Planning for Christmas
It was only 12 days till Christmas and Minty, a small pony with bright green fur and a tail and mane of green and white, was so excited. She had everything planned out. Everything was ready except that she needed a winter project! Soon, they were going to have a selection of many projects that the ponies made for winter. Who ever wins, there project will take part in this winter forever. Like a couple weeks ago, a small blind pony named snowdrop made a beautiful snowflake. Ever since then, it has snowed. This year Minty had a grand idea! She was going to make a tree covered in beautiful decorations. Like those candy canes that Santa Hooves put in your stocking! But she still needed lots of stuff. At the time Princess Celestia was outside making the town icy and shimmery. Minty stay by her bedroom window and watch. As soon as she finished, Minty ran outside with a scarf and began to skate on some ice. Just then Rainbow Dash showed up in her brand new scarf. It was gorgeous. It had a bright pink outline and made its way down from pink to red to orange to yellow to green to light blue to blue to purple and back to pink!
"Hey Minty. Like my scarf? I made it myself" Said Rainbow dash "I like yours... But it's kinda plain. Don't cha think?"
"Yea, but greens my colour right? Besides, I shouldn't wear some bright pink scarf with my green minty fur!" Said Minty pointing out the obvious.
"I guess... Just like rainbows go wih rainbows!" Finished Rainbow dash
"YEA AND HOW PINK AND PINK GO TOGETHER!" Said pinkie Pie out of nowhere.
"Howdy Y'all. How you ponies doin?" Asked applejack, coming over a little snow hill with twilight, Fluttershy, spike and rarity.
"Hey um everypony... Do you have your projects done?" Asked Fluttershy
"No not yet! But I know what I'm ganna do!" Said Minty
"What! Tell me! Tell me!" Said pinkie pie
"Can't sorry. I want to keep it a secret. You will find out later though" And with that Minty walked away and into her house.
Inside, Minty found some left over gems from Rarity. She took them and took a drill, she drilled a hole through the gem and then stuck some ribbon through the hole. This made a perfect tree decoration! She kept doing this till she had about 9. Then she ran out of gems.
"hmmm... I wonder if rarity would let me borrow some more?" Minty asked herself.
Soon she answered herself and ran over to Rarity's house. She knocked on the door. Rarity answered and Minty asked for some gems.
"No problem Sugar. Let me just go get some" And rarity ran off to somewhere in her house.
When she came back she had a bucket filled to the top with gems.
"There ya go sugar. What do ya need them for anyways?" Rarity asked
"My winter project! It's ganna be grand!" Minty answered and ran out of the house.
Minty ran into her house and made 50 or more decorations of all colors. She saved a few for a new scarf or to just add to her old one. In the middle on Pony Ville was a huge tree, representing Air. Air let's us borrow it, it let's us breath, it let's us live (Sometimes!)Same goes with frendship: We can borrow it, it's kind and it let's us be better in life... She picket up the bucket of decorations in her mouth and ran to the big tree. She got a ladder and started to pile on decorations. No pony saw her.
That night, the celebration was in motion. Every pony swarmed the tree in shock. They gasp and they asked each other who did it. Princess Celestia Stand on the podium and said
"Hello Fellow Ponies. We are delighted to be here. And are astonished by the tree! May I ask the pony who did this to step up."
All the ponies looked around trying to find the pony. Finally Minty made her way through the crowd to the stadium.
"I did it!" Said Minty
"You?" Asked Princess Celestia "Are you sure. You are kinda small to decorate such a huge tree!"
"Small ponies make big things too you know." Said Minty
And with that Princess Celestia nodded and said the winner was Minty. All of Minty's friends where so happy for her. Pinkie Pie had already planned a party for the winner.
"EVERYPONY! PARTY AT MY HOUSE FOR THE WINNER: MINTY!" Called out pinkie pie
"AWWWWWWWWWW geez pinkie, you didn't have to-" And Minty was then interrupted
"I believe I did! Everything deserves to be celebrated!" Finished Pinkie pie
The other ponies then headed over to pinkie's house and they celebrated the newest history to come. There was cake and cupcakes farther then the eye can see. Minty Kept saying Thankyou till finally the party was over. After every pony left, the 6 friends celebrated by themselves with a huge cake, with a gem decorated tree on it...
"When did you make this cake?" Asked Minty.
" 'Bout 3 Days ago." Said pinkie pie
Minty and the other 4 all looked at pinkie pie wierdly thinking "How did she tell the future?". Then pinkie pie held up the cake and said
"CAKES HERE!"
The others giggled and grabbed the cake, they each took one slice of the cake and ate it. Pinkie remain hiding a secret!
And from that day fourth, Christmas trees where celebrated as a token of Christmas! Minty went on living, not knowing just how many years the tradition would carry on for.
