Murderous Intent

Dragons are dangerous. Flesh eating, treasure hoarding, arrogant, fire breathing monsters. I can't rid the world of them, I'm just one pony, but I can keep them away from pony society.

Many years ago, our beloved princess hatched one and raised it like a child. Does she not know the dangers? She probably does, but is too blinded by its small size to realize it.

Months of planning have gone into this moment. I made a lot of shifty deals with some royal guards to tell me of Princess Sparkle's activities. I was the only thing that held this plan together. When word reached my ear that her dragon would be going to Ponyville for business alone, I released the string and allowed everything to fall into place.

I had prepared a work space in the crystal caves beneath the castle to put an end to that demon's existence.

"L-let me go!" The dragon squeaked, pulling on his bindings, tears flowing freely down his face.

I leaned over the dragon and whispered, "You don't belong. You're a monster and you'll turn into an even bigger monster in the years to come. You're too dangerous."

"D-dangerous? I haven't done anything to anypony! I would never hurt my friends!"

I put my hoof against my head and began laughing maniacally, "You will eventually! Dragons have a certain reputation that causes others to fear them." I walked over to the other side of the cave and turned, "I am going to make you suffer for all that you'll do in the-" I was interrupted by a burning pain in my side,

"Urk..." I looked straight ahead and saw that the table was scorched and the leather straps were burned away. How could I have been so foolish as to overlook this possibility. The dragon wasn't on the table but below my line of sight, with his fist placed against my side. He pulled away and a knife, clenched in his claws, came out with it. He had just stabbed me.

"Y-you... gwaaahhhh!" I put my hoof up to my side and could feel something slippery poking through the hole. It was wet, slippery, and reminded me of a hose. I shuddered and dared not to look. I instead focused my gaze on the backside of the dragon as he ran.

Drip... drip... drip...

That little rat. He got me when I wasn't looking. I'm losing blood, fast. I looked down and moved my hoof off of the deep red stain on my side. Heh, I was careless. I didn't think he'd fight back. I continued limping my way through the crystal-lined caves. I know he's here. He hasn't escaped yet.

"You'll never find your way out of here, little one!" I shouted, "These caves were made so that ponies could disappear with ease." I felt a sudden chill and dizziness as anemia began set in. I've got to find him.

I took a few more steps and suddenly lost my footing, I reached out to brace my fall, but the blood on my hooves made the ground very slick and I still fell on my side, hard.

I screamed.

There's an open wound there from where he stabbed me. That dragon's going to pay for this. I'm doing the world a great justice by ridding it of another beast.

"You'll pay for this! I swear to Celestia I'm going to kill you! This is why you must die! You're too dangerous to keep alive!" I used my pain to let out my anger.

I shakily got up and continued on. I could hear the little patter of feet on the floor. He's near and I'll do to him what he has done to me.

It wasn't more than a minute later that I could see a small purple figure no more than twenty feet from me. He must've got turned around while searching for a way out. A bloodied smile cracked my lips,

"T-t-there you are. I've fi-finally... f-f-f-found you." I panted raggedly. My body has become very cold and tired but I can't give up now. I have to push on for just a little bit longer. I'm so close.

Upon hearing my voice, the dragon instantly froze in fear. He turned to face me with the most frightened look in his eyes. Every step that I took towards him, he took a step away until he backed into a wall.

"Twilight!" He cried.

"S-she's not c-c-coming to sa-a-ve you," I chuckled, ignoring the pain, "She d-d-doesn't expect you t-t-to return for another t-two d-days."

My legs began trembling and soon gave out on me. I fell to the ground in pathetic lump. I shakily lifted my head and looked at my target with blurred vision and began to crawl my way towards him, the blood all over my coat allowed me to slide across the floor with ease. I could feel my intestine gripping the floor and being pulled out bit by bit as I dragged my body.

The pain was unbearable. I'm going to die but I can't die. Not yet at least. Not when I'm so close. Dragons have no place in pony society. If I'm going to die, I want to make sure I die with my life goal completed.

Our eyes met and I reached out for him. I was just inches away from that dragon's neck. I could hardly summon enough strength to keep my foreleg extended and my breaths became very shallow.

"I'm going to kill you... I... Swear to..." My breaths became shorter and shorter as I slowly faded into darkness.
