//-------------------------------------------------------// Shadow strike vs Joseph -by Shadow608- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 Written by Shadowstrike608 and edited by Kiwi Poo This takes place during the near future: The sound of swords clashing echoed off the ruined walls and rang in the air as two dracuses, Blaze and Bolt, fought an alicorn. This alicorn was carrying a blade with a print of draconic nature, but it was surrounded by a dark aura, uncharacteristic of blade of dragon make. The alicorn sent the two dracuses flying into a wall with a mighty blow, knocking them out cold. Another dracus, the third of the party on patrol, Blood Rose, charged at the first alicorn, brandishing a blade with a similar draconic print and a similar aura, only white instead of dark. Blood Rose brought the weapon down on the alicorn, expecting to kill him right then and there. To her surprise, the alicorn kicked her away before the blade came anywhere close to slicing through his hide. She lost her footing and, exhausted, crashed to the ground, unable to get back up to get back in the fight. The alicorn casually trotted past the incapacitated Blood Rose towards her daughter, Clover, who had come along with Rose that day for take-your-daughter-to-your-insanely-hazardous-workplace day, and who had been hiding from the carnage behind a half-weathered away mossy wall. He froze when he heard a familiar voice cry out to him from behind. “Joseph!” Joseph smiled. “Shadow, I didn’t expect to bump into you so soon since our last... encounter,” he span around and chuckled when he saw Shadow Strike pull out his sword. “Let her go!” Shadow yelled. He tightened his grasp around his sword and stood taller to make himself seem more intimidating. Shadow already outsized the black and purple alicorn by a fair bit, but every little bit helped, he figured. “Face me in battle!” “Now, now, are you sure you want to do that, dear Shadow Strike?” Joseph replied in a mockingly flirting tone. “I have the power of the gods!” Shadow was noticeably getting more and more angry, “what do you have?” “The power of the sacred beasts, don’t you remember?” He giggled quietly. “Fine then!” Shadow said after a short pause. Joseph was embarrassing him more and more. He found himself actually being happy that the other dracuses were unconscious so they couldn’t hear how Joseph was treating him. “We’ll fight, and whoever wins gets the filly. Agreed?” “Oh, I’ll agree to anything you ask, Shadow.” Joseph joked. Enraged, Shadow gripped onto his sword even tighter and charged at Joseph. He trained his draconic blade forged with lightning and fire, dubbed Blazing Lighting on Joseph’s neck, intending to end the fight in a single blow. Unfortunately, in his embarrassment and anger, he became careless, and Joseph was able to easily block Shadow’s blow. Shadow’s move did leave a blow, however. Joseph’s blade was severely damaged and basically useless in a fight against a skilled opponent like Shadow. Joseph discarded the weapon and battered the winded Shadow till he couldn’t stand anymore. He then bucked back Shadow like a farm pony would buck an apple tree, sending him flying and rendering him unconscious when he made contact with the stony ground. Joseph smirked at the sight of him lying unconscious on his back. He got back up, fairly tired of the events that had transpired shortly before, and trotted back to Clover, who was far too terrified to try to run. As he snatched her up, he once again heard Shadow’s voice behind him. “Don’t. Move.” Shadow was shaking on his hooves, but standing, something Joseph never expected after the beating he had taken. “You’re terrible at protecting ponies.” Joseph laughed. He dropped Clover and kicked Shadow back down. Shadow Strike, now suffering from mild brain hemorrhaging, looked around at the unconscious dracuses. “You aren’t going to stop me this time. I won’t let you take her.” Joseph gave a genuine look of surprise. “Oh really?” “I fight for the ones I love, and now it’s time for you to pay!” A flash of light originating from Shadow blinded Joseph and Clover. When it dissipated, Shadow was back on his feet, his mane and tail had become a form of flame which, due to his godly powers, didn’t cause third degree burns on his body, and electrical discharges sparked between him and the surrounding air. A large claw-like aura phased into existence around his hooves. “If that’s how you want to do this, fine. Let’s do this.” Joseph followed Shadow’s example and there was another blinding flash. This one was unlike Shadow’s flash, however, as seemed to be pure darkness, absorbing light from all around it. When the darkness subsided Joseph too had flaming hair and a repaired and improved blade, with electrical discharges sparking all over the metal. “So those vile beasts gave you an ultimate for as well, I see. Very well, let us fight, good versus evil!” “Man, Shadow, you really need to lighten up sometimes.” Joseph interjected, but Shadow didn’t react. “My power of the gods against your power of the beasts!” Joseph then readied himself for Shadow’s inevitable charge, which he blocked successfully. The force of the strike completely shattered his blade this time, however. He slammed his body into Shadow, hoping to knock him over so he could make a run for it, but he found himself impaled on Shadow’s blade instead. “Fuck!” he said, trying to hide the immense pain he was in. He dropped down to his knees. “I have one final wish, Shadow.” “What is it?” “Fuck off.” Then Joseph was no more, and his body disintegrated because magic or some shit. Blood Rose got to her hooves shortly after, and approached Shadow, who was still wondering where the heck Joseph went. “What in the name of Celestia just happened?” “Joseph is dead... I think, but Clover is still safe. Blood Rose said. “Thank you for keeping her safe, Shadow.” Shadow shrugged. “Now we just need to get my boys fixed up.” So Blood and Shadow dragged Blaze and Bolt back from the ruins and to Shadow’s home and laid them on beds. Shadow’s power slowly subsided and he transformed back into his normal, flammable self, shortly after which he fainted from the injuries he had sustained from the fight with Joseph. Luckily, Bolt and Blaze awoke right after Shadow became unconscious and rushed over to help him. He was lying in a large pool of his own blood. His breathing was shallow and irregular. Blood Rose picked him up and put him on the couch and instructed Blaze to grab Clover and take her away so she didn’t have to see the gorey, body “Bolt, your father told me you’re experienced with first aid. Help him.” Bolt ran to retrieve the emergency first aid kit Shadow kept handy in his cupboard in case he ever found himself slashed. After a bit of rummaging around, he found it and ran back. He cleaned and bandaged Shadow’s wounds, after which the bleeding soon stopped. Blood Rose told Bolt to go check on his brother. Shadow didn’t regain consciousness, which deepened Blood’s worry. Out of absolutely nowhere came a blinding flash originating from Shadow’s bass guitar in the corner of the room. When Blood’s sight returned to her, she found two strange, transparent ponies standing in the middle of the room: a dark pegasus with a yellow mane and a dark unicorn with a silver mane. “What the-” “I am Silver, an old friend of Shadow’s,” the unicorn said, interrupting Blood Rose before she could grab Shadow’s sword. “AND I AM LIGHTNING!” The pegasus yelled, “I TOO AM AN OLD FRIEND OF SHADOW’S!” “Hush, Lightning” “Sorry about that.” “What happened to Shadow?” Silver asked Blood Rose, after he spotted his half-dead, bandaged body lying on the couch, struggling to stay alive. “There was a fight” “I sense there is something wrong with Shadow.” Lightning stated flatly, getting a sarcastic look from both Blood Rose and Silver. Lightning ignored the looks and after blinking a few times his iris took on a more draconic appearance. Silver sighed and did the same. “We were created by the dragon gods, like Shadow,” Lightning explained, “That’s how we saw that something was wrong.” Shadow woke up shortly after, sat up and smiled weakly at them, happy to see his old friends. Simultaneously with his smile, the door was bashed in. In the opening stood another of his siblings: his sister, Rain. “What the hell happened to you? I was just hanging around my place when suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my heart and I knew it had something to do with you, brother!” Shadow managed to stay calm despite his sister just vandalizing his property, and explained that he fought to protect his niece. “Wait, you have a niece?” Rain was clearly fairly upset about being left out of the loop regarding her own family. “Yeah, and kids. Would you like to meet them?” “How could you keep all this from me?!” “Oh, and have you met my other sister, Blood Rose?”“WHAT!?” “She’s my other sister. And don’t ask about my children, okay?” Shadow changed the subject hoping not to upset his sister too much. “Did you bring the blades like I asked you to?” “Uh... Y-yeah.” She pulled two draconic blades out of her saddlebag and handed them to Shadow. “Great, now lightning, silver take the blades and send them through where your hearts were because the energy of the blades will bring you back to life. The end.
