//-------------------------------------------------------// Twilight:Past the End 2 -by RagingBrony19983- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 I stood at the entrance listening to the echo of the laughter as I watched the small piece of paper clutched in Owlowiscious's sharp talons. I watched as a gust of wind tried to knock Owlowiscious off path but he's too much of a swift flyer for that. He gently handed me the paper then rested on my shoulder. I could feel him breathing heavily, as he rested there trying to read the paper, It must have been a long flight. I opened it and tried to read what was left and the shredded paper. The marks looked like the quill from whoever pony had written it had kept poking holes in the paper. Dear Twilight, How is Ponyville? Can you come to my hut immediately if that is alright. Your friend, Zecora It was odd by how short it was and there was no rhyming, everypony knows she talks in riddles. I just thought it was a coincidence. I pulled my cloak on and pulled on a small string through my hair to hide it under the hood. It was am old, black cloak, that covered my entire body and drug a bit on the ground around me. I made my way to the Everfree forest. I lifted my head from staring at the hard ground, and looked at the surroundings, that were so familiar, yet so strange to me. I made my way through the entanglement of bushes that had started to grow over the small path. I would have to remember to cut those down another day. I stopped abruptly as I heard the faint laughing surround me in the chilly night air. The voices were all too familiar for me to forget. I heard the sinister laughter fill my ears with its' horrific sound. Then, I heard the calling of my name over and over sounding playful yet mocking. Than it all stopped as fast as it had started.. I put my hood back on of the cloak that hid my entire body. I looked down and in the corner of my eye I saw a bit of purple hair stick out and it pushed back inside my hood taking a moment to adjust the string that was holding my hair up. I continued to walk on through the Everfree Forest. It was very silent except for the clopping of hooves against the hard ground and the swishing of my tail going back and forth as I walked on. The movement of my tail against my back legs helped soothe my frayed nerves. I arrived at the small hut which still seemed to creep me out. I looked above at the broken numbers. Her address used to be 5673, but now half the 6 is missing and all of the 7 is gone. I knocked lightly on the small wooden door. I listened to the sound echo through the small hut, but no answer. I went over to the window and there was no one inside but a couple of lights on in the upstairs. I went back to the door and tried to open it, but it was locked. I looked under the mat where Zecora a long time ago had to told me she keeps her spare key. I opened it and tried to keep the creaking to a minimum, unsuccessfully. I closed it lightly and called out Zecora's name with no answer. I crept up the stairs to see if she was there. I looked on the walls at the countless portraits of scenes but a strange one caught my eye. I waled over to it. Painted on the section of the wall was a zebra that resembled Zecora leaning happily against a tall girrafe. I read about them in one of my books, in fact the one where I read about zebras, I also read they mostly live in the southern regions of Equestria, which is probably why I haven't seen one. He had his long, tall neck wrapped around hers. I stepped over to the one next to it which was of the zebra and the girrafe again, but this one was more creepy. The zebra and girrafe were now chained and being restrained by a group of ponies. The girrafe was on the ground lying in a pile of blood but the ponies who had restrained him were no letting up and they still had the ropes and chains tight on him. Under the painting it said," You are gone, you are not here, but you are living." The signature was very sloppy and I couldn't read it but it was very long. I walked over to the bedroom where the only light was now coming from. I knocked on the door but again no reply. I slowly opened the door and peered inside. Nopony was to be seen so I walked in. The bed still had the imprint of a very large somepony on it with a extremely long neck. The sheets were a mess and looked freshly slept in. I heard a crash come from the bedroom and I hid in the corner. A tall giraffe resembling the one in the portrait came stumbling out of the bedroom. He had sunglasses on and didn't seem to notice me. As he crashed on the bead I realized the imprint on the bed was him. I was curious and I couldn't help myself. I slowly slipped the sunglasses off his eyes and lifted the eyelid and yes they were all white. It didn't even startle me. Over the past few days I have seen this too many times. He suddenly awoke and I shoved the glasses back on his face and ran to the corner cowering. He got up and slowly moved toward me. I wished I hadn't put the sunglasses back on his face, I wish I could see his eyes. I watched in horror as he stumbled closer and closer. I could feel my heart desperately trying to bust out of my rib cage as he neared. He was about a foot in front of me by now when he suddenly turned left into a doorway I hadn't seen til' now. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 I crept out the house as my heart drummed away in my ears. I ran home through the eerily silent Everfree Forest. I felt utterly defeated. The events that have taken place ever since I found that book, have made me feel horrible. First, I receive a book warning of my death, new pony arrives( she hates me), New pony is female Discord, hurts my friends, and now most recent Zecora and Pinkie Pie went missing. Can anything go worse? I sighed into the silent night and watched the air around me shift as I near Ponyville, that for quite some time has been my home but lately it doesn't feel like home at all. It feels like a distant place, that has twisted into something dd. Discord's words ringed in my head from a while back when he made an attempt to take over Ponyville. He called it "The Chaos Capital of the World". It looks the same but it sure feels like that is what it is. I walked to the small, quaint library. This was the one place where I have found refuge from everything. I opened the door and walked in to the unusually dark library. I turned on the light to find the library a mess. I yelled," Spike get down here! What happened down here?!" He stomped down the steps crashing and putting so much effort into each step to show how much of a task this is. He looked at me and stared. I'm still not sure if he can see. He has gone completely white. I guess i'm used to this almost everypony in Equestria has turned this odd shade of white including their eyes. Some of them go blind from the white in their eyes but others do not. Instead of coming up to me he started cleaning up the books. At least he was doing something good. I started away putting the books and correcting Spike when put a book in the wrong place. About an hour later I was done putting them away but I still had the nagging feeling of trying to find out who did this. I could only think of two ponies. They weren't even ponies no one knows what they are. Eris and Discord. I have known Discord but Eris has just now arrived. I don't think I can take much more of this especially since I can;t trust Princess Celestia. She has proven that to me. I don;t think I can trust anypony. But enough of that my main goal right now is to find Pinkie and Zecora. I do not know where they could be. I packed a saddlebag because I don't know how long I would be gone. I walked through the quiet Ponyville and watched the distant ponies go into their homes for the night. My first stop was at Sugar Cube Corner. I lightly knocked on the bright pink door. I listened for a while but there was no answer. I called out," Hello. Is anypony in there?" There was no reply so I walked off. I went around knocking on doors looking for answers to no avail. As I went past each home I felt more and more defeated. I went home exhausted. I threw my bag on the table and went upstairs to find it a mess. Spike was standing there about to throw a vase to the floor. I yelled his name just as it split .The deep blue shards scattering and ripping and cutting the objects in it's path, I stared straight at a big chunk of one just as it came flying towards me spinning increasing speed. I ducked as I heard it rip through the curtain behind me. I went to yell at Spike but he was already on to something else waiting to destroy it. I lifted it out of his his scaly hands and ran. I just had to get away. I didn't know where to go. Really I didn't know about anything at this moment. I just knew that the place that I had seeked for refuge for so long was crumbling and turning into a place that I must hide from. I felt trapped in there. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 I heard once again the menacing laughter. It may frighten me but now i'm just tired of it. They have tried to take over my life and I will not let that happen. "Hey Discord and Eris, why don't you show yourself? Are you scared? You have to hide because you're cowards.", I yelled out. As I expected they both appeared before me, and also seeing them side by side the resemblance was uncanny. I stepped back as their laughter grew louder and louder. Eris hung on to Discord as she laughed, as if it were such a task to stay standing up. "So you say we're cowards, i'll show you a coward.", jeered Discord. I watched as a small almost transparent bubble thing popped up in front of me. I looked deep into it to only to see a all white Zecora and Pinkie in a small lit up room. They were screaming and seemed to be chained to something. Pinkie's eyelids shot open to reveal her bloodshot eyes. Her and Zecora continued to scream in pain and I couldn't bear to look anymore. "These are cowards! They share the fate of everypony in Ponyville and soon all of Equestria." yelled Eris. I slowly backed up away from the bubble as the images twisted and revealed more ponies doing the same thing. They stared into my very soul and I couldn't take it. I ran to the library to do immediate research. I burst through the wooden door to find more mess than ever. The books were scattered everywhere and nothing was in place. It was a mess. I looked in the corner of my eye at a laughing Spike. "I have no time to deal with you, now. But I will soon.", I yelled at the dragon. He continued to laugh as I picked up every book in the library frantically flipping through the pages. I was down to a small pile of books and I was running out of time. Then I remembered when I first met Zecora. "The natural remedies book.", I called out triumphantly. I picked up the unusually heavy book and flipped through the pages until I came upon a page that warned of this disaster. It happened over 2000 years ago. The only way to fix it is to get rid of the creator. I sat down on my haunches knowing this was nearly impossible considering me and my friends had used the elements of harmony on him before and he escaped and he has a partner now. Maybe it's not the elements of harmony i'm supposed to use. It's something much bigger than that. I looked out the tiny window as an idea sparked in my head. I remembered Pinkie's song from when we were in the Everfree Forest and had the scary trees. I set the book on it's shelf and ran outside once again. "Oh, Discord show yourself, it's time for us to end this." I called out into the empty air. He appeared before me again this time without Eris. I burst into a fit of laughter and wouldn't stop. He knew I was faking it but he was still puzzled. He looked down at me and I looked around as my surroundings lightened up a bit and I truly did laugh. This time I wasn't faking it. He still looked puzzled, then he was shocked. I was laughing from joy and he knew it. He stepped back and knew I had found out how to get rid of it. He fell to the floor pulling his body geothermal and wrapping his arms around his knees and held it tight to him. He screamed out in pain as he slowly faded and dissapeared. Then Eris appeared and I was still laughing and she did the same thing but she fought back. She tried to shove her claw over my mouth but it didn't stop me. Ponyville seemed to lighten up and then everypony came outside and laughed along with me as they returned to normal. Pinkie and Zecora appeared before me perfectly normal. It was such a simple and actually kind of childish way to fix my problem but it worked and i'm happy. Everypony is back to normal. Something still doesn't feel right though but I can't quite put my hoof on it.
