it was a sunny day in Equestria. Rainbow Dash had just gotten up and was already done clearing the sky of poofy white clouds. She smiled looking back at the one small cloud she left to relax in. She flew gently over to it as she laid back kicking her legs over in a relaxed position. Her sleek cyan coat exposed in the warm spring rays of the sun. She smiled as she pictured herself flying freely. Wind blowing through her multi-colored mane. She was flying. But not just an ordinary day of flying. She wore a dark blue skin-tight coat with goggles flipped over her eyes. She was a wonderbolt, and she was leading the team. A perfectly straight line of rainbow marked every inch of her flying pattern. She grinned as she thought of this her eyes closed. Her thoughts quickly vanished as a familiar voice rang below her relaxing spot.
“Special Delivery for Rainbow Dash!” Said Derpy, the town’s mail-pony. Rainbow Dash almost jumped off her cloud. She looked below as she smiled relieved to see who it was.
“Derpy!” Said Rainbow Dash with her same smile on her face. “You startled me a little.” She said floating down lazily to meet the grey pegasai’s crossed golden eyes. Derpy grinned as she reached into her mailbag and pulled out a blue package.
“It’s for you Rainbow!” She said hopping up and down with glee. She usually acted this way when she made a successful delivery. She took off from the ground and flew away clumsily bumping into houses every now and then.
Rainbow dash looked down to her blue package. The only words it had on it were.
“To: Rainbow Dash. From: The team.
Rainbow Dash looked at the package puzzled. She only could think of one “team” that would send her something like this. But she knew that they were too busy dealing with other things. She sat down in the grass as she opened the package. She gasped and flipped the box over. Instantly, a blue uniform and a pair of goggles fell out of the package. Rainbow Dash smiled. “I didn’t order any costume.” She thought as she looked for a note. Eventually, she picked one up from inside the box.
Dear Rainbow Dash.
Welcome aboard the wonderbolts. We have recently had thoughts about adding a new Pegasus to our team. It took a little bit to think up of one, but then I thought of you. The 3-time winner of the “young Flyer’s competition” and creator of the “sonic Rainboom.” We all agreed that you would be the perfect pony for the tryout. We are certain that you will be with us in the skies in no time. Or to be precise, Ten seconds flat.

Rainbow Dash was stunned. She sat there in the dewy grass staring at the note, reading it over and over until she knew it by heart. Slowly, but surely, her face curved up like a crescent moon. Her face was now stuck in an ear-to-ear smile. She looked at the blue uniform as she saw her own Multi-colored cutie mark hoof-stitched on the flank. She ripped open the plastic and immediately flew straight for her cloud home. She had tears of pure joy streaming down the sides of her cyan face. She kicked open her front door and sprinted into her room. She threw on her uniform and looked in the mirror. She looked exactly like she pictured herself. She spent five minutes looking at her new reflection in different poses until she looked at the clock. “On the back of the note was some practice times!” She thought as she looked to the back of the note.
“Saturday at 3:00 PM.” She said as she looked at the clock. Her eyes widened. Her clock shown at 2:49 and it was Saturday. “GOOD RIDANCE!” She screamed as she flew out her window straight for Canterlot. She dodged all the clouds that found their innocent poofy selves in her way with ease. The perfect straight line of rainbow she left behind was marvelous. She had a smile on her face as she kicked down her goggles. She soared straight through several clouds with absolutely no trouble. A clear hole was left in each cloud as she passed through. She looked over to her left as her mane licked the right sides of her face. She saw five other pegasai in similar uniforms. She grinned as she maneuvered over to them landing softly in front of them cutting off her perfect rainbow trail as she did so.
“Wow.” Said Spitfire looking over in amazement. “Goodbye clouds.” She laughed pointing to the clouds that Rainbow flew through.
“When do we start?” Asked the impatient rainbow maned Pegasus. She was hopping up and down looking around for some spot to freestyle. She eventually spotted a spot with a perfect line of clouds.
“We start, by watching you fly.” Said Soarin kicking his legs back and relaxing on a cloud. He kicked his goggles up from his emerald green eyes. He looked at Rainbow Dash motioning for her to start. The others were doing the same now beckoning her to start her little demo. Rainbow Dash grinned through the corner of her mouth. She squatted into a starting position setting her goggles over her eyes. She licked her cyan lips preparing for her time to show off. Her wings flexed out in the gentle wind of the sky. Her thoughts leaked out of her mind leaving it blank as the whistle blew. It was like she’d never flown before. The wind coursed through her rainbow mane like an invisible comb. She was flying incredibly fast now, headed for the first line of spaced apart clouds. She soared right in between them in a slalom fashion. She smiled as the feeling of flight over-took her body into the state of complete relaxation as she dodged each cloud with ease. It was beautiful, the rainbow trail that wove it’s way in-between the set of clouds was the same distance away at all times. She turned around into a 360 as she flew straight for the sky, not loosing speed at all. Spitfire let her jaw drop. She saw Rainbow Dash fly before, but she never knew how compatible she was. She grinned as she looked at Soarin and Frostbite to see their reactions. They were in the same state, jaws opened in awe as Rainbow Dash performed stunts they could never have pulled off. Rainbow Dash turned from flying up to a complete dive. The Wonderbolts knew what was going to happen. Soarin arose from his relaxing spot with a grin on his face. Rainbow Dash had a competitive grin on her face as she headed for the ground. Her eyes squinting through her goggles as the wind passed her face. Soon enough, a large “bang” sounded as a rainbow Spread it’s beauty across the sky. The team gave Rainbow Dash applause as she landed right in front of that.
“How was that?” She asked tapping her goggles to slide them away from her teary face.
“That…was…incredible!” Said Soarin still looking at the circle of rainbow that continued to take over the dull blue of the sky. He looked down to Rainbow Dash still wearing his ear-to-ear grin. “It looks like I’ve under estimated you Dashie!” He said still smiling.
“We’re glad to have you on the team.” Said Spitfire from behind her as she continued to stare at the Rainboom. Rainbow Dash jumped up with excitement. Her dream has come true! She ran over to Soarin squeezing him in a hug as Soarin blushed heavily. “Oh Thankyou thank you!” She said letting go of Soarin, as he blushed heavier now. “I’ve always wanted to be a wonderbolt. It was my dream since I was just a little filly!” She said tears of joy filling her eyes once more. She bid farewell to the team agreeing about arriving to the first practice for the show. She flew home still daydreaming about events awaiting her arrival.
