Chapters The universe is smaller than you think...
The insistent ringing from that explosion sent him for a loop. He lay strewn on the grass, mentally discombobulated, now knowing his left from right. He endured worse, but this was giving him a run for his money. He felt a liquid filling up his visor, clicking a button on his helmet, the visor and face mask opened up, letting the liquid drain as he sat up in the grass. The electro magnetic wave armor he dawned was malfunctioning, at least that's what he could tell, being temporally blind was inconvenient. As his eyes slowly regained vision he saw a small town in the distance, he also discovered that the liquid that was bleeding from his eyes was not blood, but phazon. The battle he was in must have made him use the phazon driver in his suit. Not immediately concerned about the phazon, he got up, bones aching, wounds burning. The EM wings were also unconventionally heavy, to him at least. Every step felt like a thousand as he walked towards the town. He didn't know what universe he stumbled upon, but it sure as hell was better than the one he came from. Due to Ivo Robotnik discovering how to rip a hole in the space time continuum, he recently invaded earth with all his forces. Obviously Mobius was not enough for him. This event was known as the Badnik wars. What was even more perturbing was that Russia and china have sided with Robotnik. He shook the thought from his head. He needed to get his suit back up and operational, and also identify the universe he was in at the moment.
Finally he made it to the town. He looked around, one eye, oddly worse than the other. He then tried to focus on the multiple figures that appeared to be looking at him. From what he could tell, they were not bipedal, but instead- His thought was interrupted as he started to cough, then proceeding to puke on the ground and collapse. Everything went black. he only picked up small clips of voices as he laid there.
"You finally woke up" A female voiced said as he started to open his eyes. Looking over he saw a purple unicorn looking intently at him. he go the feeling that she was naturally curious about new things. He sat up and noticed that he was in a hospital bed, with no armor. The suit must have ran out of power, finally. He then clued into what universe this was.
"Twilight sparkle I presume?: he said rubbing his neck in pain.
"How did yo-"
"When you look over the time space continuum, you tend to know things." he replied, cutting her off. He looked at Twilight with a blank expression as he climbed down from the hospital bed. He then proceeded to walk towards her.
"You have a lab in your basement correct" he asked.
"Wait, how the hay do you know these things!" Twilight yelled at him.
"I will explain in due time, mean while, where are my clothes?" He said walking towards the window, rubbing his eyes.
"O-Over there" The unicorn said raising her hoof towards the coat hanger.
He walked over and started to put on his clothes, thinking of how he was going to open a dimensional rift to get back to his world. He could always use his PDRS that was built into his suit. The only concern was that it was damaged in the battle that just occurred. He then started to think about how many times he has cheated death, was the only the 6th time? He shook his head and then looked to the door and started to walk towards it only for a purple glow to envelope the door.
"You can't leave you know." Twilight told him with a concerned face.
He gave her a disappointed look, then turned to the door and touched it. the purple veil vanished, he then opened the door. Looking back at the unicorn, who seemed to be in shock at what just happened, he motioning to her to come along. shaking her head she cautiously followed him. Twilight then noticed that everyone had stopped moving, they were frozen in time as it seemed. They then exited the hospital, everyone was still frozen, which made her more concerned.
" What the hay is going on" she muttered.
"If you must know, I come from another universe. One that is in, a interesting situation s to say. And I fear that I may have brought the war to this universe. I am Kira, people tend to call me the time keeper, or overseer of time. I watch over the space time continuum, and also monitor activities that happen between other universes. People like to call it the multiverse. I call it home. It is my duty to prevent anything that could destroy the multiverse and the flow of time from happening. I need your help specifically. You and your friends hold a power equal to the emeralds I hold" He explained.
"The Elements of harmony?" Twilight asked.
"Precisely" Kira said. He then continued to walk towards the town center, studying the surroundings. He knew that if Robotnik made it here it would be a easy victory and a tactical advantage. Why? well the resources were very rich in this world, the ponies did not ravage it but instead took care of it, which tells him that there is still lots of crude oil and raw metals in the crust of the planet. But the victory would be easy because of the chaos emeralds he had, they would easily break through any sort of magical defense they would put up. Of course the magical aspect of this world was immense, the mana pool was larger than usual. This was because of the unicorns only being able to use magic, along with the alicorns. He then started to think that magic wasn't really his thing, sure he was proficient in battle magic, mostly of the dark sort, but he tended to draw the blade in the heat of battle than draw from the mana pool. Catching himself before he got to lost in his thoughts he found himself at the library which was built into a tree.
"Can you open this?"
"Y-yeah I can, but I need a better explanation than the one you gave me. I am still a little lost in what is happening" Twilight said as she unlocked the door. She walked into the library, leading him to the table at the center. They bot sat down, looking at each other. There was a silence that ensued that lasted for what it seemed like forever. he breathed heavily and began to speak.
"As you are aware, I said that I may have brought a war to your world. This is all my fault... I broke one of the laws I abided by and acted on my emotions. this led to what man-kind calls the Badnick wars. I know that you have studied humans, vaguely because of the lack of information you have in the books in this library. Regarding the Elements of Harmony, they contain the same magical powers that are held in these Soul Emeralds. Every dimension has its own version of a ultimate magical power, yours are obviously the Elements of Harmony. I need to talk to your princess of the sun, so I hear they call her, to talk about the situation. If we cannot go today, that is fine, but it needs to be as soon as possible. As for me, what I am will be revealed in due time dear Twilight. I can though give you books about human history." Twilight had a confused but amused look, a twinkle in her eye. She nodded and turned her head around.
"Spike! I need you to take a letter to Princesses Celestia. Now." Twilight shouted and then turned back.
"This better not be a joke Kira, I am dead serious." Twilight told him.
"I do not lie, for I fear it may be to late..." Kira murmured, looking out the window at the storm that was brewing.

The storm raged against the window as Kira peered out, looking over the town. He couldn't tell if this was a planned storm by the pegasi or a natural phenomenon. His thoughts were scattered by a knocking sound that came from the front door. The voice that followed the door opening was a brash sounding voice, which was backed up by Twilights voice and the sound of a rain storm. The voice sounded very confused and angry. It asked if Twilight knew about this storm and if it was planned without her knowing. This puzzled Kira even more. Had the transportation to this world caused a influx in mana? If this was so the mana pool of this world was rejecting the mana from which Kira draws his. To make matters worse he could feel his phazon manifestation getting worse, which means he needed to get his EM Wave suit working soon.
"Kira, I would like you to meet one of my friends, Rainbow Dash" Twilight said as she walked up behind him. The blue Pegasus looked at Kira, giving him a very fascinated look. She trotted up to him and did a couple circles around examining his body, growing more puzzled in every examination she did.
"You are the Weirdest pony I have every seen" Rainbow finally said.
"Well... that's because he isn't one, he is a human." Twilight explained giving a slight smile and a chuckle.
"A human? That's new... What can he do?" Rainbow chuckled
"I can do lots of things, but right now my primary concern is that storm out side. Tell me Rainbow, did you know that a storm was scheduled for today? I do know that you help schedule the storms." Kira questioned as he started to pace beside the window.
"That's what I came to see Twilight about! What the buck do those ponies think they are doing, Apple Jack had to do her harvests today!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed.
"I fear that it was not your brothers and sisters Rainbow. I have a feeling that the mana I brought with me caused a monster to rise from the ever free forest. Twilight, you have your fuse box in the basement right?" Kira asked.
"Y-yes, why do you ask?"
"I am charging my EM wave suit and heading out to the eye of the storm." Kira stated running downstairs.
"Wait! You can't go into the middle of a storm that is suicide!" Twilight yelled.
"I can tell there is no stopping him... I am going with him." Rainbow dashed down the stairs. Twilight was standing there puzzled. She then let out a sigh and shrugged knowing that there was nothing she could do.
Down stairs Kira ripped open the fuse box and plugged in his EM gauntlet into the out lit found in the box, the house then went dark. He then heard someone trip and fall down the stairs. Not initially concerned about that he looked at his gauntlet. It was charged, enough at least for a battle if he needed to fight one. He then clicked the wave transform button on the gauntlet. Electricity shot from the gauntlet and enveloped him for a brief second. everything went dark.
Rainbow was rubbing her head and mumbling to herself. She was then blinded by a brilliant light that lit up the whole room like an explosion. After everything went dark she rubbed her eyes and squinted at the figure that stood beside the fuse box. Red lines started to glow in a pattern, then the visor glowed a deep crimson red. The suit dawned some light on the figure who she could only assume was Kira. Red bolts of electricity bolted out of the wing like appendages on his back and the skeleton of the suit wings spread filling with a bright red haze of electro magnetic waves. Rainbow dash looked in awe, she was stunned at the spectacle. She never before had seen anything like this. Then Rainbow that she was face to face with Kira as he walked towards the stairs.
"So I heard you wanted to come with me." Kira stated walking past her up the stairs.
"Yeah if that's okay with you." She said giving a embarrassed smile.
"As long as you are not in the way, it is fine by me." Kia told her.
"What in Celestias name went on down there!?" Twilight shouted at Kira as he walked towards the front door. she was obviously pissed off, and wanted to be in the loop of things.
"I used the fuse box to power my wave suit. Rainbow and I are gong to check out what's going on with that storm, if you don't hear from us... prepare for the worst." Kira then flew off leaving scorched grass behind outside the front door. Rainbow soon followed him. Twilight bit her lip, feeling quite concerned about the situation that was developing. She wondered about he possibility of Equstria going into a war as Kira said. She then went to lay in her bed and think things over.

Both the human and the Pegasus flew towards the eye of the storm, Kira flying faster than usual.
" So... What are you looking for in the eye of the storm?" Rainbow Dash asked Kira and she flew along side him. she could also feel the heat that the suit generated as she kept steady pace with him.
" I am hoping that it is only a temporal anomaly, but chances are it is a rift dragon. these storms only appear when one finds a tear in the fabric of space in time, it tends to jump into the universe and destroy everything that lives here. I have only face three of them in my life. Only one defeated me, and in turn, destroyed a close friend of mine and his whole entire race. You could say that me and these creatures have "bad blood"" Kira explained. He was then about to open his mouth again when a ball of blue flames burst out of the cloud hitting Rainbow Dash in the wing.
"KIRA!" She screamed in pain as she fell into a tree bellow. Kira looked up to the clouds in anger and lifted his equipped arm cannon and shot furiously into the eye of the storm.
"Foolish Kira... you may be wise in many ways, but the rift will always have your soul, we want it back you know." a voice said through the clouds. the voice was familiar to Kira, then the realization hit him.
"Xerxes... why are you here? what are your dealings with this world?" Kira shouted back.
"Its not about our dealings with this world, it is a bout our dealings with you, I am only a herald of your demise, your death is inevitable." the voice replied.
"Like hell it is!" Kira fired repeatedly into the cloud, hitting nothing. the storm then dispersed and the sky settled. panting he turned his attention to the downed Pegasus who laid in the trees bleeding. Her wing was missing, her skin was also scorched, looking like third degree burns. He flew down to retrieve her. Holding her into her arms he rushed to Twilights library.
"The rift huh? Sounds like a invitation to raise some hell. First lets get her to Twilights." Kira said flying off towards the library.

My thoughts behind this story (not a chapter)
the thing with this story is that I wanted to have a sort of realistic view of what would happen if war did come to Equstria. I think it would be a interesting scenario to write about. In all reality I think that Equstria would not even stand a chance, even with magic. So the whole premise of this story is how Kira is going to get Equstria out of this problem and the risks he is going to take. They could only hold off fro a time with their magic, but the other thing that is relevant to this situation is the fact that Dr.robotnik has fought Kira before and has found ways to negate his magic and other various strategy.
Another problem Kira is facing is relationships. he tends to be a introvert, but has had a wife in the past, what happens will be explained in due time. maybe expect some shipping, but i am not actually sure who to use, send a suggestions. along with relationship issues he has to deal with health issues and depression. he may sometimes lack the motivation to save people or fight. I don't want him to come across as all powerful and perfect, because he is exactly the opposite. I just have a tough time actually depicting that. I think that Kira's past plays a huge role in how he acts towards characters and what he does with them, I just hope that I can make a good story arc that incorporates his past. these are just my thoughts, please give feed back so I know how I am doing
Kira sat outside the general hospital deep in thought. Xerxes was directly responsibly for starting the Badnick wars back on earth. Robotnik in the first place was almost there to discovering inter dimensional travel. with the power he has already with the master emerald, all he needed to do was rip a hole in the space time continuum. Kira's long time rival, Xerxes gave him the technology to do this, what was inevitable, was just sped up. Kira and the freedom fighters did have a chance to stop him but to ensure that no one interfered with his plans, he eliminated them, this time he made sure they were dead. this was done through means of a nuclear missile which he launched from the death egg. besides a few mobians. the whole population was wiped out, something that haunted Kira up to this day. Kira sighed and lit a cigar, a habit he had just picked up recently along with drinking. He knew it wasn't good, but he didn't seem to care. he rested his head on his arm and blew out a puff of smoke which was carried away in the wind. He thought of the rift dragons, the pain they have caused him. They have been with him since he was 15 years of age, when he took over the job as the time keeper. He usually avoided them at first when they attacked him, but then he started to fight back, the first one he fought was Xerxes who defeated him and caused Kira to retreat, he lost his right arm to that battle. The scond run in was more devastating, though he defeated him, he never got the chance to slay Xerxes. In turn Xerxes made Kira pay for that fact by killing his wife and child before he escaped. Kira never knew sympathy since that day.
The actual scheduled rain storm was in set motion just as Kira finished his cigar. He didn't really care if his clothes got wet at this point. All he seemed to bring to the people around him was pain and agony. Getting up from where he sat, he walked into the lobby of the hospital where he saw Twilight sitting with a worried face. Kira couldn't disagree with the portrayed emotion. He went and sat down across from Twilight Sparkle. He tried to avoid eye contact with her as he leaned back and looked up at the roof. his bones were still in pain from the sudden teleportation that sent him to this world. Noticing that Twilight was looking at him he shut his eyes, trying to ignore her. A sudden stomp on his foot blasted the darkness from his mind.
"What the hay did you do to Rainbow dash?" She yelled into his ear.
"I didn't do anything, it was a rift walker! I don't shoot fire balls with a blue hue to them!" Kira yelled back as he grabbed his foot. His teeth were clenched as he looked up to see tears fall from Twilights cheeks as she bit her lip. He knew she was concerned for her, but he lacked the sympathy to relate to her.
"You know, some one dear to me was taken by one of them." Kira said softly.
"You expect me to believe your story, I cant just trust some one who just showed up in my world! And the fact that Rainbow gets hurt when you take her along is just to... odd for me to let go!" she screamed back as blood began to fall from her lip. Her emotions were to strong for her to listen to him right now, Kira could only hope to at least get part of his past out.
"Please let me tell the story to you Twilight."
"Fine, go ahead, tell me your "story"." Twilight pouted.
"Long ago I was married... I meet this girl when I travelled back in time to seek out my origins. I never thought I would meet a girl while I explored for the solution. I married her, she bore me a son, we settled in the 16th century in Norway. for a time a was a king there. That's when he showed up... Something people call rift walkers. I occasionally encountered them from time to times, but never fought them. This one though, was different. He wanted me dead, unlike the others who wanted me alive so they could torture me for the rest of my mortal life. His name was Xerxes. A battle ensued after he introduced himself in a rather brutish fashion. he defeated me, but I barely escaped with my life. I decided that I couldn't defend my family if I couldn't defeat him, so I trained to get stronger, faster, more versatile. I encountered him a second time. This time at the castle I looked over. I defeated him, but I took sympathy on the creature, which I never should have. he asked me before he did the terrible deed, "What do you value the most?", I looked at him in confusion only to see him fire a fireball at the location my wife and child where hiding in. I never saw them again. while I was out cold from the explosion he escaped taking my hope for a life with him...". Kira sat there looking blankly into at the wall. Twilight sat beside him listening intently. He sighed and got up to walk towards the reception desk. he chuckled to him self.
"You know... Rainbow dash reminds me of her a lot... it seems that most things do now." Kira said as he rang the bell at the reception desk. life had been cruel to Kira, all he knew was to run from his problems, which worked for a short period of time before he actually had to deal with them.
"Excuse me? is Rainbow dash ready for visitors? it has been 8 hours since she was checked in." Kira told the nurse.
"Let me check... yes I think she is ready to take visitors, she is in room 223.". The nurse said as she looked at the clip board.
"Thank you." Kira said turning around then proceeding towards Twilight who was crying as she couldn't process what was happening to her world.
Chaos seemed to be engulfing this world as soon as Kira got there. maybe it was the fact that the rift walkers had tracked him so quickly. this told him that they were out for his blood more than ever now. Oddly when he thought of what happened back there to Rainbow Dash it made him want to protect this world more.
Him and Twilight finally reached room 223, the silence would continue until they entered the hospital room. Maybe the silence was a good thing. as he opened the door, all he could think about is what Xerxes said to him, these words would haunt him for the rest of the day.
"I will never fly again... will I?" Rainbow Dash said staring out of the hospital room's window. she laid still not moving, the sound of tears hitting the bed sheets and the pillow. Her motions were obviously ones of a depressed individual. Of course she would be depressed though, she did nearly die. This state of shock seemed to overwhelm her body. Rainbow laid there paralyzed. The sound of silence was abundant in the room as the last light of dusk protruded into the room. No words were spoken for the first minutes when Kira and Twilight Sparkle entered. What a ill situation that had occurred, the shock of seeing things that were not normal in this world must have proven to be disturbing. Though on the other hand, this world was filled with mythical beasts, and talking ponies. Thinking that it was finally appropriate to break the silence, Kira spoke with a very soothing voice to Rainbow dash.
"We don't know that for sure... I am sorry, this is all my fault. I-I caused unnecessary commotion in your world, all I can do is appolig-"
"NO, THATS NOT ALL YOU CAN DO! THANKS TO WHAT EVER THE HELL YOU ARE AND WHATEVER THE FUCK YOU BROUGHT TO THIS WORLD I LOST MY WING! YOU ALSO HAVE THE NERVE TO COME INTO THIS ROOM AN-AND TALK TO ME!? WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE!?" Rainbow dash shouted at Kira while she hurled the pillow at him. She contorted enough to throw the pillow straight at Kira, even though the pain she felt was immense. she then threw herself and tackled Kira, the anger she was displaying was nothing Rainbow had felt before.
The time it took for both Kira and Rainbow dash to hit the ground seemed to last forever, to Kira at least. This spark of fury, anger, rage, hate, it reminded him of some one he was very fond of in the past. He saw every little event that happened between the time they left the bed, to the time they hit the floor. Twilight reacted slower, jumping at them. The nurse rushed in with the doctors following. The dusk light struck Rainbows eyes as they fell. Kira felt his head hit the floor, shock waves from the impact reverberating though his skull. He saw her lift a hoof, and then the world went black.
Surprisingly the force from her for hoof caught kira off guard, then again he was not wearing his E.M. wave suit so the blow was not cushioned by his armor. He woke up in a dark room, presumably another room in the ward. he had bandages on his head from the wound Rainbow had given him. He got up slowly rubbing the back of his head and then proceeded to look out the window at the beautiful night sky. Something about the night always appealed to him, whether it was the moon or the millions of stars that filled the sky. It was too bad that the galaxy wasn't visible back on earth, the sky was constantly lit up with heavy fire and flak from the defenses. Kira turned his body and got off of the bed he was laid on. Though it struck him as a bad Idea, he thought he would go and at least try to reason with Rainbow Dash. Though the hospital had a curfew on patients which is a reasonable request, Kira opened the door and walked down the hall back to Rainbow's room. He heard thumping from the inside, getting curious he proceeded to open the door.
Rainbow quickly flung her body under the pillows and tried to look like she was asleep. The covers we lit up in the light of the moon that hung in the sky so predominantly. Kira walked toward the bed and sat down beside it resting his arm on the edge of the bed.
"Rainbow... look... I am sorry for what happened. I should have never allowed you to come. I failed to protect someone, and I feel terrible for it. You know... you remind me of some one who I was very close to, she died so young... all because of what I did, my shortcomings. Some one told me this and it has always stuck with me... the man told me this before he died in my arms... "where ever you go, death follows, you demon." Death has always been with me..." Kira sighed as he looked into the darkness of the room.
"what makes you think I will forgive you? why do you continue to talk to me?" Rainbow's voice cracked as tears rolled down her face.
"I am not asking you to forgive me, but I find you fascinating out of all the rest that i have met so far, the fact that you still attacked me while you were injured, and hooked up to the ive's no less was impressive, usually people just tell each other off when injured."
"So? what does this have to do? are you trying to flatter me or something?" rainbow retorted back. she then turned to Kira and stared him straight in the face. Her eyes like jewels in the night, those that were filled with fire and anger, but were soothing to look at.
"You never know... Say, what if I told you that i could get you off the ground and air born?" Kira told her while standing up.
"What do you mean you can get me air born again?" she said looking puzzled and even more confused trying to think about it. Kira gave her a soft look and put his hand on her head.
"Now that's for me to figure out, I promise you, this is the least I can do for you for what I have put you through. Goodnight Rainbow Dash." Kira told her as he removed his hand from her head and walked towards the door.
"Pinkie promise?" Rainbow Dash asked in a concerned but meek voice. Kira smiled at her and sighed.
"Yes I pinkie promise you, whatever that means. Goodnight"
"Ye-yeah... goodnight" Rainbow dash answered back.
Rainbow dash was puzzled at the fact that she just agreed to the person she is so angry at, but at the same time felt comfort in the words he spoke to her. She draped the covers over her head and cried softly until she fell asleep und the moons watch. Kira sat outside of the door wondering to his dismay how he would get her off the ground again. At the same time, thoughts ran through his head. Through the depths of his despair, he always seems to find a ray of light in the abyss.
