He cut his trembling hoof. Nothing. He sighed. This was it. His last chance. He slowly grabbed the glowing gem, it illuminating the dark, slimy cave walls. He heard a faint dripping sound in the dark, echoing across the cavern walls. It was then he felt dizzy, and his vision started to bend and go blurry, before seeing a small blur across his vision. He blinked, and the squirming thing that was on his eyes fell off. He saw the thing squirm around, and realized it was a maggot. Blinking hard once more, he opened his eye only to see something else fall off of his eye, something that looked very pale, and had hair sticking out on one end. Stepping back, only to have another horrified look on his face, realizing that it was his eyelid. He just ran, his speed turning into a full gallop. He slowly muttered to himself while galloping, "David- I hope you can seem to find a better end than me." He suddenly heard a loud crack, followed by his lower back right limb going limp, before he could process it, he hit the ground hard, not having enough footing. He skid across the rough rock, leaving a trail of maggot-infested skin behind him. The seemingly pale and maggot-infested mare slowly tried to get up, only to have his innards fall out with bones, hitting the rock with a plop. The rotting mare just collapsed onto the floor, making a squishing noise. The stench from his limp body filled the cave with the feeling of death, causing any pony to get close to the cave, to gag and revolt, galloping away. it was only a day or two later when David awoke.
