Following her coronation and absolution into royalty, Princess Twilight Sparkle receives a letter from her former mentor and Sun Goddess, Princess Celestia. This letter, enclosed with very detailed instructions of her task at hand, to track a former student of Princess Celestia, a stallion named Black Luster. He turned rouge after disputes with the goddess over the usage of dark magic. However, the journey reveals to be more difficult than original presented; for the stallion has fled to a magical world across the Crystal Sea known as Equinox. Twilight has little to no information about the lands outside of the Princesses' gaze; though her books tell her that Equinox is the parallel counterpart of Equestria and the ponies that dwell there are not the same as those in Equestria. Can she find Black Luster, or will she fall prey to the dark and veg phantasms that dwell in the new and strange world.
