Missing Something
Chapter 1
“Where would you like to land?”, One of the pegasi asked.
Octavia looked at the letter Vinyl had sent her quizzically 'her hand writing is awful' The grey mare thought to herself, "Umm, I think she wants me to meet her at the center of town, So if that's fine with you."
"On it." both pegasi said simultaneously as they dove straight for the center of town.
Octavia winced at the landing, it was a little harsh. As she hopped off the carriage her face turned a little green, one of the pegasi apologized for the landing while the other snickered, "Not used to flying, are you?", Octavia gave him a glare, he only snickered more. Octavia sighed as pulled out her cello and her suitcase, saddlebags already in tow; she had packed lightly her cello, some dresses and enough bits to last her a year or so was all she needed.
She paid the pegasi and watched them leave. She looked at the letter again it seem to say she was supposed to meet Vinyl at noon. She asked someone for the time, "Its 11:35" replied a mare with blue and white mane as she pointed to a clack on a wall. "Thank you", Octavia said as looked at the clock, 'Maybe I will have enough time to grab some food.' she thought to herself.
She looked around only to see a stand with an orange coated mare selling apples, Octavia walked up to her.
"Howdy! haven't see ya around these parts you must be new here, the name's Applejack, whats yours?"
"Its Octavia and yes I am new" she replied the mare seemed nice enough.
"Well great its nice to meet someone new around here, anythin' ya looking for specifically for or are ya just here for apples?"
"A little of both, do you know my friend Vinyl Scratch?"
"Ah reckon ah do, she's the new DJ around, I'm not much for that kind of music but I'm pretty sure that's her, if ya need to find her I think ya should ask Pinkie Pie she's at Sugarcube Corner she knows everybody in town." the orange mare replied as she pointed her hoof to a very decorated sweet shop.
"That won't be necessary, but thank you anyway, oh and may I buy a few apples from you?"
"Right here" Applejack said as she grabbed a paper bag with several apples in it.
"Thank you", Octavia said as she handed Applejack a few bits and took the bag.
"No thank you! Maybe I'll see ya around town again."
"That would be lovely, goodbye miss Applejack." Octavia said with a smile as she walked away and waved her hoof. Applejack waved her hoof back.
'Well she was nice, a little rustic but nice.' Octavia thought to herself as she walked back to the center of town.
She sat down and ate a few apples and marveled at how sweet they were. As soon as she was done she felt someone tap her shoulder she turned and smiled.
"Hey 'Tavi! It's been a while hasn't it, I'm not late am I? I was hoping to catch you before you got here, but your'e already here.", said a familiar white unicorn.
Octavia Immediately hugged her and said "It has, and no your not late" with a tear in her eye.
They stood there like that for a couple minutes, until they started getting a few weird looks, then they pulled apart and blushed.
"Come on 'Tavi lets go to my place, then I can show you around town!" Vinyl said as picked up Octavia's suitcase with her magic and started trotting away.
"Alright Vinyl, where do you wan't to go then?" Octavia said as picked up her cello and then stared walking with her.
"Sugarcube Corner! I have to introduce you to Pinkie Pie, she's awesome."
"Oh some one just told me about her just a little bit ago, she told me if I need to find anyone I should go see her."
"Really, who?"
"I believe her name was Applejack."
"Oh you met Applejack huh? She's a good friend of Pinkie, she's pretty cool too."
They chatted a little more before reaching a house fairly close to a large tree that looked like someone was living there.
"Here we are!" Vinyl said as she opened the door and walked in followed by Octavia.
Octavia was surprised at how clean it was, at least as clean as it could be with all the speakers, subwoofers and other various DJ equipment laying around.
"Yeah its pretty great isn't it, I cleaned up a little bit before you got here, looks much better without pizza boxes everywhere"
"I would assume so..."
"Come on I'll show you your'e room, then we can go to Sugarcube Corner, I'm starving.", Vinyl said as she pulled Octavia to the upstairs.
"Here is your room!" It was a simple room with a small bed, a nightstand with a lamp, and a dresser with a mirror above it.
Octavia set her cello down and Vinyl set Octavia's suitcase down.
"I have to thank you again for letting me stay here, you don't know how much I need this."
"No problem! Now let's go I'll give you the gran tour later." Vinyl said pulling Octavia along with her.
As they walked through the door to Sugarcube Corner they were immediately greeted by a very excited pink mare.
"Hey Vinyl! How are you, Is this you friend you told me was coming to stay with you because I don't know her and I know everyone in Ponyville so it must be her! Oh my gosh, I totally have to throw her a party!" Pinkie said so fast Octavia could not even process half of it.
"Hey Pinkie, I'm fine, and yes this is my friend Octavia."
"Hello" Octavia said holding out her hoof.
Pinkie took it and shook it with gusto, "Hi, my names Pinkie Pie! I work here at Sugarcube Corner, would you like a cupcake?" Pinkie said while pulling a cupcake from out of nowhere.
"Umm, okay." Octavia took it deciding it would not be best to argue with her.
"Do you mind if I have a few too? I'm kind of hungry.", Vinyl said taking out a few bits and giving them to Pinkie.
"Sure! Go find a table and I'll come back with some!"
Vinyl and Octavia walked over to a table and in almost an instant Pinkie was back with three more cupcakes for the two of them.
The door opened and Pinkie dashed off to see who it was.
"So 'Tavi what do you think of Pinkie?"
"She's... interesting, she's like you but crazier."
"Sounds about right", they both laughed.
They talked for a while longer catching up and laughing.
Octavia thought to herself 'Maybe it was Vinyl that was missing, maybe I should have given her a chance with that da-"
"umm, he-hello?" asked a yellow pegasus.
Octavia dropped the cupcake she was eating.

Chapter 2
"he-hello?" The yellow pegasus said again confused at the lack of a reply.
Octavia just stared, she tried to speak but no words came out, a light blush appeared on her face.
Vinyl gave Octavia a confused look. "Hey Fluttershy, this is my friend Octavia; Octavia say hi."
"Hello, I'm cello and I play the Octavia.", the gray mare mumbled.
"Uh 'Tavi, you okay?" Vinyl said while waving a hoof in front of the gawking mare.
"You think she's okay?", Pinkie, coming out of nowhere, whispered to Vinyl.
"I dunno, she's usually not like this, she's normally more... proper.", Vinyl whispered back.
Octavia composed herself, "I mean, I'm Octavia and I play the uh cello.", she said smiling nervously blushing even more.
"Um Pinkie told me that you're Vinyl's friend that just moved here, I'm Fluttershy and I take care of animals. Nice t-to meet you.", Fluttershy stuck out her hoof.
"N-nice to meet y-you too", Octavia said gently shaking Fluttershy's hoof.
"I think we should go home, all this walking around must be getting to Octavia's head. Thanks again Pinkie for the cupcakes, and see you later Fluttershy", Vinyl said grabbing the grey mare's tail.
"Goodbye." Octavia said waving her hoof while Vinyl dragged her out the door.
"Well she was nice.", Fluttershy said
"I dunno Fluttershy, she was kind of silly and I know silly; luckily for her I like silly."
"Sure you do Pinkie; do you think I could buy some carrot muffins, Angel's being picky again, that's actually what I'm here for."
"Sure, right here!.", Pinkie said while taking some form the counter.
"Thanks Pinkie, I probably should go home too Angel's probably starving.", the yellow pegasus said while taking out some bit and handing them to Pinkie.
"Well, see you later then!"
"Bye Pinkie."
"What was that all about?" Vinyl said walking through the door to her house.
"What was what all about?" Octavia said while kicking the dirt off her hooves before walking inside.
"You know at Sugarcube Corner, with Fluttershy, you were gawking at her like a school filly."
"I was most certainly not!", The grey mare said face redder than a tomato.
"Oh come on 'Tavi, you were practically drooling over her.", Vinyl said giggling.
"Oh quiet you." the grey mare mumbled.
"I know she's cute and all but I thought you didn't even like mares.", the white unicorn said while sitting down on her couch.
Octavia followed suit, sitting next to her friend, "Now that is definitely not true, I never said that."
"What about when you rejected me?"
"Just because I didn't want to date you, does not mean I don't like mares; I'm sorry, but I only see you as a friend."
"Don't worry 'Tavi, I'm over that."
"Thanks goodness, you don't know how bad I felt after you left, and soon enough I really started to miss you."
"I really missed you too 'Tavi, it really has been way too long.", they shared a quick hug.
"Even though I really missed you, moving here was just what I needed, let just say a certain somepony has caught my attention."
"How cute, have you asked her out yet?"
"No, I haven't asked her out yet."
"What is her name?"
"Umm I'll introduce you to her later she lives just down the street, she's a friend of my friend and they've been hanging out more often lately so maybe I can introduce you to them both."
"Just this about it 'Tavi, you can ask Fluttershy out and I'll ask out my filly and we can all go on a double date!"
"That sounds like a terrible idea I met Fluttershy once and didn't make the best impression and from what it sounds like you hardly know this mare you like also."
"Aha! So you admit it you like Fluttershy, I caught you red hooved!"
"I admit nothing!", Octavia yelled while jumping off the couch and running off into another room laughing.
Vinyl followed her laughing as well, "Come back here and admit you have a crush on her!"
"Never, you can't make me!"
"Oh you wanna bet?", the white unicorn said tackling her and immediately attacking her with the tickle hooves of death.
"No, Vinyl stop! You know I'm ticklish!", the grey mare said laughing uncontrollably.
"Not until you admit it!"
"Never!", she said barely able breath.
"Have it your way, I'll just tickle you until you say it!" Vinyl said attacking her with another onslaught of tickles.
Octavia couldn't take it anymore, "Okay I admit it!"
"Admit what?" Vinyl said while still ticking her but slowing down so they grey mare could speak.
"I like Fluttershy!"
"And?"
"and I think she really cute!"
Vinyl stopped her assault, "Now don't you feel better, it's always nice to get that kind of stuff out."
"Don't you ever do that to me again", Octavia said catching her breath and blushing madly.
"Now what about this mare you like, you never answered my question, whats her name?"
"Like I said I'll introduce you to her later."
Octavia pouted, "Fine"
"Jeez 'Tavi sometimes you more like a kid than even me" Vinyl said looking at the clock, "Oh wow, it's already time for dinner."
"How did all that time pass so quickly?"
"I dunno blame the author."
"What?"
"Nothing, lets get some pizza!"
"Isn't there something else we could have, you know something with more class?"
"Nope!", Vinyl laughed.
Octavia facehoofed.
