Prince Morgen von Sonne of Equestria one day hopes to be as good and fair a ruler as his adoptive mother, Princess Celestia, despite the handicap of his not being a pony, rather that of a species considered only to be myth. However, forces that lurk outside the realm of Equestria seek to reclaim him and hope to reduce his home and family to ruins.

From Ponyville and the Everfree Forest to the warring Eastern Griffon Kingdoms and into Tartarus itself, Morgen finds himself alongside determined and valued friends and allies as he finds himself struggling to save not only ponykind but his own soul from the daemonic Realm of Chaos and the Dark Gods that seeks to merge it with Equestria, which may bring about the end of existence itself.
