Make fun of my brother for just one of his nightmares with the cover art and it turns into this. If something happens in season four that seems like it's related to this, remember it's not. Either way, like I said I was making fun of my brother by redrawing a creature from his dream and then I tried to write it as the creature were in MLP:FIM and the cause of Night Mare Moon. I uploaded my original drawing as reference to the general idea, and because I'm really bad at drawing ponies.

The message

Long ago, we were feared by all, but now only the young fear while the wise avoid us. The ignorant ones assume that we are an old mare's tale, used to scare young fillies and colts into bed. Others believe that we are no more, simply dispelled by their princess of the light, and the Queen's banishment. No, we've only been waiting, waiting for her return. There has been news of her return, but she doesn't remember us, or the power we granted to her. Even so, loyal we remain, the princess will wear the Dark Queen's crown again soon. Until then, I will wait here, listening to the wind, as the messenger of my brothers and sisters. Lurking in every alleyway you pass, every shadow you neglect. I merely am waiting, waiting for the return of my queen. I am not a threat, I am only a messenger. The messenger of the Dark.
