Ep.2: Mirror's Ticket

Mirroring Ticket

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mirror Shard walked along the road. Shard sighed as he looked seeing ponies filled to the brim of terror in their eyes. Mirror was worried about showing his form it was nice of Twilight Sparkle to let him stay with her. But, one thing was kind of sad about it; she always asks him about his race. He walked to the dentist of Ponyville he's getting a quick check up; he isn't entirely sure what's to come, but, he's a grown Changeling. Mirror brought his hoof along his white mane.
Mirror looked to the sky seeing a Pegasus pony fling to him. "Letter for you sir," the mare spoke happily handing him the letter it was in the Princess' hoofwriting.
"Let's see what we-" he stopped as he realized the mail-mare's eyes were crossed. "...well, that's something Miss," he shook his and began reading despite the mare watching over him.
My dearest Mirror Shard,
I'm sure you're as excited for the Grand Galloping Gala as I am, are you not? As a gesture of goodwill I am sending a ticket to the event seeing as you've more than likely never been to it. I've sent one to my protégée Twilight Sparkle a ticket as well, you are to be just as Twilight has you are given an extra ticket to bring a friend. Have a good day, and hope to see you at the Grand Galloping Gala.
~Princess Celestia
Mirror saw as the mare's jaw dropped to the ground. "You've got tickets to the Gala!?" the mare leapt in the air.
Mirror's expression was blank; he's never attended nor heard of the Gala. "What's the 'Grand Galloping Gala Miss?" he asked getting a shocked expression from the mare.
"You don't know what the Grand Galloping Gala is!?" Shard shrugged his shoulders to the mare's words. "It's a magical place I've always wanted to go to the Gala be with the sophisticated ponies of Canterlot, plus I never been to Canterlot, uh... my name's Ditzy Doo, you can call me Ditzy," the mare smiled at Mirror. He for once saw no fear in the eyes only hopes of going to the Gala.
Mirror rolled his eyes to the mare. "Uh... aren't you scared of me?" Mirror asked he does have other friends he most likely will ask about the ticket.
Ditzy shook her head. "Oh no, no, I'm not scared of you," she smiled sheepishly.
Mirror slapped his head then a thought came to mind he's late for his check up. "Nice to meet you Ditzy, I'm Mirror Shard, oh I-I gotta go!" he then broke into full on gallop.
"Bye friend," the mare screamed as she flew off as well.
Mirror shot through the door and to the receptionist of the dentistry. "Mirror Shard, I'm sorry I'm late," he said to the receptionist.
"That's f-fine. Sh-She's waiting," the receptionist pointed to the door as Mirror Shard walked through it.
The door opened and a blue mint like mare. "Okay, Mirror Shard, you've never AH!" she gasped and cleared her throat. "I'm sorry, how unprofessional of me, I f-forgot," she blushed heavily.
Mirror sighed. "I'm sorry I'm late, you see I got a letter from the Princess. She sent me two tickets to the upcoming Grand Galloping Gala a-" he was shocked when the first terrified mare leapt in front of him.
"Tickets to the Gala! I've always wanted to go there, I wanted to meet all those ponies with perfect teeth, I've heard none of the ponies have teeth that are broken! How rude of me, my name is Minuette, but ponies call me Colgate, you can too if you'd like," the blue mare said blushing slightly.
"Okay Colgate, I'm Mirror Shard," he introduced himself as he sat on the chair.
"So, who's this ticket for?" Colgate asked an eyebrow rose to the sky.
Mirror Shard shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know," he said as Colgate looked around his mouth oddly clean for a Changeling.
"Well, this amazes me, you've got only one or two cavities, and, you don't know who's going to the gala with you?" Minuette asked scratching her mane and blushing slightly.
Mirror nodded slowly. "Yeah, I may just ask one of my friends," he admitted feeling nothing as she did the few cavities.
In no time at all the checkup was all done. He reached in his saddlebag to pull out the needed bits only to here Minuette say: "This is on the house, friend," she pushed on it. He chuckled lightly as he walked out the door.
Mirror walked to Bonbon's candy shop; a little ironic but he agreed to bring back some of Bonbon's famous candy, if he cried during his treatment, sadly, he did. "Hey there," he said his voice changed from the treatment.
"Dentist work?" she asked her back turned away from him.
Mirror Shard nodded embarrassingly. "Yeah, it was odd, bring up a ticket for that Grand Galloping Gala and the treatment is free," with that the mare turned and tried not to give any fear in her face.
"The Gala!" she said happily. "I've always wanted to go there! See all their candy and sweets!" Bonbon said happily smiling as she leaned in. "Who's it for?" she asked getting a shrug of the shoulders from Mirror Shard.
"Not sure yet, Bonbon, in fact, not sure about going to the Gala in honesty, I've only been out of my hive for a week," he rubbed his mane this is quite a big step.
A smile crept up on Bonbon's face. "Take what you want on the house, friend," Bonbon smiled warmly at Mirror Shard trying not to look scared of the pony with holes in his legs.
Mirror Shard felt a pattern here. With a sigh he grabbed some of the candy Twilight bet on and walked away.
He looked back and knew something was off: free dental treatment, free candy, and a wall-eyed mare just became a friend. Shard knew it had to be the ticket that made every-pony so happy to see him, if they hadn't known about the ticket they'd be cowering in fear by now.
Mirror Shard walked to a building in big bold letters saying: Vinyl's Records. Mirror loves to look around seeing different vinyl records this mare has. He saw a few he's wanted for a while he walked to the counter. "I need this, you know that?" he chuckled sighing as his dentist appointment yet again got in the way.
"I can hear that," the white unicorn mare said chuckling as she set record after record in alphabetical order.
"Not just that, I've being hounded about the extra ticket to this Grand Galloping Gala thing," he rolled his eyes waiting for a reaction which of course did come.
"Tickets to the Gala whoa! I wish I can go there, my marefriend lives and plays in those kinds of things, I haven't seen her for a while," Mirror saw through the guilt trick.
"Nice try, Vinyl Scratch," he rolled his eyes she's one of the only ones that doesn't freak out of him being a Changeling he doesn't know why.
"Look, 10 bits," she said a frown on her face.
Half way there a stallion ran into Mirror Shard causing him to fall to the ground. "So, so sorry sir," the stallion said almost pleading for forgiveness. The ticket was on the ground the stallion looked in amazement. "Is that? It is!" he exclaimed Mirror covering his ears as the stallion exclaimed his sentence.
Shard swiped the ticket. "Yeah, it is," he admitted he felt even though these ponies just are acting to get the ticket, their doing great. He kinda wants to bring all of them.
"I've always wanted to go there, see the Wonderbolts in action, name's Thunderlane: big brother, Wonderbolts fan, and weather pony," he smiled proudly as he raised his head.
Shard shrugged. "See you Thunderlane," he said running off.
Mirror ran into the library trying to hide from them. There was the other five. "What are you doing?" Mirror asked trying to hide the ticket for a while.
"Twilight has a ticket, we're waiting for her to get back, don't you want to go?" Rainbow asked whispering glancing to his bag which he kept on a tight lockdown. Rainbow was about to ask but then Twilight walked in after much arguing Twilight couldn't take it anymore and took the tickets and placed them in a letter. Soon a flash of yellow came into the sight of the seven.
Well, why didn't you say so Twilight? And, Mirror, did you choose your guest? Or, are you giving it to Spike?
Mirror slapped his head and went for the obvious. "Spike, take a letter please," he requested. Spike did as told. "Dear Princess Celestia, you see, I have five friends, all want to go along to the Gala, I can't choose only one of them, can I? May if this is alright get three extra tickets? Sincerely Mirror Shard,"
It wasn't long before the Princess responded back in little words. "Of course," that's all that was written along with the requested tickets. Honestly his 'friends' will be really happy even though they're going with a Changeling.
