"When Stanley came to a set of two open doors, he entered the door on his left."
Ah, finally. Choice! Stanley pondered this for about two moments, and entered the door on his right.
"This was not the correct way to the meeting room, and Stanley knew it perfectly well. Perhaps he wanted to stop by the employee lounge first, just to admire it.
Stanley walked through a twisting and turning hallway until he walked into a blue room, full of your usual lounge items.
"Ah, yes. This room was truly worth admiring."
Stanley walked out of the room into a long hallway with two open doors near the end of it.
"But eager to get back to business, Stanley took the first open door on his left."
Stanley ripped the door off its hinges and ran away. Stanley didn't want to listen to the voice in his head, so he walked past the door and into another room, which was a storage room.
"Stanley was so bad at following directions it's incredible he wasn't fired years ago. Perhaps this is why everyone had left. Nobody wanted to work with such a bad person."
Annoyed, Stanley walked up to a big yellow platform, and contemplated wether or not he should go on it and pay 1, 000 dollars. Not caring because he didn't know his current money situation, he stepped onto the platform amd it whirred to life, bringing him up.
"Look Stanley, perhaps we've gotten off at the wrong foot here. I'm not your enemy, really, I'm not! I know investing your trust in someone else can be difficult, but the fact is that the story has been about nothing but you, all this time! There's someone you've been neglecting Stanley. Someone you've forgotten about. Please, stop trying to make every decision for yourself. Now I'm not asking for me, I'm asking for her.
Wondering who this "her" was, Stanley had realized that the platform had stopped working, so he stepped off.
"This is it Stanley. Your chance to redeem yourself, to let her back into your life!
Confused, Stanley decided to walk into the dark room ahead of him and think deeply about his life. Walking In, the door closed shut behind him, and a light loudly turned on, startling Stanley. In the middle of the room was a small table with a telephone on it, and it was ringing.
"That's her, Stanley. You need to do this for yourself." The voice had gone from serious to dramatic in two seconds.
Stanley didn't wamt topick up the phone, and he didn't want to hear it ring either. Stanley found the phone's power plug, and took it out of the outlet.
"Oh nononono- did you- did you just unplug the phone? Did you really choose incorrectly? Was that even possible? Let me double check. (Papers rustling) No, it's here, clear as day. Stanley picks up the phone, finds his wife, and they pledge themselves to one another. Fade screen, roll credits. So how did you do that? Was it-"
Suddenly, everything started flashing white. Stanley instanly started pounding on the door, trying to get it to open.
"Oh, no what's going on now?!"
And then everything went black.
This is all your fault, Stanley.
As Stanley went back to the world of the awake, he first looked around. He no longer was in his office building, but he was in a valley. Stanley had rarely seen the outside before, and he was exited to finally be there. But soon his happiness faded away when he heard that voice again.
"Stanley, I've been contemplating this for a while and I've come to a decision. This, is all your fault. If you had listened to me before and took the door on the left, everything would have gone as planned. But no, you had to go through the door on the right, and THEN choose INCORRECTLY!" The voice began sounding aggressive. "You could have lead a happy life if you picked up the phone! You and your wife would live forever down in history as the greatest family! You even would have a child! And you also would-"
Stanley was surprised by the sudden stopping of the voice. After a few moments passed, it started up again. And this time it sounded concerned.
"Stanley, whatever you do, do NOT try to do anything to that... thing behind you. Just keep walking forward, and everything should be fine.
Stanley walked full speed ahead, not wanting to face almost certain death to him. But the thing was faster. It could run. It tackled Stanley to the ground, and when it flipped him over to his back, he got a good look at it.
It looked like a glowing, wooden wolf. Now Stanley was never taught about something like this. He had read a book about the outdoors while waiting for commands to appear in room 427, and it taught him almost everything about it. He even knew how photosynthesis worked! But it had never taught him about glowing wooden wolves. Stanley wanted to scream, but the book, nor anything had taught him how to use his vocal cords, (Which, as a matter of fact, the book did teach him about everything about the human body too!) so he all the could do is just lay there, and try to escape. But all of his escaping attempts were blocked by the wooden wolf. Stanley wanted the voice to say anything, but it never said anything until the wolf was flung off of Stanley by an unknown force. As Stanley stood up, He had taken minor damage by the tackling, and some escape attempts that had been failed by the wolf swinging its claws at him. The voice said something now, and it sounded urgent.
"Hurry, Stanley! RUN!"
Stanley wanted to know what running was really badly right now, and all he could do is walk.
"STANLEY! RUNNING IS WALKING, EXCEPT YOU MOVE YOUR LEGS REALLY FAST!"
Stanley, now knowing what running was, blasted off into a weak run, but was getting stronger over time. When he was about to reach an almost world-record breaking run, was tackled again. But not by a wooden wolf, but by a smaller thing. He was flipped over onto his back again, and Stanley was about to get tired of that. But, he came face to face with the most gigantic eyes he ever saw.
They were a bright green, any brighter and Stanley would have gone blind! He never saw colors that dynamic before! Sure, once in a while he saw a bright yellow warning icon, but that green!
Stanley was so focused on the greenness of the creatures eyes that he didn't even notice it calling for reinforcements. Soon, multiple of this strange, multi-colored creatures ran, or galloped? up to Stanley. Stanley now broke out of the trance of the green eyes, and looked at the four things that were staring at him, and clearly the voice wasn't so thrilled at this. The longer Stanley looked, the more they became seemingly curious and aggressive.
"Stanley, could you do me a favor and ask them where we are? I know you weren't trained at all to speak, but lease, make your vocal cords vibrate in a way that they can understand. I'll thank you so much if you're able to pull this off, they look like they want to hurt you. Better be quick."
The voice was correct, they looked like they were ready to attack. Stanley took a deep breath, and tried to speak.
"Bluioflug... aug. Wh- Where am I?"
A surprised look from the green-eyed creature was the answer to his question. Stanley was also surprised, because he never talked in his life. To Stanley the voice spoke miracles, because the green-eyed creature got off of him. Once the creature was far enough for Stanley to get a good look at it, he did.
Its skin, or was it fur? was orange, and it had white freckles on it's face. It was two-thirds as large as Stanley, and it stood on all four legs. Stanley was unsure still if this was all real or not, he had heard in his office that some people are put into simulations to see if they're good enough for emergency preparation. But he was sure that it was real, or else how would he feel the pain from the wooden wolf?
Stanley nearly jumped out of his skin when the creature spoke back.
"You... can talk?" the creature asked with a bit of fear in its voice.
Stanley was wondering the same thing when all of a sudden he was tackled again! (Gettin' real tired of your crap, creatures.) Once Stanley was no longer in shock, he found who had tackled him.
It was three, smaller of the kind of creature the orange one was. Stanley figured that these tree things were children, and they too, could talk.
"You aren't getting mah big sis' you crazy creature!" A yellow and pink one said as it held down on Stanley.
"Yeah, you! Get away!" the purple and orange one exclaimed.
"Yeah, what they said!" the white one agreed.
Stanley could easily overpower them and stand up, but he didn't feel like getting knocked down again. He was about to try to talk again when he heard the voice again.
"Awww, these are so adorab- I mean, Stanley, get away from these hideous things."
But Stanley just didn't feel like obeying this voice. He felt like he wanted to stay and use this new power he acquired: Speech. Couldn't the creatures hear the voice?
He resumed trying to talk. "Bles- Uh... Yes, I can trek- I mean talk."
The three small creatures looked at him in surprise. They had not heard him talk, They were in their meeting place when they had saw him. The small creatures kept their grip on Stanley, while the yellow and pink one yelled, "Applejack! Are you hearin' this? This thing just talked!"
The orange and yellow creature, apparently named "Applejack," replied with "Yes, I know, Applebloom. Could you three get off of him so we can talk?" Stanley became surprised by this, as he thought these things were hostile.
The tree things got off of Stanley, and he stood to his full height. Applejack was a bit frightened by him, but wanted to see what he would do. Stanley scratched the back of his head with his hand. "So, uh... PLE- Where am I again?" Stanley's skills at talking were getting better. Applejack simply replied, "Well, you're at Sweet Apple Acres! I hope yah don't mind me askin', but where are yah from?"
Stanley replied, "Uh... Room 427?"
Applejack was confused by Stanley's response. She had never heard of a place like that, She didn'e even think Twilight would know of a place like that! She tried asking again. "Ah, sorry, but could yah' maybe be more descriptive in where you're from?"
Stanley thought hard about this. The only thing he could be more descriptive about is, "Uhh... Room 427 in an office building?" Stanley had quickly mastered speaking, he was finally able to make conversations without sounding like he was vomiting.
"Hmm... never heard of it. Anyway, since you seem to be friendly, I'd like to introduce you to everypony here!"
"Everypony?" Stanley was trying to hold back a laugh, but what was a laugh to him?
"Uhh, yah. Everypony." Applejack replied back with a bit of confusion.
Stanley remembered the two other apparently ponies who had ran up to Applejack. One was red, the other green, old and worn-out looking.
Applejack spoke, "This here is Big Mac, my big brother, her right next to him is Ol' Granny Smith. The three other ones sitting over there are Applebloom, Scootalo, and Sweetie Belle. Uh, what's your name anyway?"
Stanley quickly replied, "Stanley, or Employee 427, if you want to call me that."
Applejack was still trying to figure out this "427" number. She would have to dig deeper into him to find out more. But first things first, she would have to introduce him to all of her friends."
"Ehh, sure. Stanley, would you like me to take you down to Ponyville and meet some of my other friends that I have? I'm sure that they won't be mean to you, I promise."
Stanley was a bit skeptical at this, he thought that maybe these were the only ponies here, but he was wrong.
"Uhh, yeah, sure. Lets go." Stanley said, trying to sound a bit more dynamic.
"Well alrighty then, lets go!" Applejack exclaimed, walking off towards what is apparently the direction where this "Ponyville" was.
"Wait!" the orange and purple pony said. Stanley needed to ask which one had which name. "How do you know this thing won't be a danger to everypony?"
"Don't worry, Scootaloo," Applejack said. "I'll make sure he won't. Come on, Stanley!"
Stanley reluctantly followed Applejack. After a few minutes of awkward silence while walking, they finally came to an ending of Sweet Apple Acres, and into this "Ponyville" Stanley was wondering about. As soon as Stanley took a single step over the border line, All he saw has giant blue eyes.
"OOOOOH, I've never seen a creature like you before!" a high pitched voice said out of seemingly nowhere. "Where are you from? Did you make friends with Applejack? Ooh, we should have a welcome to Ponyville party for you! It'll be so much fun! Wh-"
The eyes were pulled away from him as Applejack pushed the pink pony away from Stanley.
"Ahem, Pinkie. This is Stanley. Stanley, this is Pinkie Pie." Applejack said with a bit of annoyance at Pinkie Pie.
Stanley heard the voice again. "Stanley, you don't know what you're getting into. Get away from these things! I don't know what they are! They're probably planning to trap you and kill you!"
"Oooh, who do you have with you Stanley?" Pinkie Pie asked. Stanley became shocked that apparently only this "Pinkie Pie" was the only one who could hear the voice also. "Is he a ghost? Do you have a ghost friend with you? What's his name?"
"Uh, Pinkie, what are you talkin' about? Last time I saw, Stanley didn't have a ghost with him. Heck, I would be surprised if ghosts were actually real!" Applejack replied with confusion in her voice.
"You don't hear it Applejack? The voice with the weird accent? It's coming right from Stanley! And he isn't talking!"
"Uh... Why are you the only one that can hear it?" Stanley asked. Applejack gave both of them confused looks, and just shook her head, not wanting to partake in this conversation.
"Oh, you silly filly! I just can!" Pinkie responded.
"Yes, you can, but why?" Stanley repeated.
"Because I can!" Pinkie responded simply.
Stanley heard the voice again. "Oh, I guess I can communicate with you, erm... Pinkie. I'm a bit concerned how you can hear me too. are you able to give us a valid reason?"
"I did, silly! Because I can!" Pinkie responded, Applejack daydreaming away.
The voice spoke again. "I give up. Come on, Stanley, lets see where Applejack wants you to go."
"Alrighy then, voice!" Pinkie said. "APPLEJACK! Stanley wants to see what else you have to show him!"
"Well, ok then," Applejack responded with a smile. "Lets go!"
