I was just sitting at Sugarcube Corner with Pinkie Pie, when my crush, Nightshade, walked past me. My ears flopped down and my cheeks turned red. I couldn't help but to stare at him. Just the sight of him made my heart smile. With his red wings, blood red eyes, and black mane. Things for me have been so horrible for me since Nova Flare left. Nova was the captain of the royal guard in Canterlot. I lived there before I moved to Ponyville. I went to Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns. I was one of her favorite students, next to Twilight Sparkle. I was at the castle for the Grand Galloping Galla when I caught this unicorn staring at me. Then out of nowhere, he walked up to me and asked my out. One thing after another, we started to date. After a while we both moved to Ponyville, along with my pet dragon, Amber. I continued my studies there. Things were great until we both got stressed and took our anger out on each other. He had another girlfriend back in Canterlot, that really irritated me. He started to push me away. I would leave and then come back, leave and then come back. A constant circle of hell. We both hurt each other. We emotionally abused each other. Then Nightshade came into the picture when things were rough for Nova and I. I sought shelter in Nightshade, to escape from causing pain and receiving pain. Nova was flared up with jealousy, he told me he had enough with everything that we have been doing, and moved back to Canterlot to be with Black Wing. Then it was just Amber and I. I moved in with Twilight after what had happened. She was a great support since we became friends while we were studying together at Celestia's school. Plus, Spike absolutely loves having another dragon to play with. While I was with Nova, I didn't spend much time with the other ponies, but since he left, I became more social. I quickly became friends with Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, and all the other ponies in Ponyville. I mentioned Nightshade earlier, to me he is the most amazing pegasus I have ever met. Pinkie caught me staring at him. I immediately looked away, but I looked right back. Then as soon as he bought his hot chocolate, he walked right over to me.
"Hey Lovestruck," he said as he set his mug down on the table and sat down.
"Hi Nightshade. What brings you to Sugarcube Corner this breezy afternoon?"
"Just here to get a cup of Mrs. Cake's famous hot chocolate and to see the most beautiful mare in all of Equistria."
I couldn't help but to blush and look down at my hooves. All I'm think in my head is: Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! I wasn't able to say a single word. I was just flat-out speechless. As I was about to finally say something, Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo, and Applebloom burst through the door. As they were rushing inside, Scootaloo bumped into my table, knocking Nightshade's hot chocolate all over me.
"Oh, I'm so sorry Princess. I didn't mean to. It was an accident," she said with a trembling voice and tears in her eyes.
"Scootaloo, darling, what have I told you about calling me Princess. You're just a filly. Call me Lovestruck." I used my magic to pick up a tissue to wipe away her tears. "There is no need to be scared dear Scootaloo. It was an accident. Now, girls, let me treat you little fillies to one of Mrs. Cake's cupcakes."
"Thank you Lovestruck!" they said in unison as they happily munched on their cupcakes.
I don't like being called Princess. Ponies around me usually shower me with gifts and crap just because I'm a Princess. Just because I'm an alicorn, it doesn't make me any different. The great thing about the ponies in Ponyville, is that they don't treat me like royalty like they used to. It took them quite sometime to adjust to having two princesses in town, me and Twilight. Both our situations were similar to what happened with Princess Luna on Nightmare Night. Even though I don't see myself as an Equistrian Princess, I'll always be Lovestruck, the unicorn, who always spreads love, joy, kindness, and happiness.
"That was so kind of you to give the girls cupcakes," he said giving me a smile.
"It was the least I could do. They also needed to know that I'm just a regular pony who lives in Ponyville. The only difference is that I have wings in addition to my horn. I hardly ever wear my crown. I don't like to get special treatments just because I'm an alicorn. I can't change who I am. I'm Princess Lovestruck. My job is to take care and love all the ponies in Ponyville and all over Equistria. Celestia choose me to be a Princess after my studies with her because I, too, have the characteristics of a Princess."
"Characteristics? I know Twilight does since she wields the Elements of Harmony: magic [her], honesty [Applejack], loyalty [Rainbow Dash], generosity [Rarity], and kindness [Fluttershy]. But what makes you a Princess?" he asked curiously with his eyes glimmering with anticipation.
"It's my special talent. I help spread love when its not wanted. I help ponies find love. Even myself, but I can't even seem to find myself rue love. I help others find true love when I can't. Other ponies' happiness is more important than mine." The feeling of crying swelled over me. A few tears streamed down from my sky blue eyes. His hoof wiped away my tears.
"Don't cry, my sweet. For all I know, your very special somepony could be right around the corner. You will find your true love, Lovestruck. We're still young. We have our whole lives to live," he got up and sat next to me.
I crack a small smile, "You think so?"
"I know so," he smiles. Something struck me all of a sudden. I felt my heart getting warm. Butterflies formed in my stomach. Could this be it? Could this be love? Real love? On an impulse, I close my eyes and nuzzle him. By shock, he nuzzles back. I felt a surge of whatever you wanna call it, go through my body. Then I assured myself, this is love. I'm in love. In love with Nightshade. He stopped nuzzling me, and looks at me with his dazzling blood red eyes.
With a puzzled look on my face, I say, "Is something wrong? Was it something I said or did?"
"No, no, no! Not even close, darling. I just wanted to ask you a question," he paused, "Princess Lovestruck, will you do me the honor in being my very special somepony?"
My ears perked up and my wings shot straight up. I looked at him and kissed him. "Yes! Yes! A million times yes!"
Sweetie Belle looked right at us and said with a high-pitched voice, "Awwwh! That's so sweet!"
"Bleh! That's not sweet, that's sappy," Scootaloo stated with disgust. Scootaloo is the most tomboyish filly I know. It's kind of funny on how Scootaloo is trying to be like Rainbow Dash. She's determined to be just like her. A fearless leader. Scootaloo is the leader (if you wanna call it that) of The Cutie Mark Crusaders. The girls are determined to get their cutie marks, doing everything except what they are actually good at. I remember how excited I got when I got my cutie mark. I was much younger than the girls when my Papa left my family. After he left, it was just me, Mama, and my baby brother, Analog Control. It was a difficult time for us. It was hard to stay strong. I stayed strong. I had to. My family needed to be happy. I helped Mama with chores and taking care of Analog. I helped our family get back on our hooves. I spread love, light, and kindness throughout the house and our lives. Before I knew it, I got my cutie mark. My special talent was helping spread love when its needed or not wanted. I was bullied just like the girls, but it wasn't because I had a blank flank, it was because I didn't have a dad. I never gave any of the mean comments any thoughts. It was just words. Bullies when they bully just show their insecurities. Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon are just stuck up fillies. Scootaloo, Applebloom, and Sweetie Belle don't deserve to be bullied by these too girls. They are too sweet to get hurt.
"Thank you again Prin---er, Lovestruck," Scootaloo said giving me a hug.
"You're welcome, little filly."
"Come on girls! Let's go find our cutie marks!"
"Yeah!"
"Cutie Mark Crusaders, Go!" they said in unison, running out of Sugarcube Corner with their red and gold capes on.
"Such enthusiam in those girls," I stated.
"I remember when I was a filly. I didn't have many friends," he got up, "I'm going to fly up and chill on a cloud, wanna join me?"
I spread my wings and walked to the door, "Of course! Let's go!"
We flew up and chilled on a big, white, fluffy cloud. This couldn't have been any better. It was just perfect. The sound of his voice was soothing. His eyes glittered in the warm evening sunlight. We talked and talked. We also cuddled. His wing over my back to keep me close and warm. We both started to fall asleep. The synchronization of our breathing lulled me to sleep. It was peaceful. I never felt so at home. My life was just perfect. It was a cool night, but being right next to Nightshade, kept me warm. The next thing I knew, the sun was shining directly in my eyes. I stood up stretched out my legs, wings, and back. He looked at me with sleepy yet loving eyes.
He cracked a smile, "Good morning, beautiful."
I layed right back down next to him, "Well, good morning to you too," I said while yawning.
"How did my sweet sleep?" he asked as he nuzzled my head.
"Perfect. It was the best sleep I have had in forever. I should probably head home. Spike and Amber are probably looking for me.
"They'll probably have everypony there too." he gives me a wink.
I gave out a small gasp and got up quickly. "Oh, god, I hope not. I need to get home." Nightshade started to laugh. "What?"
He chuckled, "Oh, nothing."
"What?" I said with a bit of frustration in my voice. Little did I know, Rainbow Dash was sneaking up behind me.
"BOO!" Rainbow screeched in my ear. I flew up like really high from being scared half to death by her. Both Rainbow and Nightshade fell on their backs, kicking their legs in the air, cracking up. I flew back down onto the cloud. Rainbow was sitting up with a smirk on her face while Nightshade was trying to stop laughing.
"Rainbow! What the heck?!"
"Sorry Lovestruck. Spike and Amber are looking for you. They said you never came home last night. They freaked out. You're lucky Twilight isn't here. She would have your head."
"Sorry Rainbow. This wasn't planned. It just happened. We were just hanging out and fell asleep. I forgot that Twilight was at the Crystal Empire visiting Shining Armor and Cadance. If I would have remembered that, I would have brought Nightshade over instead. I wasn't using my head."
"I feel so bad for keeping Lovestruck last night. I'm sorry."
"Nightshade, as long as we don't tell Twilight and it doesn't happen again, its all good."
I got up and got ready to take off, "I do have to get home. Spike and Amber need me, but you can come with me if you want."
Both Nightshade and I flew back to my house (or Twilight's) When we walked in, Spike and Amber ran to me, grasping onto my legs and wouldn't let go.
"Okay, guys. You can let go now. I can't really walk with both of you guys on my legs."
"Where were you, Lovestruck? You never came home last night," Amber said as she was crawling onto my back.
"I...ummm...," This was the hardest thing ever, to tell two baby dragons that I slept with Nightshade. I had to pick my words wisely. "I was hanging out with Nightshade and we took a nap. It lasted longer than we wanted," Nailed it! "I'm so, so sorry guys!"
"We were all alone. I only had Spike. Owloisious was annoying. Why did you leave us alone?"
"I didn't mean to, Amber. It was an accident."
"I'm gonna tell Twilight."
"Spike, don't be such a tattle tale," Amber said with a sassy tone.
"Spike, Amber. We won't tell Twilight. She does not need to freak out over my mini mistake."
"Who's this?" Spike said pointing at Nightshade.
"That's Nightshade, Lovestruck's whatever he is."
"Amber, watch it," I said with a stern voice.
"Is he your boyfriend, Lovestruck?"
"Mind your own business, Spike," spat Amber.
"Amber, he's not snooping. It's a reasonable question, and yes Spike, he is."
"I have seen you around Ponyville, following Lovestruck."
Embarrassed, he blushed and quickly said the first thing that came to his mind, "Wait, what?! No, no, no. I don't know what you're talking about. I never stalked her. No, no, no."
Spike looked puzzled, "I never said 'stalked.' I said 'followed.'"
"Now, now Spike. I think you're making Nightshade uncomfortable. Now that we got all of this out of the way, why don't you and Amber go and play upstairs."
As they ran upstairs, I looked at Nightshade and he was still blushing from embarrassment. Then he said with a timid voice that was so quite I could hardly hear it. "I never stalked you."
"I know you didn't. They just put pressure on you. It happens all the time. They ask question after question, and it makes ponies feel uncomfortable. Don't let them intimidate you, they are only babies."
He perked up a bit, "I guess you're right," he smiles.
"I am right. They do that all the time."
"Amber seems a bit sassy."
"She is. Her orange scales and red body suites her name, and her personality suite everything. She's a pain, even as a baby dragon. I can't imagine how she's going to be like when she's a teenage. Oh, my."
He sat there looking at me. His eyes glimmering. He smiles. Just one of his smiles makes my heart smile. I look back at him and smile. He got up and sat right next to me. I immediately blushed. It's funny on how everytime I blush, my cheeks match my mane, red and gold, but my cheeks only turn red.
"You're so cute when you blush."
My cheeks grew warmer and redder, "Oh, stop it you."
"It's true," he kisses me on the cheek.
"Awwwh. Thanks."
"It's the least I can do."
"You know exactly what to say to make me smile."
"Of course. Anything to make my baby happy."
