"Flash, it has come to my attention that you're into my sister." Shining Armor said from behind his desk, not looking up from his paperwork. My jaw fell to the floor. Minutes ago I had been called to his quarters, under the assumption that whatever he wanted me for had to do with the royal guard. Naturally, I couldn’t believe my prickers. How did he know?
I ran a stomper through my fabulous locks, staring at the carpet. “Uh, whatever do you mean, your highness?” I stuttered. His annihilatorUA glowed as he lowered his papers, staring at me with deadly serious scrutinizers. “I mean that you have the hots for my sister. That you’ve been checking her out. That she gives you butterflies. Now, being her big brother, I want the best for Twilight. Not just somepony with a swishy-swasher, somepony with a swishy-studder. Not just somepony with a cutie mark, somepony with a coltie mark.” I hoped his scent catchers couldn’t detect nervousness, because I was dripping it. I glanced at his ever-feared alicorn tosser, imagining the possibilities. A chill ran down my filly porter.
He suddenly stood up, snapping me out of my trance. “I-I’m really sorry, your highness, I, uh…” “And you’re just the stallion.” he said. I stood there, frozen in shock. “I’ve seen your bravery, and I just wanted you to know that I approve. Now come over here.” Slowly, I trotted over to him. “Brohoof?” I gradually raised my hoof and we tapped brohooves. “I’ll be seeing you. Get out of here.” He said with a smile. I walked out the door, closing it behind me. I was overcome by a flurry of emotions, but one question stuck out: What in the hay just happened?
