Ow, my head hurts. Where am I?
She slowly opened her eyes, just to see that her vision was blurry. She heard a friendly voice next to her.
"Derpy? Can you hear me? Are you okay?"
Derpy tried to talk, but she could only stutter out some gibberish. What's wrong with me? Why can't I talk? And why are my eyes so messed up?
"Derpy, can you understand me?", the unknown mare asked her. Derpy nodded silently.
"You're in the hospital. You had a horrible crash with another pegasus pony earlier this day, can you remember anything?"
Derpy shaked her head, not knowing what was going on.
"The other pony got away with some minor bruises, but unfortunately you got hurt much worse. You hit your head badly, which resulted in a concussion and serious brain damage. That's why you can't talk properly and your vision is so blurry. I'm sorry, but there is nothing we can do about that. We can only give you painkillers against the headache."
This can't be real. This has to be a terrible nightmare! I can't believe that I have to live like this for the rest of my life...
Derpy tried to hold back her tears, but soon she was crying like she never cried before. The nurse tried to comfort her, but Derpy shoved her back gently.
"Do you want to be alone?" the nurse asked. Derpy nodded, and seconds later she was alone in her room.
I can't live like this forever. I can't talk or see, I am useless. I am the most useless pony in all of Equestria.
What have I done to deserve this?
One week later, Derpy was released from the hospital. The doctors gave her two packages of painkillers, and Derpy was able to see better and talk a bit again. She still couldn't see or talk good though, but it would work for her. Or so she thought.
"You must be one dumb pony to have such crossed eyes!" the brown colt said before he pushed her into a puddle of mud.
"Now go home so we don't have to see your dumb face!" shouted his friend, while the other colt just laughed at her.
Why are you doing this to me? I haven't done anything to you! Why can't you just leave me alone?
Derpy quickly grabbed her bag and ran away crying, leaving the two colts in laughter and amusement.
Why is everypony looking at me like this? Are my eyes really that bad?
When she arrived at her home, she locked the door and set down on her couch, still crying.
Why does everypony hate me?
Dear diary,
everypony hates me. They look at me in disgust, like I am some kind of monster. Even Rainbow Dash hates me, because she hurt her wing when I crashed into her. She doesn't even care that I have to live with a serious brain damage for the rest of my life. She just said, that I should be glad to be alive, because that crash could've killed me. I wish it would have killed me...
Derpy laid in her bed, trying to get some sleep after this horrible day, but her terrible headache kept her awake for hours.
I hope that Flitter and Cloudchaser won't hate me for my brain damage like the other ponies do. They are my best friends, after all. They can't hate me for that, right?
Derpy woke up the next morning, her head still hurting. After taking some painkillers, she decided to give her friends Flitter and Cloudchaser a visit.
Come on, Derpy. I'm sure they'll understand that it was an accident, and that they'll still like you for who you are.
"Hey Derpy, are you alright? That crash looked horrible. Wait, what's with your eyes?" Flitter asked her, looking shocked and confused.
Derpy tried to answer, but she could only stutter.
"I...um...got...crash..."
"Derpy, what's wrong? Can't you talk properly or what?" Cloudchaser asked.
"I think the crash made her into a retard, Cloudchaser" Flitter said to her friend.
"Well, you weren't the brightest pony before the crash, but now you are officially a loser!"
"Let's go, Cloudchaser. We don't need a loser like Derpy as a friend. And you can forget the ticket to the Gala. There is no room for losers at the Gala!" Flitter said, before they left Derpy while laughing.

"Watch where you're going, retard!" a brown pegasus said while she bumped in Derpy, which caused her to fall.
Derpy was laying on the ground, crying, when another pony bumped into her and insulted her too.
"Get out of my way!"
"S-sorry," Derpy stuttered
Dear diary,
Flitter and Cloudchaser hate me now too, just like every other pony. I never thought that they would leave me for something like that, but I guess friendship isn't magic after all...
I just hope that I will be able to work properly tomorrow at the post office again, and that my boss will understand me.
Derpy woke up the next day, still with a terrible headache. After she put on her working clothes, she left her home, hoping that this day won't be as bad as the last two.
"Derpy, what the hell have you done?" her boss shouted.
"I...umm...s-sorry,"
"You just dropped this package for Princess Celestia, that's what you did! Do you know how expensive that was?"
Derpy tried to answer, but she could only bring out a silent stutter.
"I don't care if you have brain damage, if you don't work right, then don't work at all! You're fired!"
She just nodded and walked out of the post office, without trying to say anything, before she spread her wings to fly home.
I always mess up, I can't do anything right! Why am I such a failure? This day can't get any worse!
When she arrived at her home, she shockingly saw what some ponies had done to her home. Her windows were broken, her garden was ravaged and somepony wrote "We hate you Derpy!" with paint all over her house, multiple times.
Derpy quickly ran inside her house. That's it, I had enough!
Dear diary,
everypony hates me, I lost my friends, my job, and now my house has been vandalised. I had enough. I know exactly what I have to do...
Derpy closed her diary, and went outside. The cold wind of the afternoon blew in her face. She spread her wings and flew upwards. She flew higher and higher, and the relieving feeling of freedom streamed through her body.
After some minutes, she was above the clouds, and she was ready.
Derpy closed her eyes, with a weak smile on her face.
Finally free...of pain...
She retracted her wings and let her body fall through the clouds and towards Ponyville.

Dear diary,
today was a wonderful day! I met Flitter and Cloudchaser while I was strolling through the shops in Ponyville. We talked about the upcoming Grand Galloping Gala, and guess what? They have a extra ticket just for me! I finally get to meet the Wonderbolts and Princess Celestia! I've been waiting to go to the Gala for years, but I never got the chance.
Anyways, I think I should get some sleep, it's been a long day.
Derpy put her diary away and got into her bed. What a great day. I hope tomorrow will be just as terrific as today, she thought, as she slowly fell asleep.
The sound of her alarm clock woke Derpy up. Slowly, and still tired, she got up and got ready for the day, not knowing that this day will change her life forever.
Oh no, I'm all out of muffins. I guess I have to get some from Sugarcube Corner then.
She opened the door to see another beautiful day, just like yesterday. The sky was blue, the birds were chirping, and everypony seemed to be enjoying this beautiful day.
Derpy spread her wings and flew in the direction of Sugarcube Corner.
I sure hope they still have some muffins left, I'm so hungry, I could eat a horse.
She was almost at her destination, when she got distracted by Flitter.
"Hey Derpy, where are you going in such a rush?"
Still flying, she answered: "I'm going to Sugarcube Corner to get some mu-", before she could finish, she was interrupted by a familiar voice in front of her.
"Get out of the way, Derpy!"
Rainbow Dash? What the h-
That was the last thing Derpy heard, before she crashed into Rainbow Dash and fell unconcious.
"Why don't you watch where you're going, Derpy?" shouted the angry Rainbow Dash.
