Chapter 1: A Mysterious Letter
She finished the last letter, then set the quill down on her desk and rolled up the parchment, then put on her signature wax seal. She smiled deviously. Soon, the Mane 6 would be working for her. a soft purple glow shed light on the dark office. She held the letters in front of her, then blew. A wisp of purple flame shot out, turning the letters to smoke.

Chapter 1: A Mysterious Letter
Twilight tumbled out of bed, her hair in a mess and a blanket draped over her shoulders. She felt around for her glasses. She picked them up and put them on, then blinked the fogginess out of her eyes. She headed downstairs, careful not to wake Spike. She tiptoed into the kitchen and turned on the coffee pot, then got out her favorite mug. The Cutie Mark Crusaders had made it for her after she reunited her friends to defeat Discord. It was white, with the words "Twilight is #1!" On it. It would take a minute for the coffee to brew, so she flopped down on the couch and opened a book. It was a chilling horror story called "Full Dark, No Stars". Twilight had read many books in her life, but none of them compared to this. It was by far the creepiest book she'd ever read. To be honest, it actually scared her a bit. She would be sure to get more books by the author. The coffee pot made a satisfying "ding!".
Twilight set the book down and walked back to the kitchen. She poured her coffee, then opened the refrigerator and removed from it the coffee creamer. She put in a bit too much, about a ratio of 2.5 coffee/4 creamer. But it didn't really matter. Twilight liked sweet things, but not nearly as much as Pinkie Pie. As she sat back down and took a sip of coffee, a scroll popped into existence in front of her. She nearly jumped off the couch, but only ended up spilling coffee on her lavender purple button-up pajamas. And it was extremely hot.
"Sweet Celestia!" Shrieked Twilight. She set down her mug and raced up the stairs, unbuttoning her pajamas as quickly as possible. She tossed them into the laundry and ran into the bathroom, then turned on the warm water.

A plume of steam exited the bathroom along with Twilight, all wrapped up in her towel. Baths are nice, thought Twilight. It was then she remembered the letter she hadn't read. It was probably soaked in sweet coffee, laying aimlessly on the living room floor. She entered the bedroom to find it atop her dresser, still sealed and completely dry. She smiled as she heard Spike grumble "you're welcome." from his bed. After getting dressed, Twilight snatched up the letter and opened it, then began reading.
Dear Twilight Sparkle,
Hello, Miss Sparkle. I must say, you're one of the most talented Unicorns I've ever met. Talented enough to become a magic "teacher" for less talented Unicorns, like Trixie Lulamoon, for example. Let us do great things together.

Twilight studied the letter. Who sent this? She thought. She'd never met anypony with "H" as one of their initials. How did H know about Trixie? How did she know Twilight? And why did she want Twilight to meet her on All Hallows' Eve? Twilight set the letter back on top of her dresser and walked downstairs, then sat down on the couch and looked around before resuming her reading. She couldn't concentrate, though. It was plaguing her. Who was H?

"Rarity, this letter is for you!" Rarity stopped her sewing and gazed down at her sister. She smiled and took the letter.
"Thank you very much, Sweetie Belle. Now be a dear and go have fun with your little friends!" Sweetie turned and ran out the door, but not before giving Rarity a loving hug. Rarity adjusted her bright red reading glasses, then looked at the wax seal. It wasn't one she recognized. She opened the letter.
Dearest Rarity,
Your dresses are the most amazing things I've ever seen. Deserving of their own line and store in Canterlot, wouldn't you say? I'm looking forward to doing business with you, darling.

Rarity blinked, her eyes sparkling. Her own store and fashion line in Canterlot!? She couldn't believe it. Well, maybe she could. But Canterlot? Swoon! She set down the letter and bit her lip, trying to hold back a fangirl scream. Her sewing machine whirred to life, and she began to sew a bit faster.

Fluttershy blinked, then yawned and stretched as rays of golden sun hit her eyes. She sat up and got out of bed, her slippers meeting up with her feet. She shuffled over to Angel's hutch and unlatched it. She woke up fully as the sound of a screaming kettle met her ears. She ran into the kitchen to see about 4 songbirds trying to lift it. Fluttershy smiled softly and picked up the kettle, then shut off the stove.
"Thank you all very much for making me tea." Fluttershy cooed as she poured the hot water into a tall pottery cup. She opened her cabinet and removed a jar of Jasmine tea leaves. She removed the lid and sprinkled in some tea leaves, then put the lid back on and set the jar back on its respective shelf. A scroll popped into the air. The songbirds chirped. "Eeek!" Fluttershy squeaked, startled. She breathed a sigh of relief and grabbed the letter, then read it.
Dear Fluttershy,
Hello, my dear. I must say that your brief modeling career was spectacular! I have a preposition for you: You embrace your talents and become a star in the performing arts. Imagine it: Fluttershy, the most graceful and beautiful performer that dance has ever seen! I look forward to it. Do you?

"Oh, my. The performing arts? Dancing? I can't perform in front of others!" Squeaked Fluttershy, dropping the letter. The songbirds chirped happily, stroking her long pink hair. "You really think so? I just don't know. The thought of being watched by thousands of ponies! Fluttershy covered her face with her hands. The songbirds continued to chirp in soothing tones. "I'll think about it..." Fluttershy drank her tea, then studied her tea leaves and gasped.

Rainbow Dash finished buttoning up her waistcoat before flying outside to check the mail. She opened up her mailbox to find a scroll inside. She picked it up and flew over to one of her rainbow pools, then sat next to it and read.
Dear Rainbow Dash,
Danger is your middle name. Let me be the first to say it suits you. Your daring flight stunts wow me whenever I see them. And I'm happy to tell you that you have graduated from the Wonderbolts Academy. Congratulations, because you are now a certified member of the Wonderbolts. Loyalty to your dreams pays off, doesn't it?

OhmygoshOhmygoshOhmygoshOhmygoshOHMYGOSH!! She spread her wings, her rose eyes lighting up. She flew up to the top of her cloud home, letter in hand. "Today, I become a Wonderbolt!!" she read the letter again. "But what the hell is All Hallows' Eve?"

Pinkie threw on her favorite shirt and cardigan, then laced up her shoes and ran downstairs. She ran up to the front door and slammed it open, stretching her arms toward the golden sun.
"GOOD MORNING PONYVILLE!!" Yelled Pinkie. She beamed, then went back inside and bounced into the kitchen. She raced around, grabbing a blueberry muffin off the counter and taking a bite. She jumped and landed on the smoothest part of the kitchen floor, causing her to slide. "Woohoo!!" She laughed. Pinkie pulled her IPod out of her pocket and selected a song, then began to dance around the bakery. A scroll popped into the air mid-jump. She paused, hanging in the air for a bit while grabbing the letter. She came back down to earth before opening it.
Dear Pinkie Pie,
Sugarcube Corner, my favorite bakery. Run by my favorite baker, you, Pinkie Pie. Your talent is deserving of its own TV show, yes? I do hope you'll accept my offer. It would be terrible for such a young and talented baker like yourself to go without fame and recognition. We'll do great things, Miss Pie.

Pinkie's eyes grew wide.
"MY OWN TV SHOW!!" She hugged the letter and smiled broadly before leaping with joy. "You'll see me there, H!" Pinkie dashed back upstairs. "Mr. Cake, Mrs. Cake!! I have my own show!!"

Applejack swiftly kicked the tree in front of her. A shower of apples rained down into the wooden buckets below. Applejack wiped her forehead, smiling. She bent down and picked up a plump red apple. This was exactly why Autumn was Applejack's favorite season. She picked up a bucket and began to walk back to the barn.
"Howdy, Big Mac!" Called Applejack. Big Mac nodded in response. Applejack chuckled, then shook her head. She continued along the beaten bath, humming a country tune. She tripped over a tree root, causing her to fall, and for the bucket of apples to be scattered in the mud. Her cheek scraped against the wood of the apple bucket. She looked up from the ground. Was that...a scroll? Applejack squinted. Yup. It was muddy and half-buried, but it was a scroll. Why would anypony leave a scroll here? She thought, then shrugged and unrolled it.
Dear Applejack,
I'm glad you received this letter. I've heard you sing, and let me say, you possess a magnificent voice. I think you deserve to be recognized as something more than a farm girl. I hope you do, because it would be waste if you didn't. See you soon.

Applejack blushed. How did this "H" know about her singing? She never sang anymore. Only when she was alone. She got up and looked down at her now muddy clothes. She rerolled the letter and stuffed it into her shorts pocket. She then began to pick up the apples.

Applejack opened her closet and removed a dusty guitar case. She sat on her bed, then slowly undid the latches, almost holding her breath. Inside was a beautiful acoustic guitar. She ran her hand along the strings, gazing at the polished wood. She smiled as she remembered how she used to sit at the town fountain and play, and how the ponies would gather around and listen for hours on end. Her hand went to her pocket. She bit her lip. If she agreed, she may have to leave her family. But if she declined...she shivered. Sweet Apple Acres wasn't doing too well nowadays. The west field had fruit bats, and the south field trees had been destroyed by a sweeping tree disease. But...Bic Mac couldn't handle Applebuck Season all on his own. But- she slammed the case shut. But...
