The Mysterious Letter

On her way home Fluttershy kept thinking on what Twilights answer might be.

Fluttershy opened the door to her cottage and lied down on the sofa to relax after such an exciting evening. She took the flower Twilight gave her out of her mane and set it in a empty vase on top of her fireplace after taking a few moments to admire it, the memories flashing through her mind, causing her to smile.

Walking into her kitchen, Fluttershy could hear a knock at the door. She walked back to the main room and after opening the door, Fluttershy got tackled to the floor by her cyan friend in a massive hug.

After getting back on her hooves Fluttershy was able to see that her friend Rainbow Dash, grinning like she never has before.

“Hello Rainbow, I’m guessing that you finally told her?” Fluttershy said while walking back to the couch.

“Yes and guess what?! She said yes and we’re going out on our first date tomorrow! So, how did it go with Twilight? Did she kiss you and ask you out?” Rainbow asked while she followed Fluttershy to the couch to sit down.

“Well… no. she told me she needed time to think about it. But she did give me that flower and kiss me on the cheek so I think I might be in good standings.” Fluttershy explained with a blush pointing up at the vase which held the flowers before she stood up and started to walk over to the kitchen.

“Would you like something to drink Rainbow? I would think that you might want to cool down after such an exciting evening.” Fluttershy asked as Rainbow stood up and followed her into the kitchen.

“Nah. I think I might head on home and sleep. Big day tomorrow and I need to catch some z’s. Good luck with Twilight, Flutters. I just know everything will work out. Maybe we could double date sometime.”

Rainbow said with a good hearted chuckle before she walked out of the kitchen. “Well I’m going to take off now. I’ll catch you later! She said as she jumped out an open window in a fashion usual for her instead of using the door she had come in from, drawing a sigh and chuckle from the butter coated mare.

After she closed the window, Fluttershy looked towards the flower once more before she headed up to the bedroom and went to sleep having various dreams on what Twilight might say to her next time she sees her.

Fluttershy started her morning routine thinking that it was just a nightmare and that what she saw in it would never happen after she woke up from a rather horrible and ridiculous nightmare where Twilight said no to her and went to Canterlot to outlaw mare-loving mare's in Equestria.

Shower, breakfast, and feeding her animals was all she had to do today so she took one of her books from her bookshelf and rested herself on the couch.

After a couple of hours Fluttershy had managed to fall asleep on the couch when a knock on the door woke her up, placing the book on the living room table. She walks over to the door to see who was knocking.

Fluttershy opened the door and what she saw next was not to believe.

Twilight was standing there with a smile on her face. “Hello Fluttershy. I was wondering. If you weren’t too busy, would you like if we went for a walk together?”

“Sure we can Twilight. I always have time for you.” Fluttershy said while closing the door behind her, a small blush dusting her face as she remembered all the good dreams from the night before.

Not much was said between the two mares on the road through White tail woods until they arrived at a small cliff where Twilight sat down and looked up at the sky.

“You know Fluttershy-” She began before closing her mouth and seeming to rethink her next words with a shake of her head. “I don’t really know how to say it right. I’ve never really been very good with social situations let alone something so personal.” Twilight begins to explain as a hard to see blush starts to light her cheeks. “So i’ll just let the stars talk for me.” She said while pointing up towards the early night sky where some of the stars have appeared and spelled out

‘I accept your request and will go out on a date with you Fluttershy ~T.S.’

Fluttershy looked up at the message that was written in the stars for everypony to see. Looking over at Twilight Fluttershy saw that Twilight was standing there looking at her with a big -if slightly nervous- smile and blush on her face. All Fluttershy could do was simply tackle Twilight with a bear crushing hug. Pulling back from the hug, Fluttershy withstood the powerful want to kiss Twilight right then and there,  their first date would make a better place for that.

“Thanks for giving me a chance Twilight, I promise you that your first ever date will be a good one.”

Twilight simply nodded, stepped up to fluttershy and gave her a kiss on the cheek. “I can hardly wait Fluttershy.” and with that they started to walk back towards Ponyville
