The Apple Tree & the Olive bushby DovahbronyChaptersCan I Work Here?Fashion Spree! The Dance night and the Jacked Up Mugger.T'is almost time for the Grand Galloping Gala!Gala night!Reunions sure are nice! Can I Work Here?"Welcome to the Carousel Boutique, home to the finest--OMIGOD, IT'S THE OLIVE PIX!!! IN MY BOUTIQUE!!!" She started to rummage through her things as she looked for and found, a purple scarf. "Would you please sign my scarf, darling? Actually, it's not mine, it's Sweetie Belles'. She bought a designer back to school uniform you made within reasonable price. She simply fell in love with it. And she got the attention of quite a few colts, particularly one she's had her eye on. She said she'd die for a signature from you." "Well, Rarity. I'd love too. Just give it to me and hold on a sec." She squealed from excitement and gave me the scarf, exclaiming "AND SHE KNOWS MY NAME!!!" I signed it, and gave it back to her, watching as she admired the sensitiveness of the script in my wording; O. Pix. "Oh, thank you very kindly, darling! Sweetie Belle will be so happy. Anyways, I have two questions that have come to mind; first, how did you know my name? Second, what brings you to little ol' Ponyville?" Asked Rarity as she put the scarf on the dresser. I simply grinned and said, "10 years ago, you sent supplies to a teen mare who was friends with AJ's and who needed supplies for a fashion contest. That young mare...was me, Rarity." I watched as her jaw dropped to the floor (or it might as well have, with a gap that large, flies could come and go as they pleased). "Secondly, I got fired by my boss in Manehattan fashion industries. He gave me and my roomie Emerald Shine our last pay check, so we spent some of it on a house here in Ponyville." Rarity's face fell as she said, "YOU!?! The Olive Pix, fired from your very specialization? You're kidding, right?" "No, I'm not. I'm like from one of those stories where the king finds his pawn worthless and removes them from the battle. So yeah. I WAS thinking of opening my very own boutique, but maybe I could...work here?" I watched as Rarity's eyes grew huge and she tackled me, hugging me to the point of hardly breathing. "OF COURSE YOU COULD WORK HERE!!! Just sign these papers," she said as she levitated some papers over to me from upstairs while letting go of me. "And come back to me, where we can set up a time and date for your first day on the job. How's that sound?" "Sounds great, Rarity. And it was a pleasure meeting you." I said, shaking her hand. She looked at me and said, "Oh no, the pleasure's all mine. I hope we do meet again, Ms. Pix." I let go of her hand and walked with AJ. We stopped in front of her house, where she said, "Well, it was fun walkin' down mem'ry lane an' all, but it's supper time. See ya tomorrow, Ollie." And she went inside the house, while I stared at her...buns of steel. It was a while before I remembered I had to go home sometime. So I found the house and walked in to the aroma of biscuits and hay-fries. "We've been dieting all week. Tonight's our fat night, Ollie! We deserve it, don't you think?" I nodded in agreement as I realized my stomach had been begging for home-cooked biscuits (which Jenna Spice taught Em and me the recipe for). We sat down and ate, and after that, we brushed our teeth, got into our night-gowns, and went to bed, sure to wake up with a buzz from the champagne Emerald saved from back in Manehattan. I had pleasant dreams, some of which involved...things...going on between me and Applejack, for some reason. Fashion Spree!I woke up, and it seems I was right about that champagne. I felt like a beehive with the buzz I was getting. But I just got up, made my bed, strode to the bathroom, and got ready for the big day. Today I'd start my job at the Carousel Boutique. I'll be working alongside my idol, who helped me in my time of need ten years ago. So I brushed my teeth, got into the shower, washed off the sleepiness, and got dressed in a black tube top and an olive green tiered miniskirt. I put on a pair of black thigh-high socks and black high heels with black roses on top, and I went downstairs. I made myself some coffee and started to fill out the papers Rarity gave me the other day. Finally, I finished them and left a note that said 'Headed out for a job application. Will be back by noon. Bye,' and I left the house. I had some money, so I bought myself some daffodil and hay breakfast sandwich to go. I made it to the carousel Boutique, and went inside. Rarity was at the door, in a long luxurious white gown and a purple rose in her hair. She greeted me with a handshake and said, "Oh, hello again, Ms. Pix. Good to see you made it. Come with me so we may begin the interview." She then guided me to a desk and gestured me to sit across from her. I sat down and handed her the papers, watching as she carefully looked over the filled in form. She finally put down the papers and looked up at me. She asked, "Now, what companies did you work for before now?" I responded with, "Well, there are quite a lot, but I only remember a few. One of them, you already know, is Manehattan fashion industries. The others are actually lesser branches to some of the finest clothing stores. One is a store me and my roomie worked for at some point called Shining Emeralds, which was the name because of Emerald Shine, my roomie. The other is called JC Pen-hay's. I found the experience fun, but it wasn't good enough for the two companies. So they fired me, and I applied for the Manehattan fashion industries." She then nodded and asked me about how much I knew involving fashion. I simply lowered one side my skirt down to under my waist and said, "The evidence don't lie, honey." as I pointed to the cutie mark on my hip. She giggled with her hand over her mouth and then said, "That is true. Finally, you are about to be tested. If you can work the entire day without a problem, then you're hired. I have to get some gems for another outfit Sapphire Shores asked me to make. Good luck." I shook her hand and said, "Challenge accepted, Rarity. See you at noon." She nodded and left the boutique. I walked up the stairs and grabbed some supplies from Rarity's supplies room. I went to clipping and trimming and re-sizing and stitching until I came up with some great Autumn designer outfits. I had just finished when I heard the door open. I turned around, and in came a light Brown Stallion with pointy hair and an hourglass tattoo'd on his neck. He came up to me and said in a British accent, "Oh well, hello. I guess Rarity's finally hiring, huh?" I smiled, shook his hand, and said "Yes. This is the final thing I have to do before she can decide to hire me." He muttered to me, "Good luck." which just made me grin. I asked what he was looking for, and he told me he was looking for a tux for a date with someone. I asked him if he'd like a complimentary tailored outfit, and he nodded. I told him, "Please stand in the center of the room." and he did, while I grabbed some cloth and scissors and bobby pins. I began measuring his length, width and height. I then wrote down the measurements and began cutting. I brought the sowing machine and stitched the cloth I cut out into a dark blue suit jacket and trousers. I asked him to try on the suit jacket and the trousers while I went to making the rest of the tux. He did so, and I used silk to create the white collared shirt and the red bow-tie. I then gave him the rest and asked him to try it on in the fitting room. He stepped inside, and when I closed the door, he got changed into the tux. He said, "Okay, I'm done changing." I then opened the door, and out came the customer looking ready for that date. I looked him up and down and said, "Holy Celestia, you look good! Remember, it's a complimentary outfit, so you don't pay as much as you would normally. It's half off, so that'll be 62 bits. "Pretty good price, considering the circumstances. Anyways, I seemed to have forgotten my manners. I am the doctor." He said with a charming smile. I giggled and told him, "Well, with an introduction like that, you probably get this a lot but; Doctor who?" He laughed and said "Yes, well; No, it's...just the Doctor." And he paid the 62 bits, leaving me thinking; Who was the Doctor dating? Oh well, not like you can know everything. So I went and put the outfits I made by the door. A few minutes later, Applejack appeared with a sad face. I walked up to AJ and asked, "What's wrong, AJ?" She replied with, "I made a bet with Rainbow Dash and lost. Now, I have to get pretty-fied." I laughed as I put a hand on her shoulder and said, "It's not all that bad! Watch! You're going to love my transformation process." I urged her to take a seat. When she did, I took out my make-up kit from my purse and put some apple red lipstick on her. I then added some nice light pink blush that blended with her skin flawlessly. I put some black eye liner and pink eye shadow. I than gave her one of the outfits I made; a red collared blouse tucked into dark blue denim short shorts. I gave her a pair of knee high lace trimmed white socks and a pair of zip-up cow-girl boots. She walked up to the mirror, and put her stetson back on. She looked herself up and down and said, "Well, it is quite nice...I should do this more often." I felt my face grow hot looking at AJ in the cute yet sassy country-like outfit I made for her. I didn't blush, though. I simply said, "Now, why don't you go show off! You go, girl!" She blushed and said, "I don't know..." I smirked and told her, "No way you're backing out, now. You lost a bet and had to get 'pretty-fied' as you call it. You'll have to leave at some point. Come on, AJ! You look fine! You'll probably turn heads your way." I poked her with my elbow and said, "Well?" She smiled and said, "Oh, alright. Let me just pay for the clothes, first." She then gave me 30 bits, since I said that it was 60% off, and left. After a few hours, I heard the door open, and I saw a white filly with light pink and light purple hair walk towards the front desk. She saw me and started to grin widely. She squealed with excitement as she said, "OMIGOD! It's Olive Pix. My sister said you were here. I didn't believe her. What are you doing here?" I told her how I got fired from Manehattan fashion industries, and decided to move back here with a friend of mine. She had finally calmed down, and said, "So, you're trying to get a job here? I just know she'll hire you." I smirked and asked, "And what makes you believe this?" The response was "Because if she doesn't, I'll force her to." which just made me laugh. She asked me to make her an outfit, and I came up with a purple silk dress and matching short heels. She tried them on, and told me she felt great. I said that was good to know, and she asked me if she should pay. Rarity came in and said, "It's noo--Sweetie Belle, you look MARVELOUS!!! Don't pay, I've got it." And she took out 50 bits while she said, "It's official, Ms. Pix! You've got the job!" "YAY!!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. The Dance night and the Jacked Up Mugger.I immediately got home and Emerald asked me, "So?" I smiled and yelled, "I got the job!" Emerald ran and hugged me. When she let go, I said, "This calls for a celebration! I heard there's a great DJ at this club nearby. She'll be there tonight, and I think maybe you and AJ should come!" She said, "Sounds great but, I'm kinda busy tonight." I frowned and said "Oh...well, how's about I tell you how the night went?" "Sound great! Okay well, gotta go!" She said as she slammed the door in a hurry. "Jeez, wonder what she's so rushy rushy about." and I looked up the home phone number for the Apple Family and I called up Applejack. She picked up, and I heard, "Hello, Apple residence. This is Applejack speaking." "Hey, Applejack! I got the job! And to celebrate, I'm inviting you to come to a club with me." I said. "Well, let's see," I heard her mumble. "Where's that darn calendar book?" she said, followed shortly by the shuffling of papers. Finally, after a few minutes, She exclaimed, "Ah ha! Okay, so; I'm free tonight. Can't wait, Ollie." Happy with hearing that, I said "Okay, bye. See ya tonight, AJ." She said good bye and we both hung up. I got showered and dressed in a matter of minutes, then put on some make up. I then went to Applejack's house, and she came down in the outfit that I made her. We walked towards the club, and we took a seat at a table. They were playing 'Take Back the Night' by Justin Timbermane. I got a Pina Colada, while Applejack got a glass of Strong Cider. After a few drinks, a Stallion with blonde hair and tan skin came over and asked AJ to dance with him. The DJ, a lily white Mare with electric blue hair and red goggles, saw this and changed the song to 'Miss Independent.' They danced for a while, then I saw Applejack falling asleep, and I knew she was getting bored. I could understand that, too. He seems kinda uptight and dull. So I got up and walked towards them, saying "Oh no no no no, Mr...whoever you are. You're doing it all wrong with AJ. I'm a long time friend of hers, and I know that if there's one thing she loves to do when she dances is to kick up her heels til the break of dawn!" I then flicked my finger off the stallion's jawline and said, "Watch and Learn, pretty boy." When I flicked my finger, his head turned to the DJ stand. He watched as I spoke to the DJ, making a suggestion. The DJ smiled and nodded, grabbing a CD and popping it into her high-tech turntables. She then played the song, and Everyone heard the harmonica play. Applejack turned away from the Stallion to listen when she heard; Youtube Video She then turned to the stallion after hearing the chorus and told him, "Now this, is something I'd not fall asleep to!" And she walked towards me as she started to dance. I followed her example, and it was something I laugh at to this day. We had some serious fun, Kicking and shaking and moving, and clapping to the beat of the song. Suddenly, everyone in the club joined in, following the dance moves we were doing. The stallion who almost bored AJ to death joined in, too! It was so much fun, that I'll never forget that night. Later that night, a little tipsy from the drinks, we were walking home when some teenage colt in a ski mask and black clothes came towards us with a knife. He yelled "Give me all your bits!" We just laughed and kept walking, until he got closer, which was when AJ and I started to get pissed. I yelled at him, saying "Get a life! Didn't Nightmare Night already pass?" AJ nodded, and I saw the Colt get frustrated. He then came up to me with the knife pointed at my throat. He said, "Do you think this is funny? Give me your bits or I'll use force. And there's a possibility that I might do...other things to you and your lady friend here." and in his last sentence, he licked his lips. I punched him in the gut, broke his elbow with my head, and spat on his face as he fell on his back. I walked towards him and yelled, "I may be drunk, and I may look defenseless. But I can still kick perverted ASS-HOLES like yourself. Same with my 'lady friend' here. Fuck with a drunk bitch like me, and you'll see stars and tweetie birds!" Me and Applejack then kicked him in the face, knocking him out cold. We then headed to our homes and went to bed. T'is almost time for the Grand Galloping Gala!I woke up, and the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes was an envelope covering my eyes. I took it off my face, sat up, and opened the envelope. In it was a letter from Applejack, and it said; Dear Ollie, Woo-wee! Last night sure was fun! And as of that mugger we konked out? He's in jail. Sure hope he doesn't drop the bar of soap. Anyways, I was thinking maybe you could come meet Twilight and the others. Twilight's only going to be here for a few weeks, and she's heard a lot about you. She's constantly busy with royal duties, but sometimes it takes her back here. As of the others, they want to ask you something. Rarity told them all about you, and now they're eager to meet you. If you decide to meet them, come to the Golden Oaks Library. We'll be having a get together there. From, Applejack I smiled at the letter as I thought of meeting the others. So I got showered and dressed and went downstairs. When I sat at the kitchen table, waiting for the coffee to finish, I saw a note from Em saying; Breakfast is in the fridge. Left earlier than normal because something involving work came up. Now, me being a good lie detector, knew that she left because of some other reason that did NOT involve work at all. But I just let it go and poured the finished coffee into a mug. I went into the fridge and took out the breakfast. It was a cream cheese bagel, so I just grabbed a plate and put the bagel on it. I sat down and ate. While I did this, I took out the phonebook and looked up the number for the Golden Oaks Library and dialed it into the homephone next to me. I then heard a voice reply, "Hello?" I asked, "Hi, is this Princess Twilight Sparkle?" which was answered with a simple "Yes." I then said "I'm Applejack's friend, Olive Pix." I heard Twilight gasp and say "Oh, so you're Olive! Well, I hope you'll be coming over today. We're having a--" before I cut her off with "A get together, I know. AJ actually sent me a letter asking if I'll come, and the answer is yes, I will." I then heard Twilight say "Great. Well, see you then." and she hung up. After I hung up, I finished my breakfast and drank all my coffee, then washed the dishes and grabbed my purse and left. After a few minutes, I found the Library and knocked on the door. A lavender alicorn in a beautiful dress answered and said, "Hi! Come on in. You're a little early, only you and Fluttershy are here." I came in and saw a light yellow pegasus with light pink hair. She raised her hand and waved a little shyly. I waved back and sat down next to her. Twilight sat in front of me, and she levitated me a plate of cookies and a teacup. I took a few cookies and the teacup and sipped from the tea. I decided to start a conversation by saying "So, how long have you been friends with AJ?" Twilight smiled and said "Actually, for a few years, now. I met her when I was first assigned to go to Ponyville to check up on preparations for the summer sun festival. First thing on the list was food, which was being taken care of by Sweet Apple Acres. I introduced myself, and she shook my hand so hard it kept moving even after she let go. It was quite funny, now that I think about it." I laughed and explained that AJ was always pretty friendly. I decided to ask her something, and since Fluttershy seemed not to be the judgmental type, I said it in front of her too. "Hey, um Twilight...I was wondering if I could talk to you about something." Twilight nodded, and so I told her, "I'm...into mares." Twilight then said, "That's okay. I don't mind." "That's not all," I replied. "I like...Applejack." Twilight then said, "You want to know a secret?" I nodded, and the princess said, "AJ likes you too." "Well, I know that. She is my friend, after all." "No," she then said. "She likes, likes you." "What?" I asked. I wasn't sure if they were kidding. Fluttershy nodded and said, "Um, yes. She does, Olive. She's said quite a few things about your uh...flanks." I blushed and looked down, not realizing that I was worried about nothing. All I had to ask AJ was if she'd be my special some-pony. "I have an idea, Olive," said Twilight. "Princess Celestia sends me tickets for my friends and I for the Grand Galloping Gala every year. I think I could maybe ask her for an extra one. You could ask her to be your special some-pony." I grinned and yelled, "THAT'S WONDERFUL, TWILIGHT!!! THANK YOU!!!" and hugged her. Twilight then said as I let go, "No problem." Suddenly, Aj, Rarity and Pinkie Pie came in and sat down. We started to talk and crack jokes, and all the while I thought of what I'm going to do on the night of the Gala. Gala night!"I'm really nervous, Twilight. What if maybe you and Fluttershy misheard and she doesn't li--" was all I could get out before Twilight pinched my lips shut, making me look like I impersonate ducks for a living. She shook her head and said, "Olive, she spoke loud and clear when she told Fluttershy and I. Besides, she couldn't be lying, because she's the Element of Honesty. Now hurry up and get ready. Rainbow Dash will be here in a few. And let's be honest here; her and patience don't get along well." 30 minutes later... "Well, here we are. In Canterlot again." said Spike as we walked towards the doors to the Gala. When we opened them, it was as if I was back in the Manehattan conference rooms for the fashion industries I worked under; people who walk like they had a stick shoved up their butts and no sense of liveness. Applejack went to go set up a food stand, her Brother following. Twilight went to go dance with Spike, and Rainbow Dash went to meet Soarin. As for Fluttershy, she went to try her luck with the animals...again. I went to the fountain in the center of the garden. I looked at my reflection. I was wearing an olive green dress with a rose made of green silk stitched over my heart. I had on make up that (sadly) only the rich people could afford. I thought of how I should ask AJ when I realized there is no need to worry. Now I need to find Applejack and ask the big question. I ran, even though I was wearing high heels, to the stand that AJ had set up, and asked her if I could speak to her in private. She shrugged and said sure, then asked Big Macintosh to cover for her. "So, what is it you want to talk about, Ollie?" She said as I lead her up to the mountain at the end of the garden. I stopped walking and leaned in closer. I saw the barest hint of a blush. I took advantage of the moment and kissed her full on the lips. The moistness of her soft lips felt good against mine as I tilted my head to the right. I then backed up, and saw that Applejack's face had gone bright red under the eyes. "That," I said. She grabbed my waist and brought me in as she said, "Well believe me, I don't have a problem talking about this," and caressed my hips as she pressed her lips against mine. I wrapped my arms around her shoulders and closed my eyes, loving the sensation I was getting. We were lying in the grass, our bodies intertwined as we cuddled. I looked at her, and asked "Would you be my special somepony?" She giggled and said "Do you think I'd do that if I didn't want that?" I shook my head, and she said "I'd love that more than anything." I then helped her up and asked, "Care to dance?" She nodded, and we ran to the Ballroom, dress skirts flapping from the breeze that passed by us. We went to the center of the floor and danced to the slow remedy that was playing. The people stood in a heart shape, as it was obvious we were two mares deep in love. and that is how we became known as The Apple Tree & the Olive Bush. Reunions sure are nice!My name is Olive Pix, and I'm a friend of Applejack's. Her family and mine knew each other because we were both in the harvesting business. Me and Applejack always had fun when I finished my homework and asked to go see her. I was always getting told by my mom and dad that I'm a very pretty filly; a filly with pure black hair, skin the color of milk chocolate, and olive green eyes. I have a few freckles that cross my nose bridge, which made a lot of people call me cute. But I never really compared to AJ. A lot of Stallions would ask her to be their special somepony, but she'd constantly turn them down, saying, "I may be a bit pretty, but I'm also a li'l too young, sugarcube. And so are you" One day though, my dad had gotten a promotion from my great Grandpa that invloved the olive factory we shipped the olives that we harvest from a rare bush to for packaging. He was now in charge of packaging. So I had to move away from my friend AJ. When we got to Manehattan, we had unpacked and settled in to our new condo, but I was sad. My parents asked me what was wrong, and I simply stared into their eyes and started to cry as I yelled, "I WISH I WAS BACK HOME!!!" They looked with a sad face as I ran up the stairs into my new room. I heard them start to talk to eachother, which turned to yelling as I cried myself to sleep. Me and AJ wrote to each other daily. I'd asked how she's been, she'd ask me, and we'd talk about the crazy things that happened to us. It was fun, but not as fun as when I could actually talk to her face to face. I started to become depressed, which caused more controversy between my Mom and Dad. Eventually, my Mom and Dad agreed that when I got older, I could go and move back to Ponyville if I chose to. I then shook off the depression I had, and I became my old self again. I made friends, enemies, and discoveries in what my talent is. One day, one of the popular mares came up to me and said, "What makes you think you can walk the hallways in my presence with that raggedy thing you call a dress?" I smiled and lashed out, saying that I didn't want to steal the spotlight from her with my sense of coordination and style. She said, "Is that a challenge? I'll tell you what, blank flank; tomorrow's an Autumn-themed fashion contest. Come up with an ensemble that's better than mine, and I'll leave you alone. Lose, and I'll embarrass you so bad, when you see me, you'll need to cover your face with a paper bag." I gladly accepted the challenge, even though I wasn't sure how I expected to win against Emerald Shine; one of the most popular mares in the high school. But I signed my name in the audition form last second, and started brainstorming ideas for an outfit. I came up with one involving Autumn, which was the easy part. The hard part was finding the materials. So I sent a letter to AJ and she responded a few minutes later, saying that her new friend, Rarity, had learned of my problem and gladly gathered the materials. Immediately after reading the letter, I was covered in materials that had been magically sent here. I sent a thank you letter to AJ and Rarity, and got to work. I first took the mannequin that Rarity gave me and put it in a space where I had room to work. I asked Mom if she could help, and she gladly agreed. She came up to my room and looked at my design I drew out. She gave me a pair of scissors and marked where I should cut after she measured the size and height of the mannequin. After the cutting, she gave me the sowing machine, and I instinctively used it like a pro. She held certain parts around the mannequin while I used the bobby pins. After cutting and sowing and lining, Mom and I were done with the outfit. As we stepped back to admire it, I saw a blinding light, and the next thing I knew, on top of my waist was a mannequin with a ribbon floating in front of it. I then realized that my talent was fashion. "Hope you're ready to lose, Dweeb. I'm going to enjoy watching you stuff your face in a lunch bag." said Emerald as she walked onto the back of the stage behind the curtains. I followed her example and waited as our school principle, Mrs. Ruby, made her announcement; "Fillies and Gentlecolts, welcome to the first annual Fashion Contest! This show is a special thing we put together for the young Mares and Stallions that are into fashion. It's such a spectacular event for our school, the Running of the Leaves event has sponsored us, which is why the theme is Autumn. Now, first up is an ensemble one of our popular students, Emerald Shine put together. Com on out, Ms. Shine!" "Watch and weep, loser," said Emerald Shine as she stuck her tongue out at me and walked up to Mrs. Ruby. She grabbed the microphone and said, "Thank you, Mrs. Ruby. Now, if my model would be so kind as to show off my ensemble, I'd be happy to tell you about it." And when her model walked up to the stage, Emerald's outfit looked absolutely stunning. It was an orange dress, with red and yellow leaf design stiched on, and around the waist was a belt colored red with a Topaz gem in the center. For the shoes were orange high-heels. "This dress came to me when I thought of the beautiful array of colors that appear in Autumn. "The red and yellow leaves on the orange background resembles the leaves about to fall off a tree with orange leaves. The belt is to match the red leaves, while the Topaz gam in the center of it matched the orange leaves and the orange high-heels. The dress altogether shows a simplicity to itself, while creating the beauty you bring with you on a date." Mrs. Ruby took the mic and said "Thank you, Ms. Shine. Now up next is a sophomore trying to fit in, whose name is Olive Pix!" I walked up to the stage and grabbed the microphone, and said, "I'll be honest with you, I'm glad I decided to enter the contest, because it told me my talent is fashion. And I hope that after you see my dress, you'll think the same." I then signaled for my model, Jenna Spice (whose talent is cooking) came up and looked absolutely marvelous. My ensemble was a bow-tie ribbon that wrapped around her head, the bottom hidden with her long brown curly hair. The bow was red, as was the leaf-charm pendant around her neck. She wore a red and orange plaid shirt, tucked under an orange miniskirt with red and slightly yellow leaf imprints on them. Below that, she had on orange over the knee socks with red-trimmed lace at the top. On her feet were dark yellow short-heels which matched the yellow leaves on her skirt. She had orange eye shadow with red eye-liner. with that was some topaz lipstick, and Jenna herself added the pink blush, which complimented her eye color (light pink). Everyone gasped at the transformation as I showed them (with permission) pictures of what Jenna looked like before and after the change. Her long-time crush, John (a pegasus) sat there amazed, looking her up and down. He must've come to his senses, because he hollered, "Jenna, I've been holding this in since freshman year; would you be my special somepony!?!" Jenna held in tears of joy as she screamed, "YES!!!" and got off the stage to kiss him. Mrs. Ruby looked at me, astonished, and said "An ensemble that makes people realize what they've really felt I'd say is definitely a winner. But it's sadly not up to me to decide. JUDGES...MAKE YOUR CALL!!!" The first judge on the leftlt with a three-piece and a fashionable mustache said "Olive, darling, that outfit was splendid! I say, hats off to you, Dear Mare! 10 for Olive!" as he raised a sign was a ten written on it. "Ms. Shine, while your outfit was fashionable, Olives' ensemble was absolutely adorable. I'd want to buy it in an instant! I hope you understand as I raise my 10 for Olive, darling," said a lovely mare in the middle with red lipstick to go with her dress. Finally, a Gentlecolt to the right (wearing a casual made up of a blue and black plaid shirt, slim-fit jeans, a blue neck-tie and leather loafers) looked back and forth between me and Emerald. I bit my lip and he said "Amazing how that builds up tension. Listen, Ms. Shine; I looked at your outfit and thought, 'there's no way the next contestant will beat this dress.' I, however, was wrong. Olive," he then said, turning his head to face me. "Your ensemble stood out for me because it had a cute, sassinees I hadn't seen in the longest time. It caught my eye, so I say this goes to you, Ms. Pix my dear." And he raised his sign, which had a ten written in red ink. "Well then," said Mrs. Ruby on the mic. "The winner is Olive Pix!" Emerald's jaw dropped to the floor as I smirked. I then ran up to Jenna and gave her a bear hug. "Thanks for sporting the outfit well, Jenna. You've been a great help." She simply frowned and said, "I didn't do anything. YOU are the one that deserves all the credit. You've been a great friend, for starters. And because of you, I've finally found love. Do you think maybe..." I stopped her and said, "Of course you can keep the outfit, Jenna. I can simply make it over again. Enjoy yourself, hun." I then walked away to recieve my prize at the stage; A trophy with a piece at the top that resembled my cutie mark, and some sponsorships from the top fashion magazines in Manehattan. I looked over to Emerald, who was knelt down on the floor, crying. I felt sorry for her, and gave everything to my mother, who had attended. I walked up to her, and offered out my hand. I said, "I'm sorry you lost, Em. But maybe we can be friends." She took her face out her hands, looked up at my face, and smiled. She took my hand, and got up. She then said, "I would gladly accept your friendship, Ollie." 10 years later... "Oh, man! Olive, I'm so glad we're moving to your hometown as roomies! What I really needed was to leave Manehattan." said Emerald Shine. In the past ten years, we've been noticed by many of the Stallions out there. Emerald, of course, dated most of them. But me, I'm just not into Stallions as much. In fact, now that I think about it, I'm not into Stallions at all. I'm what some ponies would call a fillyfooler. In other words, I was into mares. I leared of this when I thought a classmate of mine, a gray pegasus mare with eyes in different directions, was very cute. I even asked her out. She frowned and said, "I would, but I can't see what you look like. How would I be able to kiss you if I can't see properly? Sorry, but no." I could actually understand where she was coming from on that. That was when I found out. So as I stared out the window of the train, watching the trees pass by, Emerald moved over and sat in front of me. She looked at my face and said, "Ollie, what's wrong?" I looked at her and said, "I just, don't know what to do, Em. You already know of my complicated relationship, and you understand. The thing is, however, is that my old time friend Applejack from Ponyville might not. I'm afraid of what might happen if I tell her." She grinned and said, "If she was truly your friend, then you shouldn't worry, Ollie. She'll be able to understand." "And if she doesn't?" "Then you kick her gay-hating little ass! If she turns out not to understand, that is." She said. She did have a point. So I then gave her a hug and said "Thank you for the good advice, Em." She simply smiled and said "Don't worry about it, I got your back." "IF YOU ARE GETTING OFF IN PONYVILLE, THEN NOW IS YOUR CHANCE!!! THE NEXT AND FINAL STOP IS CANTERLOT!!!" I heard the ticket puncher say as I woke up Emerald Shine. She grabbed her things and I grabbed mine, and we got off. I checked the map and it said that our house was conveniently located near Sweet Apple Acres. This gave me the idea to go see how Applejack is doing. But first things first, we have to find the houe. After a few hours of walking, we reached our new home. Our bosses are to thank. They decided that they didn't need us anymore, and gave us our last paycheck. I bought the house while Emerald bought the suitcases to carry the luggage. She always said that one day, we could be roomates in Ponyville. So anyway, after unpacking and settling in, I decided to take a shower while Emerald went to the stores to buy food. After I took my shower, I put on some panties and picked out my favorite dress; the very same one that helped me win that fashion contest 10 years ago. I magically stretched it out, so it still fits me. I went downstairs and left a note, saying that I was going to Applejack's to see how she's been. I then left the house and followed the map to Sweet Apple Acres. When I got there, I saw a huge Stallion with a wheat reed sticking out of his mouth dragging a plough. 'That must be Applejack's older brother, Big Mac. Wow, almost didn't recognize him.' I thought as I walked towards the house. I decided to stop to see him, and when I poked his shoulder, he turned and his jaw dropped. "Who...who are you?" He said, baffled. I smiled and said, "Ya know, for someone as smart as you, I'm surprised that big noggin of yours doesn't remember me." He squinted his eyes as he tried to remember, then his eyes got as wide as balloons as he said "Olive? Wow, you...wow." "Yeah, I grew up. And I got my cutie mark back in Manehattan." After I said that, I pulled down one side of my skirt to show him the fashion cutie mark on my waist. "That's...that's great, Olive. Well, I would continue to talk, but I gotta finish up here with the plowing." and he turned around to finish up the job. 'Well, that's odd. Normally, he doesn't talk as much. He never struck me as a social person.' I thought. I then pulled the skirt back up and walked towards the door I knocked, and Granny Smith answered, and adjusted her glasses as she said "Well, jus' look at yer! Yer cute 'nuff to eat! You a friend of AJ's, darlin'?" "Actually, yes. It's me, Olive. I moved here. I came to see how AJ's been all these years." I said through my wide grin. "Oh, dear you've grown! I remember when you was just a li'l filly, constantly racing Applejack! I'll...I'll go tell 'er yer here! You jus' sit over on that there couch. Make yerself at home!" She said. She went up the stairs, leaving me to wait patiently (which I learned to do when I worked with endless customers involving their ensembles for the Grand Galloping Gala). Finally, I heard the sounds of walking as I saw the same dusty cow girl boots with painted apples on the top. She came down with a red plaid shirt tied at the bottom, revealing her lean build and belly-button and a brown skirt. Her hat was on, so it just added to her already cuteness. That's when I realized something; I fell in love with an old friend of mine. I though Applejack was hot. There, I said it. She was smoking it up. But I was very good at hiding my emotions, so I acted like I wasn't into mares, and that I didn't think was I just did a few seconds before she swept the hair out of her eye and gave me a bear hug. "OH MY GOODNESS, IF IT ISN'T OLLIE!!! How ya doin', sugar-cube? I was worried you'd never come see how things are goin' here in your old town. We need to catch up on things, Ollie." she said as she let go, leaving me gasping for air. I said, "Yeah, we do AJ. Come on, I wanna meet your new friends Rarity." She wrapped her arm around me, pinched my cheek, and said, "Sure thing, sugar-cube. My friends are your friends." So as we walked to meet Rarity first, she explained about some good things that happened while I was gone. She has a younger sister now, whose name is Applebloom. "Cute name." I told Applejack as she tried to give me a nuggie. She said, "yeah, but she's a handful, what with her Cutie Mark Crusaders and all. It was annoying at first, but after a while, it's just plain cute." "I can tell. I saw Big Mac before I knocked on the door. He's normally not the talker with his shy self, right. Well, he was happy as ever and willing to talk to me all day when I spoke to him." I said with a confused tone of voice. She looked me up and down and said, "He thinks you're cute." "No way! Since when?" I asked. She laughed and said, "Since the day you left, he developed feelings for ya. Kinda picked on him for it, but hey! You made his day." "Now I feel bad. I don't even like Stallions, and I've got one who's got the hots for me." I thought aloud. Applejack frowned and said, "Huh? You never mentioned that in yer letters. Well, hope you find a mare who catches your eye." She said, winking. I looked skeptically as she said, "Well, here we are. The Carousel Boutique. Rarity remembers you, practically raves about you being on fashion magazines galore. Hope you're ready to meet your Ponyville fan." and she lead me in, letting go of me as Rarity came down the stairs, yelling "Coming!" Finally, she reached the bottom after a few minutes and said, "Welcome to the Carousel Boutique, home to the finest--OMIGOD, IT'S THE OLIVE PIX!!! IN MY BOUTIQUE!!!"
