Luna on the Moon
A few days after Luna/Nightmare Moon was banished to the moon for 1,000 years, she finds herself bored and explores the rock she is on. Luna is not in her Nightmare Moon form, she is in her normal form. Nightmare decided to save her power until they can return to Equestria. She still talks to Luna through her thoughts.
"What are you going to do? Just sit here? You're pathetic." said Nightmare.
Luna replied,"I will sit here until I can return to my sister."
After a few more minutes Nightmare spoke again,"I'm bored, go somewhere."
"We wouldn't be in this mess if you would've just raised the moon!"
"It wasn't my fault you were jealous of your sister!"
"Oooh. Good point." Luna stood up,"What else do you think is on this thing?"
"Hopefully a fire, I'm freezing my horn off."
"How could you be freezing? You're in my head. I should be the one to be freezing. Brrrrr! Which I am."
"Okay, just go somewhere besides this spot. I'm losing my mind right now."
"Fine."
Luna took a few steps and she still can't get used to the weak pull of gravity the moon had but, she enjoyed it. Luna was doing some acrobatics in the air and laughed while she did it. A few craters away from Luna lay two creatures. One of them was light-green, the other was a darker shade of green. They had two antennae on top of their heads and were wearing a suit of some sort. It was silver and had all sorts of colored buttons on it. They were talking to each other.
"What kind of thing do you think that is?" the light-green creature asked.
"I don't know Z-1. Go ask it."
"I'm not sure about that Z-2."
"We traveled millions of light-years to study these....these ponies. One of them just happens to be here and you're not going to speak to it. I'll go."
"Good luck."
Z-2 was beginning to ascend out of the crater and he saw Luna prancing merrily, then sank back down into the crater,"You go."
"Come on you big sissy."
"It's so cute, I'm nervous."
"Fine I'll go." Z-1 said. He rose from the crater and said,"Where'd she go?"
"What? She's gone? Lemme see." Z-2 went beside his sister.
They were trying to find her, she completely disappeared.
"Where would it go?"
They continued to scan the surface and suddenly they heard a voice behind them,"OH MY GOSH IT'S SO CUTE!!"
Z-1 and Z-2 both screamed out of fright,"AHH!"
Z-2 attempted to talk to Luna. Attempted."We are here to-"
Luna grabbed hold of him and started to hug him, he squeaked,"EEEEE!! IT'S SO SQUISHY!" she continued to squeak Z-2.
"Let*SQUEAK* ME GO!" Z-2 cried.
"Oh my. Sorry." Luna dropped Z-2.
"Owww." he groaned.
Z-1 walked over him and introduced herself,"Greetings. My name is Z-1" She reached over with her arm expecting to shake.
"Ahh! What is that?" Luna shouted.
"This?" Z-1 looked at her body and saw nothing unusual, she looked back at Luna and saw that she was looking at her arm,"Oh it's just my arm. On the ends, those long green things, those are my fingers."
"What are you trying to do?"
"Trying to shake hands."
"Is it like a hoofshake?"
"Hoof?"
"These." Luna held up her hooves,"What we do in Equestria is this." Luna demonstrated a hoofshake with her own. She made them touch and moved them with a shaking motion,"Like that."
"I see." Z-1 clenched her fist and reached out to Luna, they shook.
"Say what are you?" Luna asked.
Z-1 answered,"I'm Z-1, the one you almost hugged to death is my brother Z-2. On our home planet we are known as Trezigors, we live on the planet Xegous(z-gis). What are you?"
"My name is Princess Luna and my race is known as alicorns. There are unicorns, earth ponies, and Pegasus too."
"A princess? You're royalty?"
"Yes. I ruled along my sister."
"Ruled?"
"I been here for a few days and supposed to stay here for another 1,000 years."
"Why?"
"Some crazy stuff happened. Why are you here........Z.....Z-1?"
"We are here to study your species. Our planet wants to further our knowledge about many worlds hat contain sentient life."
"How did you get here."
"Our spaceship. Would you like to see it?"
"Sure."
Z-1 carried Z-2 and Luna followed behind. A few craters away there was a silver saucer in one of the craters. It was shiny like Z-1's and Z-2's suits. It had a glass compartment at they top in the center.
"I'll show you inside."
They went under the silver saucer and a door opened. Smoke came out. Luna walked in slowly, she didn't know what to expect. After she entered the ship she saw Z-1 drop her brother right on his head,on the floor,"Ow! That hurts you know!"
"Good. Princess what do you think?"
"It's........it's different."
Luna saw buttons, levers, switches, multi-colored lights, etc. What stood out to her the most was two glass tubes in the back. "What're those?"
Z-2 answered,"Those are cryo-tubes. They put us in a deep sleep when we have to travel light-years to reach our destination."
"What's a light-year?" the princess asked.
"9.5 .....trillion kilometers I think. Is that right Z-1?" Z-1 was messing with some controls at a panel.
"I think so." she replied.
"Question, if it is a light-year then why is it that you say kilometers? The last time I checked years is a unit of time."
"Some things are just so far away that your can't measure in distance so, you measure it in time."
"Ah."
"Light is the fastest traveling thing in the universe any where. It travels at 300,000 kilometers per second."
Luna wasn't paying attention, she went to Z-1. Z-2 was frustrated but didn't care. She was new to the technology around and she wanted to explore the ship.
"What's this?" Luna looked at different objects.
"It measures the level of oxygen in the ship." Z-1 was answering the princess' questions.
"This?"
"Experimental room. Don't go in there."
"What's in their?"
"A robot we are trying to perfect that looks like one of your winged races."
"A Pegasus. Can I see?"
"Yes it is a Pegasus. I'll show you."
"I wouldn't do that sister."
"Z-2 you need to lighten up. Come on I'll open the doors."
The doors opened, in the center of the room was a gray Pegasus. It had a pale yellow mane and tail. It also had crossed-eyes. The cutie mark was bubbles.
"Wow, it looks so real." exclaimed Luna.
"It's supposed to look real. We noticed that everyone on your planet has a significant mark on the rear of their body."
"Cutie marks. What do the bubbles mean?"
"I have no idea, we just came up with it last minute."
"What is it called?"
"We call it D.E.R.P.Y. Different. Efficient. Roaming. Pegasus. Younit. We haven't got the voice to work yet."
"Don't you know that unit starts with a "u" not a "y"."
"Yeah but, we ran out of words."
Z-2 walked in the room to join in on the conversation,"We have uploaded all the words spoken on your planet and uploaded them into D.E.R.P.Y's internal dictionary. Still the voice doesn't work."
Luna asked,"Can you turn it on?"
"Sure." replied Z-1."Their was a small hatch at the bottom of D.E.R.P.Y and it contained a switch she flipped it. D.E.R.P.Y started to smoke up. It was jumping up and down, it's wings was flapping like crazy. The wires it was hooked up on became loose and broke off.
"I just don't know went wrong." Z-1 said.
Z-2 shut down D.E.R.P.Y by shooting a laser at it. The laser was equipped with EMP rounds designed to shut down electronics. D.E.R.P.Y stopped moving but kept repeating,"I just don't know what went wrong." Over and over again. Then it later shut down completely.
Z-1 said,"That was a good first test run."
"That......was AWESOME! When will it be finished?" Luna yelled.
"We need to fix the entire thing. We don't have the supplies to here so we have to go back home." Z-2 said.
Luna replied,"Now?"
"Yes we are short on food supplies anyways. You are welcome to join us Luna." Z-1 said.
Luna was deciding between going to an unknown planet or to stay and watch Equestria from the moon.
"Bye!" Luna pranced out the ship.
"That was quicker than I expected. Well, let's get going."
Luna got out of the crater and turned back to the ship. She saw the two green creatures sitting in the glass compartment at the center of the ship. They were waving so Luna waved back. The ship left the moon. Luna was prancing back to the spot where she sat at.
"Why did you leave Luna? We could have used the D.E.R.P.Y to take over Equestria when we returned."
"That's is your dream. My dream is to be back with my sister."
Luna went back to her spot and sat down. She was trying to catch some rest.
"Brrrrrrrrr!! I'm still cold."
