Prologue
Dear Twilight Sparkle.
I have decided that it is time you to have some sponsibility and Therefore have decided to apoint you
an apprentice.
Her name is Crescent moon and she will be arriving in
a weeks time.
I trust that you shall pass on the knowledge that you have learned
from me. Take care as she has enough magical potential to rival yours.

Curious Creatures of Equestria: Nekos
A bipedal feline race Nekos are one of the few races that can consciously practice magic and one of the only non pony races to develop Cutie Marks. Unlike ponies a Nekos cutie Mark will appear on its shoulders rather than its flank. Nekos unlike ponies wear clothes on a regular basis and have clothes specifically designed for their physique.
"You're a Neko!?!
That was the last response Crescent had expected from Twilight.
"Y-yes. Didn't Princess Celestia tell you I was a Neko?"
Replied Crescent, surprised that the princess had omitted that particular detail.
"No. She only said that I would be getting an apprentice! But enough about that I'm Twilight Sparkle your mentor land these are my friends Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity and Fluttershy and thes-" Twilight was abruptly cut off as three Fillies about the same age as Crescent bounced up to her. "Hi there!" Said the white unicorn with the purple mane "I'm Sweetie Belle!" "Ahm Apple Bloom!" A yellow earth pony said pushing in next to the unicorn "And I'm Scootaloo" A small orange pegasus said jumping onto th back of the other two. "And we're the Cutie Mark Crusad-" They began to say before collapsing into a heap. As the older ponies all came up and started greeting her (with the exception of Fluttershy who could only manage a choked meep!) Crescent Moon began feeling welcomed and fell in beside Pinkie Pie as they began walking toward the Golden Oaks Library.

Chapter 1: The Arrival
Nine ponies stood on the small platform of Ponyville's only train station each of them with their own thoughts and feelings about this new arrival. For the three little fillies it meant a new friend and possibly a new member for their club, for the pink earth pony it meant another pony to make smile and another excuse for a party, for the cyan Pegasus, orange earth pony and white unicorn it ment another mischief maker for the countless sleepovers they hosted, a certain shy pegasus was simply apprehensive about meeting a new pony and a purple unicorn simply paced around in nervous excitement at the thought of teaching an apprentice.
" Oh when will the train be here?"
Wondered a nervous Twilight Sparkle. She had spent the last week since receiving Princess Celestia's letter preparing a room for her new apprentice and was begging to worry as the train was already ten minutes late.
"Ya'll need to calm down sugar cube. Yer apprentice'll arrive in due time."
Was her friend Applejack's reply.
"Yeah! I just hope she LOVES the party I planned for her!"
Was Pinkie's reply ecstatic as usual.
"Everypony shh! The train's here!"
Squealed Twilight. At that moment the train pulled into the station and the doors opened. Ponies of all walks of life poured out of the train until onlyvafew passengers remains on board. Looking around anxiously Twilight felt a tap on her back and a voice said.
"Are you Twilight Sparkle? I'm your new apprentice Crescent Moon."
Turning around Twilight saw not a unicorn as she had expected but a creature about as tall as Scootaloo standing on her hind legs. She had a catlike face and tail and had paws with opposable thumbs her fur was dusky grey with darker tabby stripes she had piercing eyes one grass green the other ice blue and silver shoulder length hair.
"Your a Neko!?!"
