Story of my life

Star Flame was on the run.

He had been on the run since he had put a single hoof outside of the Canterlot hospital.

Star Flame was on the run because he was a changeling, and hadn't realized until about two days ago. Sure he had questioned why he had wings and a horn most of his life, but then The Incident happened. He didn't like to talk about it. But surprisingly after waking up in the hospital, Star Flame found out that he was, in fact, a changeling.

But as soon as he came out of the building the Royal Guard was in hot pursuit. Star Flame had been found in different towns across Equestria. This surprised him.

How do they keep finding me? Star Flame thought. He had one place left to go, his home in Ponyville. It was there that Star Flame knew the guards couldn't find him. He had been run out of towns from Canterlot to Baltimare It was his last place to go.

That day Star Flame planned to sneak into his home at night. He had to be careful not to be spotted by the Night Guard. Stealth was crucial at the time, and Star Flame didn't want to get arrested. He knew that if he got caught he was surely going to face harsh punishment.

But Star Flame couldn't think about that now, he was to busy planning. He was going to hide in the bushes, move from bush to bush undetected until he got to his front door.

When night fell, Star Flame begun his plan. Moving from bush to bush, he almost reached his home when Pinkie Pie appeared in front of him.

Pinkie was shocked to see a changeling in Ponyville, and gasped. "Oh my gosh a ch-" Star Flame cut her off by placing a hoof to her lips.

"Look, I don't need you to wake up all of Ponyville so that you can announce that I'm here." Star Flame said. Pinkie just stared at him as he lowered his hoof.

"But, don't you want to have a welcome party?" Pinkie asked. Star Flame just furrowed his eyebrows.

"Yes, but can it wait until tomorrow?" Star Flame replied.

"Okay."

"Do you Pinkie Promise?" Pinkie was surprised that the changeling knew of her special promise.

"Yes I Pinkie Promise" Pinkie said, doing the proper gestures.

"Thank you, and good night." Star Flame said as he opened the door to his house and went inside.

Once inside, Star Flame closed the door and sat on his couch.

His home was of usual size, standard rooms and all. But Star Flame had made some additions to the house. There was an elevator in the living room that led to his garage where he worked on his inventions.

Home sweet home. Star Flame thought. It had been a few days since he had been home, and it hadn't changed at all. Everything was as it had been. Star Flame let out a sigh of relief. His plan went as he predicted, except, of course, when Pinkie appeared.

Star Flame went into the kitchen and made some dinner. Nothing special, just a daffodil sandwich. Then he was off to bed.

In the morning, he went to his closet and found his old cloak.

I knew this would be useful some day. He thought as he put it on the dark cloak. Star Flame then went outside to go to the market. On the way there he ran into someone.

"Ow." The pony said.

"Sorry." Star Flame said as he helped the pony up. The pony had a lavender coat, a purple mane and tail, and purple eyes.

It was Twilight.

"I don't think I've seen you around before, what's your name?" Twilight asked.

"Star Flame." Star Flame replied.

:"That name sounds familiar." Twilight said. "Well, I'll see you later." Twilight then walked off.

She must mean the party Pinkie's putting together. Star Flame thought.

Star Flame walked into the market and pulled out his grocery list.

After getting his groceries Star Flame headed home. But when he got home it was dark inside, too dark.

Light bulb must've gone out again. Star Flame thought as he hung his cloak on the coat rack by the door. He walked into what he thought was his living room.

It was quiet, too quiet.

"SURPRISE!!!" A bunch of ponies yelled as the lights turned on and they jumped out of their hiding places. There was a banner that said "Welcome changeling!" The "Surprise" didn't last long, it was immediately followed by gasps from all around the room. Everyone started having whispered conversations.

"Uh...hi?" Star Flame said to everypony in the room. He didn't get a response. Everypony just stared at him. Until Pinkie ran up to Star Flame. "You made it to the party!" she cheered

"Why wouldn't I? It's my house." Star Flame said. A few ponies were surprised. Star Flame could make out familiar faces,

Twilight, Rainbow Dash,  Applejack, Rarity, and Fluttershy who was hiding behind the couch.

"Why are you here?" Twilight asked with furrowed eyebrows.

"I wanted to come home." Star Flame replied with a bit of sadness in his voice.

Twilight didn't look like she believed him. "Why are you really here?" she asked.

"I just told you," Star Flame answered."I've got nowhere else to go, and wanted to come home."

"What about the hive?" Twilight asked with her eyebrows still furrowed.

"I...don't want to go there."

"How come you can't go to a different town?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"I've been run out of every town in Equestria, ever since I stepped out of the Canterlot hospital." Star Flame said.

"But...why were you in the hospital?" Fluttershy asked.

"I...don't like to talk about it." Star Flame said, again, with sadness in his voice.

Then the worst happened. Someone knocked on the door and said "Royal guard, open up." and Star Flame's eyes went wide with fear.
