Load Full Story"Doctor?" A quirky voice said from the kitchen of a small house.
"Yes Ditzy?" A British voice said from outside.
"Could you go out and pick up a bushel of apples? I have a new muffin recipe I am just dying to try out for Dinky."
The doctor let out a sigh.
"Can't you do it? You know I don't like apples. (and that's putting it lightly.)"
"Sorry Doctor. I would but I promised I'd be there to pick up Dinky after school today." The doctor groaned.
"Ooooh alright I guess." And with that, he headed into town.
As he approached the apple stand, The doctor noticed a sign. "CLOSED FOR FAMILY MATTERS."
"Perfect. Just bloody perfect. Well, I'm to far from the house. to go back to the TARDIS and pop back a day...I guess I'm paying the Apple family a visit." The doctor, while he has nothing against the Apples, can't help but remember the intense feeling of discomfort he felt one day when the youngest forced him to buy a much unneeded bushel of apples whenever he meets them.
"Right then, off to Sweet apple Acres I suppose."
Upon arriving, the doctor noticed a sort of gloomy feeling around the place.
"Excuse me miss, could you help me with something?" he said to an orange mare in a Stetson.
"Oh!" she said, a bit startled. " Sorry, ah didn't see ya there. What can ah do ya for?" The doctor looked to the same place the orange mare had been a moment ago. There, sulking under a tree was the young filly who had forced him to buy that bushel of apples.
"Er...yeah...um could I get a bushel of apples please?" he said, still distracted by the sad filly.
"Fine but I'll have to charge ya extra. The stand was closed y'know."
"yeah sure. Mind you, but is that little filly over there alright?" The doctor had a real interest when it came to helping others, especially children. The mare seemed a little irritated at this. "Like the sign on the stand said we're goin' through some stuff right now. If y'all don't mind, it's a tad personal." Now feeling inclined to help the filly, the doctor persisted asking until the mare gave in and shouted at him.
"FINE! If ya really must know, it's the anniversary of the day mah parents died an' she was too young to have any memory of 'em! YA HAPPY NOW SIR ASKS A LOT!?" The mare stormed off.
"(I have to help that little filly somehow...)" He walked up to her.
"Excuse me. are you alright?" She wipes her eyes and looked at him.
"Hey *sniff* don't ah know you?" Having to repress the intense feeling of awkwardness from the apple incident, he replied.
"You...er...you've probably seen me around...I'm the doctor...just...the doctor." She wiped her eyes again.
" *sniff* oh, I've heard Dinky talk about all sorts of things you've done. Ah don't think any of it really happened though. I'm Apple Bloom by the way"
"Oi,of course it...look, your sister told me why you're feeling down (a bit more loudly than necessary.) and I think I may be able to help. Quite a bit actually." Apple Bloom looked unconvinced.
" Ah don't think you can unless those stories about your magic box are true." The doctor smirked at that last part. He loved seeing the reaction of others, especially those who were skeptical, when they first see the inside of the TARDIS.
"Oh I think you'd definately be surprised." Seeing as he was as of now not on the best of terms with the Apple family, the doctor would need to convince Apple Bloom to sneak away to meet him at the TARDIS.
"Come meet me by Sugar Cube Corner in an hour. Trust me." This plan worked better than expected because Apple Bloom agreed.
The doctor had parked the TARDIS on a street corner where he said he would and Eagerly waited for Apple Bloom to show up.
"Ah'm here Now what is supposed to make me feel better?" The doctor laughed and opened the door.
"it's in here. Go on then." Apple Bloom looked at him with confusion and proceeded to step inside. Quickly she ran back out and looked around the sides.
"But...but how? It's..."
The doctor interrupted "Bigger on the inside?" They both stepped back inside.
"This may be hard to believe, but those stories you heard from Dinky? True every single one." Apple Bloom was still in shock.
"Ah just don't believe it!" The doctor began pushing buttons and pulling levers.
"Do you happen to know when your parents died?" Pulled back into a bit of sadness Apple Bloom replied
"9 years ago today...I was only a few months old."
"Then I'd better go about a year before that then. What do you know about them?" Apple Bloom got a little more sad.
"Well, mah sis said that they were real nice, kind, and carin' folk. Oh and that there is a recipe for apple cobbler that only mom knew how to make."
"Is that so? Cheer up then, you'll really like this next bit. Hold on tight." He pushed a few more buttons and just before pulling the final lever he excitedly shouted "ALLONS-Y!" and they took off.
