Where is he!” panicked the teacher First day on the job and already she has lost a student. She frantically searched for the student, hopping to find him before the principal comes to check up on her. It was only a moment ago that he sat in his seat attentive to her words. When she finished, he had disappeared. Now she asked the class to help her with her search. Her final resort was to call the office, but an event like this would be a horrible first impression. “Has anyone seen him yet?” asked the teacher. A knock on the door disturbed the search. She hoped that it was the missing student, probably pulling a prank. Her worst fear was that he or she would be the principal. She calmed the class and asked everyone to return to the seats. She marched slowly, trying to be calm and not loose her composure. When she reached the door, fear struck her when she opened the door. She opened the door slowly while trying to regain her composure. There stood a young girl. She had velvet golden brown hair and vivid black eyes. Her books were held tightly to her chest, showing how shy she was to be here. Her looks seem as though she is a couple years younger than the majority of the class. Her appearance grabs the attention of the male sex in the class. In reaction, she raises and holds her books tighter to cover her face. “Can I help you miss,” asked the surprised teacher. “Yes…”said the girl in a quiet tone “And how could I help you?” “Is this the third floor class 2-301?” She gradually grows quieter as she speaks “Yes, is there someone you need?” “No, I’m supposed to be here.” “Oh, you must be the new transfer student.” Even more surprised at these facts, “What is your name?” “Lena…” “Lena… Oh! Lena Wolf from Missouri! Am I correct? “Yes you are…” “Please take the seat next to…” She suddenly remembered the missing boy she was searching for. She said in haste, “Please sit next to… Chris Lukert, Am I correct?” “Yes you are mam.” Said the tall blonde haired boy in the back. Lena hurriedly shuffled to her seat while the teacher returned to the current matters. As Lena sat, Chris introduced himself, “Hi” “Hi” replied Lena. “You know me already, so,” It seems Chris always had trouble talking to girls, “This is Tim who sits in front of you…” Tim interrupts, “Pleasure to meet you” as he holds out his hand. Lena retreats behind her books. Tim replies to the situation in a friendly tone, “its ok, just glad to meet you. If there is anything you need to know, Chris is the guy to ask, and if there is anywhere you want to go, I’m the guy to ask.” Lena noted that remark and replied, “Umm… Chris?” “Yes?” “Is sleeping on a tree a custom here?” Chris is puzzled, “No, I don’t think so.” “Then why is he out there?” said Lena as she pointed to the boy outside sleeping quietly on the tree branch. “Oh, that’s Luke…” Chris paused at that name and looked to the teacher, “Ms. Alley, I found Luke.” The teacher looks in surprise and joy, “Great! Where is …” The teacher looks where Lena is pointing and notices Luke. She screamed, “Oh my God! Why is he out there, how did he get out there, what is he doing…” “Sleeping.” Interrupts Tim The class joined in on the commotion, creating uproar of bewilderment and laughter. The teacher shoots Tim a ‘you’re in trouble glare’ as Tim is stuck between a laugh and a cringe. “Can someone, no wait I take that back…” The teacher ponders about the situation. Chris stood up to offer a suggestion, “He’ll come in when the bell rings Ms. Alley.” “No, he probably won’t, we need to get him down now. I’m calling the front office.” A sudden sound filled the air, the sound of the bell. She stops what she was doing to dismiss the class to their assigned schedules. Mrs. Alley leaves to take to someone, anyone who can help her. Most of the Kids leave, except for the three in the back. . Lena looks at her schedule with confusion. Chris notices her and comes to her need, “Lena, do you need help getting to classes?” “Ye…yes.” Quietly replied Lena “Ok then, where do you need to go?” “Ms. Munroe’s chemistry.” “Oh, for that you need to ask Luke, but he is still unavailable…” “No he’s not,” she says abruptly as she points to the boy sitting next to her, “He is right here.” Chris’ jaw drops at the sight of Luke. Luke helps him gather his thoughts, “Long times no see Chris. And Lena I presume.’ “Yes…” “The class is two floors up and last class on the left. I need to get to class now.” With that, Luke rises and exits the classroom, but through the window, just as he came in. “Does this happen often?” Lena asks as she reaches for her backpack. Chris grins, “If you think this is something, you should see him in the woods nearby.” Chris meant that statement to be rhetorical, mainly because no one sees him after school, the woods is the only place he is, but no luck in ever seeing him Lena leaves to make it on time to class, she says to herself, “Maybe he is… no, it can’t be.” Chris mutters under his breath as he himself also prepares to leave, “Well Luke, you did it again.”
