The Adventures of Moon Brightby MoonBrightChaptersThe War of Fire and IceLife ChangesLife in the CastlePrologueIn the beginning...The War of Fire and IceNow comes some actual dialogue. Knock. Knock. Knock "Just a minute." Faith Flame says aloud to whomever was knocking. "Moon," she said turning to her son, who she was home schooling. "Yeff mum?" He said looking up from his paper, the pencil in his mouth muffling his speech. "Go to your room, and read chapter 6 in your mathematics book. I'll be up after whoever is knocking has gone. "Offay mum" he got up, pencil still in his mouth, got his paper and went upstairs and pretended to go to his bedroom. Faith waited a minute before she walked towards the door, and opened it with a smile, only for said smile to be turned into a frown at the sight of Fire Kingdom Military officials standing at her door. "Good evening, Faith Fla-" "It was until you showed up," Faith spat out, interrupting the official holding a scroll. "My, my, Faith Flame. Is that any way to address a superior, or an old friend?" he half-smirked. "What do you want?" She said, obviously faking a smile. "We are here to inform you that a war is about to take place between fire and ice ponies." "And?" raising an eyebrow towards him. "You are required, as a eligible fire pony and former commander, to help in the coming slaughter." the last couple words he said in a whisper. "You know I'm retired from that job, AND I have a kid." "Would it help to know that your father was caught on their territory and is now their prisoner?" She gasped, putting a hoof to her mouth. "GRANDPA?" Moon exclaimed leaning on his front hooves, and slipping down the stairs, ruining his hiding. "Moon!" she exclaimed as she rushed over to help him up. "I thought I told you to wait upstairs until I called you." obviously annoyed that he hadn't followed her orders. "I-I.....um.....but.......................you did" he said head hung low. "Sorry mom" "It's okay sweetie" she said, giving him a kiss on the forehead and turned back around to the visitors at the door. "Just give me 24 hours. M'kay?" she said in a soft voice that was clearly full of concern. "We will wait for your arrival" he said, and his assistant used his magic to teleport them both away, leaving a burn mark on the ground where they had stood. "Moon," "Yeah mom?" "Pack up your stuff, we're going to visit your dad" Moon rushed upstairs, happy but confused by the sudden visit to his dad while he was probably at work. Author's Note Fun Fact: Fire and Ice ponies were the idea of a pony from Ponysquare.com called Frost Bite. In one of her roleplays she describes how the two species are feuded against each other. Frost, if you're reading this: Why'd you leave? I'd love to roleplay some more sometime. If you feel my story could be any better, feel free to tell me. Like the formatting, actual dialogue, or general info. I'm gonna be doing these mostly at night, where my formality and grammar are worse but I have better ideas. Life ChangesKachink. Kachink. Kachink. It was almost night when the first got onto the train to Canterlot. As they rode off to the castle, Moon was starting to fall asleep to the rhythmic noises of the train. His mom gently stroking his mane that looked like a white flame against his equally white coat of fur. Humphff She sighed as she sit thinking about her father, what Silver Night would say, and how Moon would still get educated. A small amount of time later...... Moon asleep, and Faith nodding off, the train reached its destination at Canterlot castle. "Moon sweetie......." she said kissing him on the forehead. "We're here at the castle" "But.....I'm...........tired...." he said not moving. Slowly, she picked him up and put him on her back. "Oof. Man kiddo, your gettin' heavier." Slowly, with the help of a friendly passerby, she was able to get Moon and his stuff to to castle and knock on the large doors in front of her. A bit later, the door finally stirred a little. "Yes?" A guard said opening a peephole in the door. "I am Faith Flame, wife of Silver Night. I have an emergancy." Opening up the door, the guard apologized for taking so long. "Summon Silver Night, and tell him that it is his wife," the guard said to one of the two ponies who accompanied him "and help her by carrying that colt" he said to the other. In came rushing Silver Night, clad in armor, and gave his wife a hug. "What's the matter? What's happened? Is Moon hurt?" He rapidly questioned, seeing the worry in his wife's eyes. "I've been summoned to war against the ice ponies." "Faith, I thoug-" "Silver," she said sticking a hoof to his mouth. "they have my dad." "Oh..........." they sat in silence for a moment, taking in what happened. "Can you just make sure he gets taught? He has all his books here in this bag" "I'll find the best possible teacher" he said giving his wife a kiss before she hugged Moon, who was barely awake and weakly hugged back, and she left the castle. Life in the CastleMoon woke with a jolt, a looked around to see a scene different from his usual morning. He was in a room larger than his old one, the sun creeping in from a window facing the east. He heard a knocking on his door. Sheepishly, he got up out of the bed he was sleeping in, and went to the door and opened it. "Dad!" The colt said as he wrapped his hooves around his dad. "Hey, buddy. How'd you sleep?" "Good" he replied while rubbing his eyes with a hoof. "Breakfast is being served in the dining room. There should be some food left, unless the others have bottomless stomachs and already ate everything." "I'm not very hu-"grrrrrrrrrrrr Moon was interrupted by his stomach proving him wrong. So the two walked towards the dining room, Moon still not remembering what had happened the day before. Author's Note I.......I can't. I need to sleep. This chapter is going to be much longer than..........this. PrologueUnlike some ponies, my life (for the most part) has been very dull and uneventful. But I'm not here to tell you of all the days I spent thinking, pondering, and studying my books. But, I am here to tell you about some of the adventures I did have. However, if I were to skip straight to the adventures, you might know little to nothing about me. So, some boring must be written and read. So go get a snack and drink, and brace yourself for some boring. In the beginning...I was born in Ponyville on a clear winter's night. My mother, Faith Flame, was a fire pony with a mysterious background and stunning beauty. My father, on the other hand, was an ordinary pegasus of Celestia's royal guards, named Silver Night. Even in his lower position in the guards, his job seemed to me as important as any of the other guards. Every day and night he would be patrolling the castle, looking for trespassers or any odd events happening around the castle. Therefore he needed to live in Canterlot, where he could be at his post in less that a moment's notice if he was ever needed. My mom however, didn't little the hustle and bustle of Canterlot, but instead preferred her quiet life in the small town of Ponyville, even if the ponies feared her ability to control fire with her mind. Some unicorns couldn't control elements such as fire, and they possessed unicorn magic, where as my mother had no horn and no accompanying magic. Anyways, we lived in Ponyville while my dad lived in Canterlot. Occasionally, we would visit him, but he would always need to get back to working soon after we arrived. Disappointed, we would both get back on the train to Ponyville. Since I was able to effectively learn, my mother home-schooled me, teaching me to read and write, and emphasized that I learn Science and Mathematics. And for the longest time, my world was boring. That is, until one evening when we had a strange visitor... Author's Note Sorry for the EXTREMELY short chapter. When I write stories, I tend to be to-the-point and don't put in enough detail. I'll have longer chapters though.
