After a repressed territory in the Crystal Empire ousts its nobility and forms a Soviet Equestrian republic, two diplomats arrive in Canterlot for an audience with Princess Celestia. The two Soviets argue that Canterlot, as a superior, should order the Crystal Empire to accept Soviet independence and stand down.

Celestia's indecisiveness causes precious time to tick by, and war eventually breaks out between the Reds and the Empire. As the diplomats learn more about the situation, relations between Soviet Equestria and Canterlot quickly take a turn for the worse.

NOTE: This is (obviously) an interpretation of Soviet Equestria. If you think you'll have little to no interest in reading about a Soviet-themed state within Equestria, OR if you have little to no interest in the Soviet Union or Russia, I would highly suggest that you stop right here and go read something else rather than find yourself only a short way into this story and decide you ultimately hate it.
