When I was little, I lived in a village that no one knew of. The leader of our village, our dear mother, left one day to confront her sister in battle, nopony has seen her for a thousand years now, and most have given up hope. Some say that she abandoned and forgotten us, but I don't agree, I think she is still watching over us. One day, twin unicorn colts were born, throwing the village into utmost disaster. Both looked the same, save for their color. One had a light blue coat, a pink tail and mane; the other a dark blue coat with a dark purple mane and tail. They grew up hating each other, and each day growing more and more resentful towards the other. They would fight, causing scars and bruises to both their egos and bodies. But one day, while in the middle of brutal battle near an abandoned castle, they found a book. Curiosity killed their hostility towards each other and they read it. The book stated that there once lived two gods; one born of good, the other evil. Both lay dormant in two different locations: the castle of darkness and the tower of light. The book said that the only way to resurrect them was to use, the magic of two unicorns, the sacrifice of one's soul, and the words of-
“-I sacrifice thy soul to the depths of tartarus?” the darker one read out loud. A shadow flashed out of the ground and crashed atop the darker unicorn. The other feeling a sharp pain in his gut as colors faded in and out of sight. He passed out, impaled by an unknown enemy, landing on the far side of the room.
“HAHAHA, after many years I’ve finally awoken from my imprisonment!” a demonic voice spoke - waking his dormant brother. “I will destroy all life on this pathetic world!” the darker colt stated, attempting to conjure up a spell. The mass of magic grew larger and larger until it became a deformed ball. the explosion was massive, a torrent of energy and light. “What!? This tiny body can’t handle that much magical power?!” the demon screamed in frustration, realizing he would have to wait many years for the body to mature.
“Whats this?” the demon questioned, noticing the lighter colt cowering to the horrific display of such terrible power. “If I absorb this young soul as well, then I shall be able to grow twice as fast!” The possessed pony thought aloud. He then turned to the young colt and cast a spell that wrapped a magic aura around the lighter brother, trying to absorb his soul. But the semi conscience of the possessed unicorn sabotaged the spell to backfire. The darker brother then appeared next to the physical body of his brother. “I can’t stop the spell, but I can at least make it so that you absorb him!” And with that said, the darker brother casted a separate spell on his brother, forcing the soul of both demon and the darker unicorn into the body of the lighter brother.
“GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!” the brother screamed, the three souls slipping into his body. When the souls entered his body the young colts cutie mark appeared, the symbol of natural balance. The small body wasn’t able to handle that many souls, though that was too many souls even for a full grown stallion, and the pain caused a splitting of the body creating a shadow of the light unicorn.
That was fifteen years ago, I have grown since then, but I'm still followed by my shadow, which is both my brother and a demon. I have read that there is a type of magic in this world that can save him. It will be a long journey but someday I will find the elements to save my brother. Kindness, Loyalty, Honesty, Generosity, Laughter, and Magic will make it all complete.
CHAPTER ONE!
The Story Begins
“Aww, ain't that beautiful? I’m sure I’ll find it here!”
“Come on!” A young mare growls, her mouth full of a fiery tail “You’re going to tell me everything about this other rainbow mane you saw in the Everfree Forest!”
“But Rainbow Dash, I told you, I don’t know anything about that pony, I just saw them for a second.” The poor stallion, being yanked across the town replied, wincing in pain.
“METIOR!” A voice yelled out toward the poor pegasus. “Oh sweet Luna, its been ages!”
“Artisin?” Metior replied confused to see the light blue unicorn stallion with a light pink tail and mane.
“Do you two know each other?” Rainbow askd spitting out Metior’s tail.
“WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME YOU WERE IN THE AREA?” Metior demanded, angry at his old friends lack of communication.
“I just arrived, and besides, aren't you going to introduce me to your lady friend?” Artisin asked nodding towards Rainbow Dash
“LADY FRIEND? OH HAY NO! I just meet this guy today, if anything hes a complete nobody to me!” Rainbow replied angrily.
“That’s not what it looked like to meee..... a-anyway, Howdy! The names Artisin and yours?” Artisin asked obviously regretting what he said.
“Rainbow Dash, its nice to meet you”
“THE Rainbow Dash? the very one that pulled off the legendary Sonic Rainboom... twice?” Artisin asked completely shocked and excited.
“Thats the one” Rainbow Dash replied happy to meet a fan. “You’ve heard of me?”
“Well yes, thats one of the reasons why I’m here” he said looking towards Metior because he knows his friend is going to ask.
“What are the others? WAIT! Let me guess the same reasons why you were in the Everfree Forest a four years ago?” Metior asked
“Yes! Because I think IT might be here!”
“What’s it?” Rainbow Dash asked “And why were you in the Everfree Forest?” Obviously confused and concerned
“IT, is the ultimate beauty in this world that, Artisin here, wants to find before his time comes.” Metior answered before Artisin could say anything. “Sorry, but if i didn't stop you, you would do your whole, how you started musical, and we all know that wouldn’t be pleasant.” Metior looks over at Rainbow Dash and adds “It’s half a day long”
“OH” Rainbow Dash utrs still slightly confused “So why did you come here to see me?”
“I didn’t! Well not to just see you. For you see I’m a traveling artist, but not just one art. Music, fashion, dance, singing, fighting, puppeteering... so on and so forth but my favorite is with paint and a canvas.” Artisin replied happily
“Did you say fashion?” Rainbow Dash asked
“Yes! I created a few outfits, a couple of years ago, that went into the Fashion Daily magazine as best outfits of the year.” Artisin sayed proudly.
“Then you should go to the Carousel Boutique!” Rainbow suggested “The owner’s very talented in fashion, though i don't understand it at all!”
“I’ll check it out, but first do you mind if I paint the scene you two just shared a moment ago?” Artisin asked kindly
“What scene?” Metior asked confused
“When she was dragging you to your upcoming doom!” Artisin answered being overly dramatic at the end.
“Oh, that” Metior states still confused
“She was pulling you towards that house over there” Artisin was pointing to the tree house across the road.
“What are you guys talking about?” Rainbow asked
“If you’re willing to help me, I’ll do it!” Stated Metior almost daring.
“Hello? What are you talking about?” Rainbow asked again slightly annoyed
“What do you want me to do?” Artisin replied ignoring Rainbow
“Uuuum? Guys?” Rainbow asked yet again becoming ever so furious.
“Well i could use some help gathering infor.....”
“WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!!!!!!” Rainbow Dash screams at the top of her lungs. Everypony in the town looking at the poor souls that pissed her off.
“I would like to paint the scene where you were pulling Metior by the tail but in order to get him to do so he needs me to help him do something, now that she knows can you tell me what my task at hoof is?” Artisin replied slightly annoyed
“sorry, i just find it soooo uncool when i get left out of things, especially when I’m involved” Rainbow commented glaring at Artisin.
