Destinies Intertwined
Chapter 11
Previous ChapterNext ChapterCaramel examined the contents of the wall in front of him, on it were his necessary tools for Changeling hunting:
A shotgun,
sniper,
handcuffs,
...a bazooka (in his defence, they needed something to bring Chrysalis down.),
and the keys to his car: an Aston Martin Vantage, which resided behind him, in the Apples barn, tarped.
He sighed, preparing himself for the coming evening. He might need everything, the lack of love this spy had, might drive her to...irrational measures…
Suddenly, he heard a noise. Big Macintosh and Granny Smith may have agreed to him staying at their house, but he still didn’t want anyone to find out about his...job. He flung a tarp over the weapons, standing nonchalantly by the tarped car.
One of the barn doors opened and both Applejack and Twilight came through, Applejack had her hand on Twilight’s forehead. “Take it easy, Sugarcube, let me get an ice pack for ya.” She saw Caramel, “‘Mel? Can you get an ice pack for Twilight?”
“Sure,” Caramel ran into the kitchen, he yanked open the door to the freezer and grabbed an ice pack. Next, he ran back to the barn and handed it to Applejack, who was hovering over Twilight, now sitting on the couch “Here you go.”
“Thanks, ‘Mel.” Applejack quickly put the ice pack on Twilight.
“You’re welcome. So, what happened to Twilight?”
“She was helpin’ me gather apples, and a branch hit her on the head.”
“Oh. Well, it could have been worse.”
“I guess...But it was my fault…”
“Applejack,” Twilight tried to sit up.
“Don’t get up, Twilight, ya need to stay still.”
Caramel saw Twilight’s wound for a split second:
Red Blood.
“Thank goodness….” Caramel uttered.
“Did ya say somethin, Mel,” Applejack asked.
“Yeah, thank goodness she’s still okay.”
“It’s no big deal!” Twilight tried to make her point, this time by getting up, but Applejack gently, but firmly, put her back down.
“Twilight, please, I’m being your friend and trying to keep you safe!”
“But Apple-”
“Girls, please!”
Both girls looked at Caramel.
“You’re both friends, and you need to act like it, unless you want what happened with Rarity to happen to you.”
Applejack sighed, “I’m sorry, Twi.”
Twilight lay back down, “It’s okay, and, I am feeling a little dizzy.”
Caramel breathed deeply, “Good, well, not the dizzy part, but the… yeah… I think you know what I mean.”
Applejack gave him a playful punch in the arm. “Thanks, ‘Mel.”
Caramel brushed the spot on his arm where she had punched, “Hey, Applejack, can I talk with you? In private?”
“Uh...I guess...Why?”
“It’s...important…”
Applejack shrugged and followed Caramel outside.
After Applejack followed him for a few moments, Caramel finally stopped, and turned to her. “Applejack...could you do something for me?”
“Sure, what is it?”
"Um...well… I… need you to… take a leak…”
“Say what now?”
“There’s a…” Caramel paused to think of something...then, “...disease, and it can only be revealed by urine.”
“Then shouldn’t Twilight be out here?”
“Uh...only earth ponies can get it.”
“How?”
“Urm….it has to do with… the dirt. Someone’s poisoned certain areas of it. If you touch it… you’ll fall into an eternal sleep in three days, having to wait for Prince Charming to wake you with a kiss.”
Applejack gave Caramel a strange look, “You’re not serious, are you?”
“Dead serious. My cousin stepped in it before falling asleep three days later. He never met anyone he liked; therefore, he sleeps forever.”
“Caramel, if this is some kinda weird attempt at a creepy story…”
“Honestly, you can’t make this stuff up.”
Applejack sighed, “Fine! I’ll take your...whatever story.”
“Good,” Caramel reached into his pocket and pulled out a cup, “Here ya go.”
“Are you-? Err! Fine,” Applejack takes the cup and goes behind a bush glaring at Caramel every second. She made a motion for him to turn away. Caramel got the message as he faced away from Applejack. He had to admit, Applejack did look kinda cute when she was mad. It was almost like- No, he had to keep his focus on the task at hand.
Eventually, Applejack finished up, and returned to Caramel. “Ya happy?”
Caramel examined the contents: She was a pony. “Yes, thank you. You’re fine.” Caramel smiled.
“Well...good, now if you’ll excuse me, much as I enjoy peein’ in a cup, I gotta check up on Twilight.” Suddenly, Applejack realized something, “Dagnabit… we won’t be able to attend the meteor shower, Twi’s gonna be ticked…”
“Well, it’s better she stays safe,”
“I guess…”
“Um….” Caramel kicked at the dirt a couple times, “Can I get my car out of the garage?”
“Uh, sure. The Aston Martin?”
Caramel froze, “Um...yeah...how did you know?”
“I know my expensive cars pretty well,” Applejack smirked, putting her hands on her hips.
‘Cute, strong, AND knows cars?’ Caramel whistled, “I’m impressed, considering it was under a tarp.”
“Uh-huh. Not sure how you could afford somethin’ like that, though.”
“Um…” Caramel tried to think, ‘...and smart...great.’
“W-well-”
“Ya didn't steal it, did ya?”
“N-no...I didn’t,” The truth was, it was his own car, Khai gave him the car as a gift for this mission. "It was from a friend."
“Really?”
“Really.”
Applejack stared at Caramel, “I don’t believe you….but I’ll have to trust you, for now…”
“Thank you, you have no idea what this means to me.”
“Um...You’re right, I do have no idea…” Applejack gave Caramel a strange look, before walking back to the barn.
“Well, time to go to work…” Caramel walked back to the barn, mentally preparing for the approaching night…

Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy, meanwhile were sitting at a table, eating the donuts that Mrs. Cake had kept for them. They were currently watching Pinkie Pie. “She seems fine to me,” Fluttershy noted.
“You mean for Pinkie?” Rainbow added.
Fluttershy shrugged, and took another bite of her donut.
“Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, are you there,” Caramel said through the earpieces.
Rainbow Dash answered, “Loud and clear.”
“Good. I just learned that neither Twilight Sparkle nor Applejack is not the spy.”
“So...it’s either Pinkie or Rarity?”
“Yes.”
“Well, we’ll keep our eyes on Pinkie,”
“Good, Applejack asked me to pick up her little sister, so I’m going to try and spy on Rarity when I’ve dropped her off.”
“Gotcha.” Suddenly, a thought crossed Rainbow’s mind, “How’d you find out?”
“Well, Twilight suffered an injury, and I saw her blood. And I asked Applejack to take a urine test.”
Rainbow’s eyes widened, “You got AJ to-” Rainbow burst into laughter.
“What’s so funny…?” Caramel asked.
“You putting AJ through the test.”
“Oh...she did look kinda cute…”
“What?!” Fluttershy squeaked.
“Um...I have to go...I’ll see you tonight.” Caramel quickly hung up.
“That was odd...” Fluttershy folded her arms.
“Ya think,” Rainbow Dash replied.
Fluttershy frowned, and sighed. “Well, I guess we only have Pinkie to worry about.”
“Yeah...that SHOULD be easy.”
“Yeah…”
They both sat there in silence.

Applebloom placed the last piece on the Star Decimator. “That’s it! We finished it,” Applebloom exclaimed happily.
“Yeah, it looks amazing,” Spike replied.
Applebloom smiled at Spike, “Maybe we should work on one of my sets.”
“Sure. Which one?”
“Umm….” Before Applebloom could think of a set, there was a knock at the door.
“I better get that,” Spike opened the door and ran down stairs, with Applebloom in toe.
“Might be AJ to get me.” Applebloom thought.
Spike shrugged, opened the door, and saw- Caramel? “Hey...Applebloom I’m here to bring you back home.”
“Oh...Ok.” She turned to Spike, “I had fun, Spike.”
“Uh, yeah, I did, too.”
Applebloom waved, and headed out with Caramel to his car.
Spike closed the door behind them, and flopped down on the couch. ‘Wow, I didn’t know Applebloom was so...cool… She’s even kinda-’ Spike shook his head at the very thought, ‘No! I’ve already got Rarity, sweet, generous, hot Rari- Hmm...Maybe I should check on her…’ But she DID make Twilight upset, and treated her like dirt… Still, he was her boyfriend…
Spike grabbed his coat off the rack, and headed off into the night.

Spike ran up to the door of Rarity’s door and knocked on the door. He waited for a few moments, and eventually Rarity came to the door. “Hello Spike, how are you doing this evening?” She asked.
“Fine, I was coming to see how you were doing,”
“Oh, I’m doing much better now that you’re here, would you like to come in?”
“Uh...Yeah, I guess…” Spike walked in unaware of what he was in for.
“Please, have a seat.”
“Uh, Thanks.” Spike sat on the couch, with Rarity sitting next to him.
“Spike, do you mind if I… Well, try and do what we were going to do, before Twilight showed up?”
“Uh...eat donuts?”
“What gave you that idea?”
“Um... That was what we were doing at that time.”
“No...dear,” She wrapped her arms around his neck and moved in closer, “This is what I meant.” She opened her mouth and pressed her lips to Spike’s. He was surprised for a second, but was instantly taken into the embrace when he felt Rarity’s tongue touching his own. He closed his eyes and ran his hands through Rarity’s hair, while she did the same on his head spikes. She pressed her hands firmly on his chest, sliding him down so his head would lay on the arm rest. Spike began to feel around Rarity’s tongue, it felt so soft…
Eventually, both needed air and they finally broke the kiss, breathing heavily. “Okay, that was pretty awesome,” Spike said still trying to catch his breath.
“Yes...It was,” Rarity breathing heavily as well, “In fact...how about we take it to the next level?”
“Uh...what do you mean?” Spike looked at his lover, a puzzled expression on his face.
“Spike...I assume Twilight told you about the Birds and the Bees?”
“She did but…” Spike’s eyes widened, “No! No way! I can’t!”
Rarity gave Spike an innocent look, “Why not, darling,” She inched towards his ear, and whispered, “Don’t you love me?”
“Of course I do, but...I’d rather wait, I mean, that’s kinda a huge step and I mean, what if I got you pregnant or something? What would Twilight do?”
“Well... we could run way,” She blew on his neck.
‘No, this isn’t right… I gotta get out of here!
He began to try to get Rarity off as gently as he could. “I just remembered, I was supposed to meet Twilight somewhere right about now.”
Suddenly, Rarity wrapped her hands harder around Spike, “Twilight, can wait,” She said through gritted teeth.
“Rarity, please! I don’t want to do this!”
“I don’t care! I NEED to do this!”
Spike found himself pushing harder against Rarity until his claws accidentally scratch her arm.
“OW! Why did you do that!?”
“I’m sorry, but-” Spike saw the cut on Rarity’s arm, there was something very unusual about it: it was green!
