During one of the first Nightmare Nights, only a few decades after the Banishment, the last living Batpony in Canterlot gets ready to another night of songs and earning a few bits; but this is a night of portents, and who knows what the stars have in store for him?

Maybe there's still one small light burning, even for an old and tired minstrel… and the encounter with a very particular earth pony might prove to be just a hint of something greater… far greater… that awaits him.
