Sweet Beginnings/The Darkness Approaches
The Darkness Approaches
Some may think you are safe. Some may think you are strong. Some may even think you can stop the inevitable. Truth be told, they are all false wishes. I am the bringer of your demise. I am the bringer of destruction. I am the bringer of Darkness. I am Dako and you will fall under my wrath!
My story begins with two young fools. They’re so happy, aren’t they? Wouldn’t it be just terrible if something happened? Oh… so glorious to see such sadness. I love it!
“Why did you… UUH!” a disgusted voice sounded from the echoing chambers of an old and worn stone structure. Large walls towered off the ground inhabited by many broken or damaged windows scattered along the otherwise bare, stone-grey face.
“I… I’m sorry Amber…” a quiet, almost scared voice responded, barely even reverberating inside the large hall the two earth ponies stood in.
One was dragging a large, rough burlap sack across to the other, straining under the weight in her teeth. Dropping at the pony’s feet, she panted, “Lux! That’s how you do it! OK?!” she shouted gently, noticing her partners reaction; cowering her head in fear behind her beautifully groomed, ruby-red mane.
The cowering pony known as Lux turned her head back ground to face the angry Amber. “O…OK… I’m s… sorry.” she apologised sincerely, stumbling over her words still scared her partner would lash out at her again. Shaking her head, letting her rough, ghost white mane float about, Amber frowned and walked up slowly and cautiously towards Lux.
“I’m sorry dear… I was just a bit frustrated… we have been going at this for a while, and I just really want to get all these items loaded and out of here ASAP. Do you understand?” she pouted as she kissed the red-headed mare on the forehead. Lux’s light purple face suddenly flushed as she flinched reactively at the kiss, expecting something worse.
“I… I understand Amber…” she replied, a hint of happiness showing in her voice again as she looked up and smiled at the flushed, orange-yellow mare in front of her. Smiling back, Amber flicked around, her tail brushing under Lux’s chin as she walked off, sensually wiggling her flank as she did so, displaying the beautiful, orange gemstone cutie-mark as she began to tidy up the mess previously made by the nervous and timid Lux, who couldn’t stop staring at her partner’s flank before she disappeared round the corner. Smiling warmly at herself, she gripped the burlap sack at her feet in her teeth, clenching them hard as to not allow the contents to fall out as they had in her last attempt. Dragging it around, Lux brought it outside, the light cascading down through the columns onto her body, revealing a purple heart on her rear, such a similar shade to her coat it seemed invisible in the dark. A stallion walked over to her from behind a large, wooden carriage on the cobbled road.
“’ere, let me get that for you Ma’am,” he insisted as he reached the pony.

A rickety carriage bundled down the cobbled stones of the Scoltland countryside. “I am so excited to be moving into the city with you!” Lux squealed fillyishly as she rested her head on Amber’s lap, who had begun to stroke through her mane as the carriage continued to ride bouncily across the highly unused, almost derelict road. Smiling at this comment, Amber leaned her head down to give Lux a quick peck through her mane onto her neck.
“I am too hun, I just hope Glascolt will at least have some jobs for us!” she exclaimed quietly, half joking and half hoping there would be. Lux buried her head deeper into her marefriend’s orange-yellow coat as she began to fall asleep. Resting her hand finally, Amber began to do the same as she leaned her body to the corner of their seats, gently laying her head on the plush pillows.

“Wakey Wakey sleepy head,” a quiet voice sounded groggily nearby as Lux leaned in to give Amber a good morning kiss. Grunting gently, Amber turned over, opening her eyes gently as she received a welcoming, warm kiss on her muzzle.
“Wha…” she began, before a yawn took over, “What’s it now Lux?” Rubbing her eyes with her front hooves, Amber sat up, looking over to the smiling but half asleep face of Lux and then to the window, where a large, grey looking city could be seen.
“Welcome to Glascolt pumpkin!” Lux exclaimed as she knocked the other mare over in a loving embrace. “Welcome to our new home!”
Oh… what a wonderful couple they make! It’s a shame they will be leaving there lives soon enough! Ohh I am just tingling with anticipation! I can’t wait to RUIN their pathetic lives! Oh how enjoyable it will be to crush there silly filly dreams! This world will be engulfed in my darkness and Celestia knows it needs it…
A slick, white painted apartment block loomed out above the couple as the familiar stallion walked around with 3 burlap sacks being dragged in his teeth. “3 down…” he huffed, almost sighing, “6 to go…” turning around, displaying his generic, child’s interpretation of a house on his flank, the mover returned to the back of the carriage to retrieve the excessive luggage.
“Thank-” Lux was beginning to say before the stallion was out of earshot, “-you” she drooped her head onto Amber who was about to start dragging one of the bags into the reception of the premium apartments.
“Lux… come on, if you want to do something nice for him, help me with these sacks in bringing them up to the apartment, OK sweetie?” she asked kindly before clasping a rough sack end in her mouth, walking towards the automatic doors.
“…OK…” Lux smiled after her marefriend, hastily grabbing a bag between her teeth and dragging it–not as quickly as Amber—towards the entrance as the mover stallion came round again with 3 more bags in his grasp.

“Okay… so, Amber C. Topaz and… Luxury I. Thames. Am I correct?” a sweet voice asked over a gloriously white metal counter. She eyed the farm-like luggage entering the establishment, silently disgusted at it.
Noticing this, Amber quickly snapped her attention back. “Yes, we paid the first rent yesterday I believe, if you need ID…” she quickly fumbled through her saddle pack before the receptionist replied.
“Oh… no ID is needed, we have all your bank data on our systems.” She faked a smile at Topaz, hoping to get these country ponies out of the lobby ASAP. Suspiciously, Topaz dragged one of the bags towards the large elevators nearby before assisting Lux with the last piece of luggage.
“Thanks…” she said as she lifted her head and stretched her neck, “…that was difficult…” she looked shyly at the receptionist behind her who quickly snapped her staring gaze from the beautiful young mare.
Jealously, Amber wrapped her front leg round her partner’s neck, pulling her into a warm and loving embrace. “Come on Lux… let’s check out our new home!” she giggled excitedly as the last bags were dropped into the elevator. The stallion watched the doors close and looked at the substantial tip left in his hooves.
“Damn….” he thought aloud as he placed the bits in his jacket pocket.
“WOW! Amber this place is amazing!” Lux admired as she stared around at the spacious room that only led off to a corridor set with many doors along it. A granite topped counter rested along the back wall, stretching along the wall revealing many components in and on top it. 4 electric stove pads squared off one are near the end in which a large metal door inset with glass stood underneath, revealing a dark cube with two, metal trays inside and an assortment of buttons and dials above.
Near the other end was a large, white metal tower with two handles above each other. A slick and small electronic keypad bent swiftly around the slightly curved exterior next to a large hole with a button above it, presumably for dispensing ice. An array of metal handled, modern-wood cupboards hugged the wall above the counter.
“It is… isn’t it?” Amber asked curiously as she peeked into all of the cupboards and drawers displayed in the kitchen. “We have plenty of space too!” she exclaimed dragging one of the burlap sacks of luggage towards the area, before removing various polystyrene boxes and placing them and the glimmering, dark blue counter surface.
“Come on Amber! Stop unpacking for a minute and come hug me!” Lux pouted as she fell back onto navy cushions that lined a white-wooden sofa.
Smiling gently as she turned around, Amber trotted up to the other arm of the furniture and gave the redhead a loving kiss. “I love you Lux...” she breathed as she released herself from the kiss. She then proceeded to lay down next to the purple mare on the spacious sofa.
“I love you too…” Lux replied as she cuddled up with her orange partner, burying her face in her white mane.
