Wonderbolt Tryouts
It was sunny afternoon in equestria, Rainbow Dash, the fastest flyer in equestria was busy practicing for the wonderbolt tryouts that were hosted this afternoon."I hope I do well", Rainbow said to herself. Being a wonderbolt was her dream ever since her father took her to her first wonderbolt's airshow. It was amazing, seeing the wonderbolts do spectacular tricks in the air was really a dream come true.
Then Rainbow looked at the Ponyville town clock and noticed that it was time to sign up for the tryouts. "Better go" and she rushed off.
First she fllew down from the sky and landed in the right spot from where the tryouts were to be held. Then suddenly, appearing out of the sky was the wonderbolts. Rainbow's favorite from all of the wonderbolts was Soarin. Rainbow had a crush on him since his first airshow.
"All pegausi, those who would like to try out for the team must sign up here", annouced Spitfire. Soon 7 pegausi lined up in a single file line to sign their names on the sign up sheet. Rainbow went after a pegausus that was a little taller than she was. But she didn't care. When it was her turn to sign, there she saw Soarin standing there holding a clipboard and pen in his hooves. Rainbow then started blushing bright red at Soarin." He's so cute", she said in her mind. As she signed her name, she heard somepony say" Haha Rainbow Crash". It was Hoops, one of the bullies.
" Enough of that", said Soarin. "Guess that you want to enter?" * smiles at her*
" Yes ". * blushes*
After Rainbow signed her name, she went and sat back down. Soon everypony sat back down too.
"It's sad that only seven ponies signed up. Tryouts will begin at 5, and the winner will be the new wonderbolt", annouced Surprise.
"See you all in about two hours", repeated Wave Chill.
"See you all in an hour", said Spitfire. So they flew to the cloudiseium to get ready for the tryouts.
Rainbow then flew to her Fluttershy's house to get ready for the tryouts.
At Fluttershy's cottage>>>>>>>>>>>>>
When Rainbow arrived, she knocked on Fluttershy's door. "Hey Fluttershy, it's me Rainbow Dash. Can you help me with something", said Rainbow pounding on the door with her hoof. "Coming Rainbow", called soft, calm voice.
"Hi Rainbow, what do ya need help with?" asked Fluttershy raising an eyebrow at her friend.
"Oh I thought you could come and support me in Cloudsdale".
"Rainbow, I would love to".
Then they flew to Rainbow's house to get ready for the tryouts.
"Should I do this?" *flying around in a 360 circle*
"Or this?" *doing 3 barrel rolls*
"Or this?" *doing a mini sonic rainboom*
"How about all 3. Rainbow I forgot to remind you, time to go".
"Your right, let's go". So both of them flew to the Cloudsieum.

Finally Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy made it to the Cloudisieum. There were not that much pegausi sitting on the bench because not much pegausi entered.
'We made it".
"Thank goodness".
"Can we start now Spit?" groaned Soarin.
"Okay let's start", said Spitfire.
Soon it was time for the tryouts to start.
"First up", called Surprise.
The first pegasus went up and did his routine. He was a really good flyer and all, but the others thought he wasn't really wonderbolt material. He really needed improvements on his routine, the others agreed too. Second was a female, the others agreed, they surely needed a female on the team. Soarin had seen that mare before. Was that Whirlwind? Soarin was confused.
"Hey Spit. That's Whirlwind".
"Soarin you have to pay attention. So what is it?"
"Whirlwind is actually my ex-girlfriend, I wonder what she's doing in the tryouts. I didn't know she signed up".
"Proably she signed up in a different area".
After the conversation between the two siblings, they soon resume to watch the other competitors. Whirlwind was a fine flyer. But her nature was like way over the top. Spit thought she didn't have enough practice. She was okay, but her routine was not the level of the wonderbolts at all. Then came the second contestant, he was tall, but not right for the wonderbolts either. They were expecting a rookie, a mare. Only a few mares joined the team; including Misty Fly and Blaze.
They clapped for Whirlwind, who soon headed back to where the others were sitting. After every other pegasus tried out, they were really exhausted. Last but not least, it was Rainbow Dash. There they heard that Fluttershy was cheering for her best friend. Rainbow was shaking like a leaf, will she succeed it or fail it? Then off Rainbow flew.
"Okay Rainbow, first of your routine. The cloud spin", she said to herself.*making the clouds spin*
"Next, fly around the cloud-shaped poles". *oof*
"HAHA Rainbow Crash", one of the other colts laughed. Rainbow just ignored them.
"Last but not least, the sonic rainboom". She was doing the same routine she did at the best young fliers competition.
Rainbow then flew doing barrel rolls. Next a rainbowed tornado. Last but not least, she did a sonic rainboom. Everypony thought it was just an old ponie's tale, but it turned out that the legends were true. The sonic rainboom did exist. No wonder Rainbow could break the sound barrier.
"YA HOO!! Good job Dashie. You did great", Fluttershy cheered in her loudest voice she could possibly make. Rainbow then just blushed red at Fluttershy's praised.
"That was not just good Rainbow Dash, that was amazing", said Spitfire. Soarin agreed with her too.
"Thanks, I just needed 2 weeks of practice, that's all", Rainbow replied with her face a little red.
"Hey, Rainbow mind if I talk to you", Soarin asked the rainbow maned mare as Spitfire flew back to the judging stand.
"Yeah what is it Soarin?"
"Just wanted to say that you did a job well done on your routine".
"Thanks Soar, I don't know what to say".
"I've heard around Cloudsdale that you really like me, is it true?"
"Yes, yes I do".
"Well I really like you too, Rainbow Dash. I remember the gala you saved my apple pie. And I forgotten to mention that you're very talented and beautiful".
"Oh Soarin, thank you. The reason I had to save your apple pie was I wouldn't want it to sqaushed that way you wouldn't eat it".
"Since now I have a chance to talk to again. Ever since last month, I never got a chance to talk to you at the gala. We ended up having a night that was kind of nerve racking".
"Yeah we sure did".
"Rainbow would you be my rookie?"
"Soarin are you trying to ask me out?" *looking with a shocked and confused face*
"Yeah, am I doing good at it?"
"Yes, and that's a yes. I'm going out with you".
"Soarin get back here, it's almost time to choose a winner", called Fleetfoot.
"Coming. I'll see you later Dash".
"Bye".
The wonderbolts looked through the scores and contestants. It turned out that one only out of the contestants was wonderbolt material. They looked at the last name on the list, and what it said on it was Rainbow Dash.
The wonderbolts all nodded their heads at the same time. Rainbow Dash was the one they chose between Whirlwind.
"Will all contestants please come up", called Wave Chill.
Rainbow was so nervous that she started chewing on her hooves. Fluttershy started comforting her friend saying that it was going to be alright. Soon Misty Fly came up with an envelope in her hooves.
"The winner of the wonderbolt tryouts is Ms. Rainbow Dash", annouced Misty Fly. Rainbow then came out and the bolts handed her her uniform and goggles.
"Man I should have won that tryout, not her", Whirlwind thought furiously. She was Rainbow's number 1 rival at summer flight camp. Whirlwind was very jealous of Rainbow, she got all the attention and attraction. Even her ex-coltfriend was there holding a hoove on her shoulder. "One day Rainbow, I"ll get my revenge. One day I will!!!" she said to herself.
The Discussion with Friends
Whirlwind's Plot
"What are we doing again",asked Emerald Envy in confusion.
"Like I said, you'll find out, Just do as I say".
"Windy, can you just explain what the plan is".
"Alright Em, I'll tell you. We're going to teach Rainbow Dash a little lesson".
"But we can't do that, we might get arrested".
"I don't care, okay".
Whirlwind then peeked at Soarin and Rainbow Dash just to see what they were doing. She and Emerald then slyly put cameras and obstacles that way Rainbow could humiliate herself while the hidden camera in the distance would just alert them as a signal.
"Oh yeah, this is going to be so fun", Whirlwind whispered.
"No it's not going to be fun. You do realize we could get caught by those security guards. There gonna have us like caramel on a candied-apple".
Emerald beckoned her friend to calm down and relax. But still Whirlwind didn't care what Emerald did. She just kept ignoring her most of the time. Emerald was right, if they the FBI found out that they were trying to tolerate someone for some reason, they would be in big trouble for sure. But still, they would find a way not to get caught. Ever since flight school, Whirlwind always broke the rules and even got suspended many times before. Whirl hated it so much that she became much more crueler and immature.
In the distance they spotted Rainbow and Soarin on the steps chatting. While Emerald and Windy were up in the clouds spying at them. They hoped that they would get a chance to kidnap Rainbow, and that Whirlwind could have Soarin back as her forever coltfriend. And take Rainbow's spot on the bolts.

Soarin and Whirlwind were really happy together as a couple. They were best friends since they were teens. But it turned out that Soarin was friends with 5 fillies and 2 colts before he made friends with Whirlwind. His friends were: Spitfire, Surprise,Fleetfoot,Fluttershy,Lightning Streak,Fire Streak, and Rainbow Dash. He had known them since flight school even started.
But when Soarin got recruited into the wonderbolts, he broke up with Whirlwind telling her that he had feelings for somepony else. Whirlwind was heartbroken, how can Soarin have feelings for another filly. Soon Whirlwind turned into a bully, only a few months after Soarin broke up with her. She was so enraged that she almost nearly destroyed her own belongiings and even her parent's belonging's. Since then she would just think about the previous times they had together.

"Hey Windy, are you alright? You've been staring into space for far too long because we still haven't figured out what the plan is", Emerald said to her friend.
"Yeah I'm fine, so what?"
"Nothing really".
Still, they were trying to find a way to sneak up on Rainbow Dash and kidnap her without getting caught. Wind was confused, how can she sneak up on Rainbow if she is so busy chatting with her new coltfriend? That's it she could be distracted and that way, she could just interrupt the moment, have Rainbow gone. Then having Soarin all to herself.
"Whirl, ya sure about this? What are we gonna do with this bag and tape?" Emerald asked her friend.
"First we need Rainbow to fall into our trap, then we'll get rid her. Not literally", Wind replied.
"Soarin will be the bait, while you do as I say".
"Okay Wind, no need to be so harsh", she said shakily.
All this sneaking up business got Emerald really uncomfortable. After all, in truth, she didn't really want to be Wind's friend. Since she acted like a bully all the time back in summer flight camp. Wind had a heart as pure as stone, none other then Rainbow Dash who had the most loyal heart of all the element's of harmony. After all Twilight Sparkle; Magic, Applejack; Honesty; Rarity, Generosity; Pinkie Pie, Laughter; Fluttershy, Kindness. Whirlwind never represented any of the elements of friendship because in her heart, she never knew about friendship. She just took it away from her mind like after a 2nd thought.
Friendship was something Whirlwind never realized about. It meant that a group of friends, more then 2, bond and socialize with each other. The magic always happened within the light that ignited in a group of friends. They are always there for each other, but a true friend helps him/her in need of help, even when he/she is having trouble with the thing they're not good at. Was this the pony Emerald could be friends with? "Perhaps not", Emmy thought to herself. Since they've known each other since flight school. Wind was really nice at that time.
"Whirlwind, you better promise that no one sees us, or I'm outta here", Emerald said
"WHAT, you're leaving me?!".
"Yes, yes I AM!"
"Yes, now goodbye", Emerald said as she flew off towards Cloudsdale to find new pony friends whom she could trust. Upon hearing this, Whirlwind, on the inside feels rejected, on the outside angry.
"Guess I'm gonna have to take care of things myself".
Whirlwind hid behind the cloud sneakily awaiting an approach to get Rainbow out of the way and get Soarin for herself. She had a selfish personality and always made good friends, but now she has become as jealous as Princess Luna used to be. She turned into Nightmare Moon many years ago and was banished to the moon by her own older sister. Was Whirlwind jealous or just upset about doing this on her own? Revenge on an ex-loved one wasn't an opportunity to accomplish. If Wind got caught, she would be arrested by the royal officers for sure. Wind shivered with fright at the thought that she was thinking earlier. Then she got over it.
Hoping to make a move on the couple, she sneakily made sure no pony was in her way. A little voice inside her head said", I wouldn't do that if I were you". One thing she didn't realized was that she was being tempted. Her mind, full of hatred and revenge clearly mistake for her love for Soarin a few years back. How could this be? Has she, herself even realized what she was doing wrong. She then finally had a chance to sneak up on Soarin and Dash.
"Hey Soar, wanna race?" Rainbow Dash replied confidently.
"Yeah, why not, if you're up for it", Soarin replied confidentally back with his wings wide open getting ready to fly.
After a few seconds, both of them raced as fast as speeding bullets from just the sound of a shotgun. They both pasted through clouds with their manes passing and flowing through them, as if they were sweaty from the sweltering sun in the hot sun. Sweltering heat couldn't beat Rainbow down, as proclaimed, she's the fastest flyer in all of Equestria. She has her mother's instincts and personality. Since her mother was dead, Rainbow always had her mother on her mind Thinking she was still up in heaven waiting for her to join her years later. She took her mother's locket out of her saddle bag and looked at her mother's face with tearful eyes.
"Mom,I miss you a lot", Rainbow cried sadly.
"Dash, what's wrong? Is everything okay?"
"My mom, I miss her too much".
"Rainbow, you know you can tell me anything", he said kissing her forehead.
"Thanks, and .........". Rainbow then fell asleep in Soarin's hooves.
"Take a good nap Rainbow". Soarin then carried her to her cloudhouse to rest.
Meanwhile,Whirlwind was still watching the couple. Since she didn't have enough time to have a chance to keep them apart, she flew away towards Cloudsdale to rest after a long day of sight seeing and sneaking around. Her eyes began to blur her out and when she wasn't watching, she bumped into three ducks and 2 eagles perching on clouds resting after a hot day. The summer sun began to set and she continued flying. Instead of sneaking up on them, she would have to meet Rainbow Dash in person at a theater in Cloudsdale to get her away from Soarin. She thought of that idea, as she continued flying.
After the Tryouts
It was an evening after the tryouts, Rainbow and Soarin were busy doing Rainbow's first day of training as a wonderbolt. " This is so exciting", Rainbow said to herself. She always dreamed of training and flying with her heroes. Finally, she made her dream come true. Then she heard somepony calling her name.
"Rainbow Dash, snap out of it", called Soarin.
"Oh sorry Soarin", said Rainbow blushing red.
"You ready to start".
"Whenever you are". Soarin then leaned in and gave her a kiss on the cheek. Rainbow was then speechless when he did that action. "Okay let's start".
"I want you to run not fly, okay Rainbow?".
"Got it". Then she ran around the cones, then Spitfire just ran in front of her without even looking. Rainbow then ran into her when both of them toppled on top of each other. " Rainbow, where you're going next time, okay?" Spitfire said raising a concerned eyebrow.
"Okay I'll be careful next time". Rainbow's face then turns red.
"Rainbow, why don't you go and take a break. I need to speak to Spitfire about your progress", Soarin said flying off.
Meanwhile,Whirlwind was watching them from a cloud above them. "Darn it, should have waited until it was the right time", Whirlwind said softly to herself. Then she flew off to tell her friends what she saw.
"Rainbow I'm back, sorry for keeping you waiting".
"That's alright Soarin".

"Guys, my ex-coltfreind is with a mare I've known since summer flight camp", Whirlwind said to Emerald Envy.
"But how?" asked Emerald.
"Don't worry, you'll find out".
