The Ponyville Paint War of 2013
The quiet stillness of the small town could send a chill down ones back. Not a single person could be seen all hiding, waiting for the right moment to strike. It already been a rough day it all started when Rainbow Dash bet Applejack that she wouldn’t lasted ten seconds against her in a game of paintball. It all spiraled out of control from there. Even when Celestia, Luna, and the newly reformed Discord arrived on the scene no one let up all going into a heated war.
In mere moments the whole town was thrust into a paintball war. Naturally the CMC was the first one to be shot down by Spike and his two paintball Uzis. Big Mac was unable to find a place big enough to hide his body and got slugged by a flurry of paintballs. Vinyl and Octavia squared off and in the end got surprised attack by Derpy who was a real good shot.
As the day continued more and more fell victim to each other attacks. It all came down to three: Spike the dragon hybrid of Ponyville, Rainbow Dash the fastest sky-bond in Equestria, and Applejack the farm girl that refused to lose.
Spike find a good spot near Everfree in same brushes that matched his green spiky hair. Thanks to his draconic bloodline Spike could see much farther than any other human on top of that he also had a faster reaction time than most humans giving him an advantage.
Rainbow Dash was on top of a cloud high in the sky, she has managed to take down most of Ponyville without breaking a sweat. However, Pinkie Pie prove to be a tough challenge with her use to mini paintball guns it was only thanks to Twilight that anyone was able to take her down and Rainbow thanked her by shooting her in the back, literally.
Applejack was hiding behind a turned over table in front of a building. The day was much more trouble than she thought is was going to be she didn’t guess that Pinkie would get the whole town into such a thing. And now it was down to the last two people she wanted to be. Rainbow was way too fast in the air and she could make a move at any moment and Spike was a quick thinker changing his tactics in the middle of a shootout. Applejack was going have to rely on the element of surprise if she was going to have and chances.
A deafening silent the only sound that could be heard was the blowing of the wind. Sweat dripped down all three forehead anticipation thick in the air. Even with the cloud Spike could faintly see Rainbow ducking behind it. He know that he had to take her down first or he’ll be next. Slowly moving to get a better shot, Spike decided to throw the overconfident sky-bond girl off her game.
“Hey! Rainbow Dash! What do I get if I win?” Spike shouted throwing his voice around so he wouldn’t be found.
Rainbow knew that Spike could see her, but she needed him to keep telling so she could find him. “Well, if you win then I’ll go on a date with you anyplace off your choice! How’s that sound?” Rainbow offered.
Spike smiled as he had a clear shot, “Perfect…” He pulled a sniper rifle that he took from Fluttershy after she back out of the game. Aiming down the sights he place the crosshairs on the cloud he knew Rainbow was on.
“What you think AJ? If Spike wins we both have to take him on a date.” Rainbow told the silent farm girl.
“That’s if the feller wins.” Applejack called back.
The three knew that the game was going to end soon and someone was going to make a move. Spikes finger laid on the trigger any moment he could end his biggest competition. Rainbow could feel Spike staring her down and decided to make her move.
She rolled off the cloud and sapped open her wings quickly getting away from Spike’s sights, but giving Applejack the opportunity she have been waiting for as she opened fire on the speeding sky-bond. Rainbow Dash easily dodged all of the shots and duck behind another cloud.
See this as an opportunity aimed his sights at Applejack not hesitating for a second he pulled the trigger and got Applejack in the shoulder. Casing underneath her breath Applejack sighed in defeat and walked off to get clean up for her date with Spike.
“That one cow-girl down one athletic girl to go.” Spike said as he quickly move to find a better angle on Rainbow Dash.
“Darn it Applejack you was supposed to lose to me.” Rainbow Dash said under her breath. She stopped Spike moving away from cover and decided to get some revenge for messing up her plans to score a date with the farm girl.
“Eat paint dragon-boy!” Rainbow shouted on the top of her lungs. Paintballs was sent flying at Spike who jumped behind a turned over table. Taking cover Spike pulled out his Uzis and notice that he was on his last clip and he knew the same could be said for Rainbow.
For the last time of the day silence enter the town once again. The crowd was holding it’s breath waiting at the edge of their seats (and in Discord case) eating cotton candy popcorn with beacon, but no one was paying him any attention at all focus was on the two.
Taking one final breath to calm their nerves the two leap it to action. Paintballs flying in all directions flying past each other. Ducking behind cover Spike looked at the ammo counter and saw that he only had twenty-five shots left. Having nothing left to lose Spike and Rainbow leaped out of cover for the last shot out. As the dust settled two shadowy figures stood the tension in the air was so thick that someone could have cut it with a butter knife, if they wasn’t Discord. Out of nowhere one of the figures dropped to the ground as more of the dust settled it was clear who win. Pacts of spiky green hair could be seen of the figure that was standing.
Spike walked over to the fallen girl relishing his victory, Rainbow looked up to the dragon-blood teen with a scowl on her face at her lost. “I’ll pick you up at eight.” Spike said with a smirk on his face as he walked off to the home he shared with Twilight.
Getting up off of the ground and dusting herself Rainbow rolled her eyes. “You better not be late! And make sure Applejack is with you!” Rainbow shouted as she took off to her home.
Sitting in the stands that Discord manifested the crowd cheered declaring Spike the winner of the paintball war. As the cheering ended and everyone went home to clean todays work off Celestia, Luna, and Discord made their leave with Celestia declaring that there will be a paintball war once a year.
