godmother IF I have a child!” Stick huffed, her feelings mixed happiness and annoyance. Lightning laughed full-heartedly. “Oh come on Sticky! I`m just pulling your leg!” Lightning said, laughing her flank off and almost falling out of the air. “It`s not that funny…” Stick mumbled, rolling her eyes.  “Now I have to go now. Good-bye Ranger.” She said, trotting off. Lightning shouted something but Stick had missed it. Still, Stick couldn’t help smiling, Ranger was the first pony she met in Dodge City and her best friend. She had even introduced her to Chocolate Mint! Well, actually Lightning had introduced her to Mints sister, Sweetie Pie who in turn had brought Stick and Mint together. Finally, Cinnamon had made her way to the sheets store, it was an old store run by a nice old unicorn mare named Stitched Pattern. Pattern was the entire towns grandmother, well not really but she never turned a blind eye to anypony in need, even if they didn’t deserve it. “Ahh Cinnamon dear! Welcome, what may I do for you?” the faded pastel pink mare that was Stitched Pattern ask as Stick walked into the store, Pattern played with her long grey red mane. “Oh Im just shopping for some new sheets, Pies staying over for the bake sale and she`ll be here for two weeks and the sheets in the guest room are way too old to use.” Stick answered, looking over the sales items. “Do you have any checkered patterns?” she asked. Pattern nodded. “Over here dear.” She said, leading Cinnamon to a couple checkered sheets.  “These fit your fancy.” “Oh yes! This one right here please.” Stick said, pointing to a classic black and white pattern. “A classic, eh? Well then let`s ring it up!” Pattern said smiling. “I`m home!” Stick announced as she opened the door to the bakery, not only had she gotten some new sheets, but some new baking supplies. “Cinny! It`s been so long!” Sweetie Pie squealed, running up to Cinnamon and hugged her tightly. Pie was a light pink mare with a fluffy curly grey purple mane. “Sweets? What are you doing here?! I thought you`d be here tomorrow morning!” Stick said, smiling happily. “Sissy decided to come early.” Mints voice came from upstairs. “Welcome home dear, did you get the sheets?” “Yup, I did.” Cinnamon said, “Come on Sweets, since you`re here how about you help make your bed?”  Sweetie nodded and the two mares walked up the stairs. “Now let me tell you about this new pony that came to ponyvile!” Sweetie said.
