Ponyville's Nightmare
A Nightmare To Remember
Previous ChapterA Nightmare To Remember
Pinkie lay on her bed unable to comprehend what she had just done, "I have just killed another pony," thought Pinkie as a single tear slowly meanders from her eye down her cheek, "I sent him to Tartarus, and now he is burning and suffering all because of me," Pinkie was sobbing at this point "well maybe tonight I can get through a night without a nightmare."
Pinkie was slowly trotting through the bright, sun-lit streets of Ponyville. She had a gargantuan grin on her face, she hadn't felt this much happiness in days, it was like she had reached nirvana. The other ponies around her were smiling and going about their business, except one a pitch black pony with a straight pink mane, somewhat like Pinkie's, but it was much shorter. The black pony was slowly trudging through the streets sticking out like a sore hoof; Pinkie gave in and galloped over the other pony in her usual hyperactive fashion.
"What's wrong?" asked Pinkie with a genuine worried look on her face.
"Nothing much." said the black pony who seemed to be holding back a tidal wave of tears, "I just did something really bad, and I don't know what to do."
"That stinks," said Pinkie with her tongue out and smiling "what did you do?"
"I can't talk about it, you would hate me!" The black pony was sobbing at this point, but no pony other than Pinkie seemed to notice.
'I could never hate any pony," Pinkie said with a wide smile below her gleaming eyes "Now, what did you do?"
"OK," said the pony shaking, "I hurt a pony I hurt him really bad, I don't think he will get up, please don’t hate me." The black pony galloped off sobbing and barely able to support herself.
Pinkie attempted to chase her, but was stopped by the mobs of ponies on the streets. She didn't know why, but she felt close to the pony that had run off, she just had to know what exactly was troubling her. Pinkie eventually charged through the mob. As she was charging through, for each pony she hit they dissipated into black dust and reappeared directly behind Pinkie. Pinkie noticed this, but didn't care all she wanted was to catch up with that pony she had just met moments ago.
Pinkie began sprinting toward the direction where that black pony was running, but while running at her frantic pace, she didn’t notice the color filter of her world change to gray with slim amounts of light passing through the thick clouds. Pinkie slowed down and took a look at her surroundings; it was the rock farm where she had grown up!
Pinkie slowly crawled through the grounds when she saw the black pony again, but she looked different she was smaller, as if she was just a filly. Her hooves were stained a dark red with blood, and tears rocketed their way out her eyes as she lay on the ground.
Pinkie walked up to the sobbing pony and asked “Why did you run away from me, what exactly did you do?”
“No, don’t hate me!” screamed the distressed pony sobbing more than any pony could have in weeks.
The pony stopped crying looked up to Pinkie and said "This is reality." and dissipated.
Pinkie, puzzled by what had just happened began to examine her surroundings more thoroughly, and began walking though the grounds. The more she walked around the lower her point of view became until she was about the size of a foal. She then found herself moving rocks around the fields when a tremendous boom caught her attention. The boom came from the east, and a large rainbow flew through the sky, and created a smile upon Pinkie's now bleak expression. The rainbow began to falter and slowly transformed from the brightly colored beauty to a gray mess. The depressing sight disintegrated and there was now nothing in the sky but the thick gray clouds blocking any hope of sunlight reaching the already bleak farm.
Pinkie Pie's spirits were crushed at the sight of this, and began galloping, she didn't care where she would end up, she didn't want to be anywhere near this source of depression.
Pinkie's point of view began to rise again, until she was the once again the size of her full grown self. She began look around her surroundings and realized she was back in Ponyville, right in front of Sugar Cube Corner.
Pinkie went inside the building and the first things she noticed were the smell of freshly baked cupcakes, Mr. and Mrs. Cake were nowhere to be seen, and there was a slight iron-like smell resonating near the basement of the bakery. She followed the odor and came to see a thin trail of blood leading into the basement; hesitantly she decided to follow the trail and scent.
What she came upon was horrifying to say the least, it was Mr. Cake with his skull split and blood spilling everywhere, and Mrs. Cake her chest was split and her intestines decorating the floor, in what looked like a crude pentagram. Pinkie then saw the worst sight she had seen thus far; it was Melody and Pinkie Pie. Pinkie stood over the previously sedated Melody with a common kitchen knife, and she plunged it into the back of Melody, he made no expression only a single tear.
The Pinkie that had just murdered Melody looked over at Pinkie, smiling, and she said “Remember this, of course you do, you will never forget, you will be in agony unless you keep killing and feed my blood hunger.”
“No!” replied Pinkie sobbing and barely able to speak “I will never kill again, I could never kill again, if I was to kill anyone it would be myself for what I have done.”
“That is no way to speak” replied Pinkie’s counterpart “you are a beautiful smart pony, who just has , well a more chaotic blood thirsty side that is no reasons to kill yourself, now you are going to wake up, and remember everything you have seen in this dream and you are going to embrace your sadness, anger, and hate and you will enjoy it.”
