//-------------------------------------------------------// The Dead Space -by shanetommas111- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Summary //-------------------------------------------------------// Summary Well I didn't thought I would go out like this but my love is gone and most of the crew is dead when we landed on that damn colony.  My name is Twilight Sparkle and there’s a pretty good chance that I’m going to die, so I’m going to tell my story about what happened but first I think I need to tell you about the beginning of Pony kind. 500 years ago the nation of Equestria was becoming over populated and its resources were disappearing.  Celestria and Luna thought about the same outcome if this goes on.  So the princesses decided to explore the rest of the planet to colonize territories.  During this process pony kind have colonize dozens of land and mined hundreds of rich resourced areas in those lands.  When the explorers set hooves on newly found land they saw things that were completely different from Equestria, there were bean plants that grew the size of the royal castle, and animals that could feed an entire dragon for years.  But one exploring team suddenly went missing after they went to an island in the middle of nowhere.  Celestria and Luna heard about the report and decided to send military trained explorers to find out what happened to the explorers that went missing.   But when the military was about to go a single ship floated to shore of Manehattan.  He reported that his team found an artifact on the island, and that it turned the dead crew into these monstrous beings that killed the living.  The princesses decided to send entire army to the island to check the island.  When they got back they were nearly decimated by the losses they got from their own dead that only 20 stallions came back out of 200.  The surviving crew brought back the mysterious artifact for the top scientists of Equestria to study it.  The scientist found out that the artifact sends some kind of signal that reanimates dead tissue that can turn the dead into monsters, but they didn’t care about that more than they found out that the artifact could also supply an unlimited supply of energy to the entire nation.  The princesses found out about the artifact and ordered both the last surviving explorer and the surviving military soldiers to be executed.  The reports for the survivors were that they went insane because of an unknown reason and that they all committed suicide.  Then the princesses order that the scientists figure out how to make more artifacts for Equestria can produce unlimited energy to make Equestria into a super power that can surpass any other life form.  When the scientists finally figure out how to create more artifacts, so Equestria began making hundreds of these artifacts that the scientist code named “Markers.”  When Equestria finally finished building the markers and began using them as power sources for the nation, but immediately the markers began turning the dead into monster that killed almost any pony by a marker, and the marker didn’t even gave power to a city.  It took the Equestrian military 10 days and 300,000 stallions to contain and eradicate the monsters and to kill any witnesses.  The princesses decided that the markers were now too dangerous to use and they also thought they were so foolish to even try to control them.  So the princesses ordered all markers to be relocated to isolated areas around the world for no pony could find them.  For a time it worked till a colony was establish in one of those areas. A colony sat on a dead island called Argost 6 that was in the middle of an ocean.  The island had no life on it at all, the plants have died out hundreds of years ago and the animals starved to death because of that.  The only reason Ponies decided to colonize the planet was because it had vast resources that the other colony didn’t have.  But when an island cracker ship UNE Icemora broke a chunk of the island for it resource the ship and the colony went dark.  So the princesses sent the repair ship UNE Lungar that I was part of the crew.  We were sent to fix any damages to Icemora sustained, but what we discovered on that ship was beyond any of our nightmares. When UNE Lungar was still light speed a single crew member on the repair ship Twilight Sparkle was fixing a broken communicator that a crossed eyed Pegasus spilled her drink.  She was nearly finished before a crew member came and said. “Hey engineer Twilight Sparkle.”  The crew member then walked up and gave her a little push.  “The captain what you on the deck right now, so hop to it.” Twilight got up and walked with the crew member to the deck.  Twilight got to the command deck and spoke to the captain.  The captain was a Pegasus that had a Rainbow mane and a cyan coat; she was one of the toughest soldiers to pass flight but for some reason she decided to be captain of a repair ship instead of a UNE Destroyer.  Twilight walked towards and saluted the captain and said. “Engineer Twilight Sparkle reporting for duty.” Rainbow Dash looked at me for a second before asking.  “Twilight Sparkle well from my reports you’re new her.  Yes?”  Twilight just nodded and let Rainbow Dash continued.  “By this report one of your friends is abort this vessel. Right?” “ Yes mam, he was the one who manage to convince my superiors to transfer me here.”  Twilight said and then looked around and asked.  “Where is she anyways?” “Gunner Flash Sentry was transferred to a destroyer just before you got here.” After hearing that Twilight looked down to the ground.  ‘I thought we would have been working together with this mission.’  Twilight thought to herself, she really wanted to see him again because she hadn’t seen him in person for the last two years.  That was the reason she joined the military to be with him. “Twilight Sparkle!” Twilight looked up and saw her captain starring at her; she got up and shook her head.  “Sorry mam didn’t mean to doze of like that.” “Well it better not happen again because we’re here.” //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue      The year is 2253 P.C. (Pony Civilization) where pony kind advanced in the Technological Era.  In 1916 P.C. the population of ponies in Equestia grew, so ponies spread across the world of Trinity.  In 1981 P.C. the races of Trinity declared war against each other causing a world war.  In 2039 P.C. the races went into peace talks ending the war but not before they used a lot of resources of Trinity.  In 2041 P.C. the top races of Trinity (Ponies, Griffins, Dragons, and Changelings) formed a united government of Trinity called “Trin Gov.” In 2056 P.C. ponies and the other races have over populated Trinity threatening the planet’s resources.  In 2057 P.C. the races began to debate of how to handle this new threat.  In 2058 P.C. the races finally decided on one solution “We can’t spread on Trinity anymore, but we can spread in space.” Luna quoted, thus the Space Era began.  Through 2060-2250 P.C. ponies and the other races have populated hundreds of colonies and new religion was form after discovering an alien artifact and called them so self’s “The Church”.  Since then ponies and the other races have been searching for any signs of alien life during their time in space.  They unfortunately found their answer. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter One: Just Another Raid. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter One: Just Another Raid.      Deep in space a lone pirate ship disguise as U.T.S. patrol ship and its crew are in warp jump to a colony planet called “Hoofeast 7” after the colony and a planet crasher ship went of the radar.  Their orders are to investigate, but they were really going there to raid the ship and maybe even the colony.  But they wouldn’t even imagine what they will find when they reached their destination. “Hey Flash.”  A voice called out while Flash Sentry, an engineer that was sleeping on the bridge.  “Hey Flash!”  Flash finally woke up after being shouted at by corporal Octimus. “Jeez finally, I thought you would never wake up.”  Octimus said.  “Come on we’re almost there.” Flash put his helmet on and sat in his designated seat.  Then the captain of the ship came, a female Griffin named Gilda. “Alright everyone we’re here.”  Gilda said when the ship exited warp jump to come to a dead planet with meteor debris surrounding the planet. “So that’s Hoofeast 7, I still don’t know why prospectors colonize that Celestria for sake planet.”  A blue mare with a white mane said while looking out of the bridge window. “It’s a gold mine for resources oh ‘Great & Powerful Trixie.”  Gilda said. “Yeah, the captains’ right it holds; Coalium, Stalium, and Hoofinite.” Corporal Sentinel said to the blue mare. “And that’s why we’re here.”  Gilda said. Then the crew saw the planet crasher ship that they were to investigate/raid. “Wow that’s the U.T.S. Fillymora!”  Octimus shouted.  “The biggest planet crasher out there.” “Wait a minute isn’t Flash’s fillyfriend stationed on the Fillymora.”  Sentinel said.  “What’s her name, uummm oh Sunset Shimmer right?”  Flash nodded. “Don’t worry Flash we won’t hurt her or anyone except for security.”  Trixie said.  “Well unless something bad did happened.” “Oh come on Trixie this is just another raid.”  Octimus said.  “It’s most likely a malfunctioning in their deep space communication system.” “Alright corporal, take us in.”  Gilda said. “Roger that captain.”  Sentinel said. There ship maneuvered through the debris without getting hit.  The ship was now getting closer to the planet crasher but then suddenly the Fillymora’s rocket defense turrets began shooting at them, the patrol ship took a few hits on the left side. “What the buck!”  Gilda yelled. “Engaging maneuvers!”  Sentinel said while flying, trying to avoid incoming rockets.  “Launching dummy drones!”  The patrol ship then launched small dummy drones (the DDs look similar to a grey cross eyed Pegasus we all know) for most of the Fillymora’s turrets to target them instead. “That got to give us a breather.”  Octimus said. “Don’t speak so soon.”  Trixie said seeing heat seeking missiles coming right at them. “Oh shit!”  Sentinel cursed seeing the HSMs.  “Activating flares.”  The patrol ship now shot out flares for the HSMs to follow the flares. “Dam most of the dummies are destroyed!”  Octimus said. “Launching more dummies!”  Sentinel said. The same routine lasted for five minutes.  And in that time the patrol ship was hit by 8 rockets and 3 missiles. “Status report corporal!”  Gilda shouted at Sentinel. “The ship has taken 72% of damage, engines 2 and 5 are heavily damage, kinetic shields are at 26%.”  Sentinel said.  “And we’re running out of defenses.” Things were looking bad for the crew of the patrol ship and the captain tried to think of options.  She only had one option. “We need to land on Hoofeast 7!”  Gilda said.  After hearing her they all looked at her (besides Sentinel) giving her a look of ‘WHAT’.  “I know what you’re thinking but it’s the only option, Corporal.” “Yes captain.”  Sentinel said. “When we enter the atmosphere I want you to launch all dummy drones and flares.”  Gilda said.  “And try to do an emergency landing by the colony’s space elevator.” “What!  Those missiles are still going to target us after the flares dies!”  Trixie said. “Octimus take control of the top rocket turret.”  Gilda said.  “Shoot down any missiles that are coming at us.” “Oh yeah!”  Octimus shouted then pulled up the targeting camera for the turret. “Captain!”  A crew member spoke in a com from the gravity control systems. “What is it?”  Gilda said. “It the gravity system, they’re going to overAaahhh-.”  The crew man was cut off after being killed by a blast. “Dammit everyone buckle in!”  Gilda yelled while she is buckling her seatbelt including, Flash, Octimus, and Sentinel.  Then the gravity systems overloaded causing everyone that weren’t fast enough were now being tossed around the bridge hitting the walls, sealing, and any objects that were in their way. Then electrical wires came out of the walls swinging everywhere electrocuting any one that got hit.   Flash saw one member being electrocuted to death that his eye balls exploded. “Dammit I can’t control the turret from this panel!”  Octimus said.  “The only other panel that can control the turret is Sentry’s.” “Sentry, take control of the turret!”  Gilda said.  “Octimus give him a quick rundown!”  Octimus nodded. Sentry took control and pulled up the screen seeing scours of missiles heading towards them. “Alright Flash you just need to aim the turret at the missiles then shoot them by pressing the red triggers.”  Octimus said.  “It’s like riding a scooter.” Flash then fired the turret destroying dozens of missiles in just a few seconds. “Ah… not bad for a rookie.”  Octimus complimented. “Status report with those missiles!”  Gilda asked. “Flash is wiping out dozens.”  Octimus said.  “But there still a buck loads more coming right at us!” Then a missile hit the only turret the patrol ship had. “There goes our turret.”  Trixie said. “Well at least there’s just one missile left.”  Octimus said before it hit the ship. “Ah buck!”  Sentinel said.  “That ONE missile just hit engine 5!” “What do you mean?”  Gilda said. “We can’t do an emergency landing captain.”  Sentinel said.  “We’ll going to crash!” That’s when the crew saw that their ship is going to hit the space elevator building. “Put up the bridge shield!”  Gilda yelled.  Then a metal shield covered the bridge.  Before the ship hit the building, Gilda said one last thing. “HOLD ON!” //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Two: Nice Landing. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Two: Nice Landing.      The patrol ship crashed into a building near the space elevator and now the surviving crew was now stranded on Hoofeast 7. “Ah, nice landing Sentinel!”  Octimus said sarcastically. “Well thank you Octimus for me saving all of our flanks!”  Sentinel said.  Octimus just stared at him. Everything was quiet before Gilda spoke up. “Trixie, status report.” “Most of the ship is a wreck, and half of the crew is dead.”  Trixie said.  “Guess you didn’t save all of our flanks corporal.” Gilda went to the ships com system and said.  “Alright every surviving crew pack up and get a weapon.”  Then she looked at Flash getting up.  “That’s means you to Sentry.” “Wait he’s just an engineer captain.”  Sentinel argues with the Griffin. “He also saved us from being blown to bits corporal.”  Gilda said.  “He’s a fast learner.” “Alright captain.”  Octimus said.  “What’s next?” Gilda thought for a moment before saying.  “First we need to get of this ship and head to the space elevator.” “Why?”  Trixie asked. “Because it’s connects to the Fillymora.”  Gilda said. “Ah, no offence captain, but YOU do realize that they tried to kill us!”  Octimus said.  “And why would we want to go aboard.” “Because the Fillymora must have a ship we can steal and we’re still here to raid them remember.”  Gilda said. “But wouldn’t they just fire at us again?”  Sentinel questioned. “Those turrets were designed to shoot ships not elevators.”  Gilda answered. After that the pirate crew left their wreck patrol ship to head towards the space elevator.  It was quiet till Sentinel spoke. “Hey do you think it’s weird that security hasn’t come yet?”  Sentinel said. “Nope.”  Gilda said.  “I think it’s weird that we haven’t encountered any one, not even a single mouse.” As the crew was walking down the hall, Flash saw something off of the corner of his eye.  He thought he saw Sunset Shimmer so he went into another hall way to check, nothing was there.  When he was going to regroup, the door behind him shut tight and wouldn’t open, the crew noticed when they heard the door shut and Flash banging on it. “Flash!”  Gilda said.  “You alright?” “Vitals saying that he’s okay.”  Trixie said. “Dam I can’t get the door open.”  Sentinel said whiling trying to open the door.  “Ah it’s no use, it’s in lockdown.” “Flash, it looks like you need to go another way to the space elevator.”  Gilda said. “You can find your way by pressing the blue button on your wrist; it will show a light arrow for you can follow it.”  Gilda said before leaving with the rest of the crew. Flash got going to the direction the light arrow was going. Flash followed the arrow to a shower room where he saw some of the colonist, at least not in one piece. “Oh shit.”  Octimus said into his com looking at another brutal carnage with the crew.  “Cap, are seeing this.” “It looks like a wild animal did this.”  Gilda said. “Keep your guard crew!”  Gilda yelled to the crew.  “I got a bad feeling about this.” Flash kept walking till he saw an open locker in the shower room and walked to it.  He looked into the locker and saw a holo recorder in it. “Hey Flash my sensors indicate that you pick up a holo.”  Gilda said.  “Try to find more and listen to them.  They might give us some clues of what the buck happened here.” Flash then activated the holo and listen to it. “Hey mom, it’s me Flim!  “You won’t believe what we found her on Hooveast 7.”  Flim said into the recorder.  “I can’t tell details because they might fire me if I do but a will tell you that this will be the biggest find since the discovery of the first Marker that landed on Trinity.”  Flim said.  “So that’s about it.  Oh and tell Flam that I said hi.”  The message stopped. Flash then walk on trying to figure out what Flim meant by ‘Biggest find since the discovery of the first Marker’.  Then he stop realizing what he said ‘The first Marker’ there has only been one unless.  This raid just got a lot more complicated.
