The Best Night She Could Offer
The clink of the glasses rang throughout the room. The wine cascaded down her throat in a a very blissful slither. She sighed wistfully, her mind softening and open to her surroundings. The sunset had been bleeding through her purple curtains, as the remainder of the daylight spilled upon the table between them. The elegant dinner Rarity had laid out for the two of them was almost finished, and Twilight was enjoying herself immensely.

“This is great, Rarity!” She cheered, the sound of her final sip of wine erupted through the room. “I've never had wine this rich.”
Rarity raised her eyebrow, as she grabbed her own glass. “I surprised you have had any at all,” She stated, genuinely surprised.
Twilight nodded. “Of course. Especially now that I'm actually royalty. I've had my share of glasses with the Princesses,” She said dismissively.
“Oh?” Rarity asked, very intrigued. “I can only imagine how drinking with the two of them must be like. I can only hope they're happy when they're... tipsy.”
Twilight giggled. “Luna is quite fun when she's had a few. Celestia can tolerate a lot more than her, but when she's had enough... I don't think I have ever laughed any harder in my life. May I have another drink.”
Rarity nodded, before pouring her another glass. “I take it you are enjoying yourself?”
“Oh, yes I am. But why all of this, Rarity? Seems a little... extravagant, doesn't it?” Twilight asks.
“Well, I just wanted to provide a dinner worthy of a princess,” She stated.
Twilight grimaced. “Rarity, you know I don't want any special treatment because of these stupid things,” She said, pointing to her new wings.
Rarity finished her glass. “That shouldn't stop me from showing that I care.” She looked away from her, cursing herself for her loose lips.
Twilight shifted uncomfortably. Rarity grew concerned, fearing she had let her intoxication escape with something she hid. Rarity was feeling the familiar, and fulfilling warmth of the alcohol, but she needed to control herself. Perhaps she had plenty to drink. Any further, and she might say something she'll regret.
“Are you sure you're alright, Rarity?” Twilight asked her. “You've had quite a few more drinks than I have.”
Rarity nodded uncertainly, her inebriated blush growing visible. “Yes dear... This is my favorite wine, is all.”
Rarity put her glass down, looking Twilight was the most serious expression she could muster. “Twilight, let us transition to a more... interesting topic.”
She looked at her with uncertainty. “Um, okay.”
Rarity poured herself another glass of the crimson water. She noted it's beautifully serene surface, as it glinted in the fleeting light. She swirled the glass around in her hand, as she prepared for another sip of the delicious poison. She sighed, content to simply sit in silence with the alicorn.
“Now that you are royalty, Twilight, do you think it will be more difficult to find your... special somepony?” She asked.
The question caught Twilight off guard, as she found herself gazing at Rarity with confusion. “Umm, I don't think it would be. I... haven't exactly been looking...” Her voice trailed off, shying away from the query. “Why do you ask?”
Rarity sighed wistfully. “I have to be honest with you Twilight. The thought of a significant other has been... tenacious lately. I find myself rather lonely as of late,” She stated, turning her gaze to the setting sun outside. “I feel as though I do nothing but work nowadays. I rarely have time to spend with you... and the others.”
Twilight grinned sheepishly, as she took another sip of her wine. “I know what you mean. These royal duties of mine have been taking up almost all of my time!” She shouted in frustration, as she continued on her tangent. “If it's not one council meeting, it's some foreign envoy that demands my attention! Royal greetings left and right, I feel like nothing more than a novelty to most of these ponies! And it sickens me! To them, I'm nothing more than a pony with a shiny new crown!”
Rarity was taken aback by her sudden outburst, obviously she was quite distressed by it all. She was glad she could be a part of her release.
Twilight took a deep breath. “Sorry, Rarity. I didn't mean to shout,” She said, still fuming.
Rarity smiled. “Think nothing of it, my dear. I know the life of a princess isn't all glamour and luxury, as much as I like to fancy. I understand it can be quite trying at times.”
“Still, I can't imagine what it must be like with your deadlines,” Twilight said. “Having to push yourself to your creative limits, with such a reputation on the line. I've only just started with my duties, but you've been at this for years now. I wish I had your determination.”
Rarity giggled. “But you do, Twilight. What about your studies? I've never seen a pony work as hard as you do when it comes to their academics. I feel we both should be praised!”
They shared their laughs, before drinking the remainder of their wine. Rarity smiled in content, watching Twilight continue to drink with a special glint in her eye. She liked the way her hair glistened in the dying sunlight. The way her face was flustered from the alcohol was adorable to her, and even beautiful. Rarity's eyes were drawn to Twilight's lips, as the crimson water slid from the glass and toppled over the lusciously damp seams, washing over that wonderfully silky tongue of hers. Twilight looked back in confusion, as Rarity began to absently bit her lower lip. “Is everything alright, Rarity?”

Much to Rarity's glee, Twilight didn't seem too distraught. “I don't know, Rarity...”
In a slurred sultry voice, Rarity spoke, “I have been quite infatuated with you, deary. I've been waiting for this night for quite some time, and wanted to make sure everything was perfect. I find myself attracted to you, and I want you to know how much I mean it.” Her hands began to find their way south.
Twilight shifted. “Rarity, this isn't right...”
“Why? What is so wrong about it? This isn't something that should be decided by cold logic, Twilight. Let your heart speak for once. Let your passion take over, the passion I know you've been holding back--”
