When you think of serial killer you think of mass murdering lunatic , some pony who only kills because they want other ponies to suffer. Your wrong , serial killers are just plain mad , they view themselves as artists , they want to get caught , so they leave crumbs for ponies to find. Because for them why would you create such a great work of art, such a great feat , without any pony to take credit for it. That's were I come in , I'm the guy who can find those crumbs , I'm the guy who gives them credit for their artworks , and their reward , life in a 5x5 cement block with a few bars in from. I'm Starshine Haste and I'm a criminal investigator.
The date in 10-31-13 , I had just came into the office and I was doing my morning paperwork on a case I had finished the day before. It was a case on a missing filly. We found her all safe and sound. As I was doing my work my supervisor came up to me followed by two stallions
"Starshine!" he said
"These gentlemen are from the federal bureau of investigation . They've come to question you about a case you had a few years ago."
"Alright"
I said as they led me to the interrogation room. After I sat down they started asking me about the case. I took it after a few other investigators said that they think a few murder cases they had are all connected and are preformed by a highly skilled and highly dangerous serial killer. Since I'm the best investigator they thought I should take It , so I did. I worked for day's following every lead , every trail I could find , but every second I wasted trying to pick up his scent another murder could happen. And that's exactly what went down , more bodies kept getting discovered. A few of my friends knew I've been really stressed lately so one night when I got home I found them in my living room , their names are Kiwi shake and Sapphire Amulet , they had a large cake and balloons too! "we decided to throw you a party!" they both screamed simultaneously .
"I made the cake" said Kiwi
"And I decorated" said Sapphire.
Though I already knew that because that's just what they do , Kiwi owns a bakery and Sapphire runs a jewelry shop. I couldn't help but notice that sapphire has been acting quite strange lately , but I shrugged it off. All three of us laughed and ate cake and treats and had fun. That is , until my phone rang , it was my supervisor , he called for me to come into the office because they found some new evidence to help track the killer. Very reluctantly I agreed for it was about midnight , but I still went. I invited Kiwi and Sapphire to stay at my house because I thought I'd only be away for about an hour. Once I got there and looked at thee new evidence it was , how would you put it , familiar it was a hair taken from one of the bodies. It was a long sapphire colored hair. After I sent it to the DNA lab for testing I flew home , I am a Pegasus after all. Once I got home I found that Kiwi and Sapphire were gone and my whole house had been ransacked! And to top it all of whoever did this ate my cake! I didn't know whether or not this had to do with my case or whether this was just a random robbery , but either way it doesn't explain what happened to Kiwi and Sapphire! The normal police started digging through everything to try and find some clues , so I decided to look around , almost immediately I found a note taped to my counter. It read
"That's it Starshine Haste , you've had weeks to find me and I'm tired of waiting so now I have your friends! Come and get them!"
That note proved something to me. This murderer didn't care about just killing ponies , this murderer had a grudge against me for some reason But who? But why? I started thinking of every pony who might have something against me , and when I'm the one who is always putting ponies in jail that list goes on for a very long time.
A week went by and I couldn't find anything , until I got a note , I'm not Shure who its from but it gave me the address to a place I've never heard of before. After looking it up I found out it was an old house right outside of town. So there I was , standing a few yards in front of the strange house. Most of the windows were broken , the whole thing looked like it could fall down any second. I trotted in , very carefully , it was quiet , to quiet. As I walked into the kitchen I found Kiwi..at least part of him , his head was in the sink , all bloody I almost lost my lunch. I decided to move on I was even more careful after that because I realized exactly how sick this stallion was , almost every room I went in had a different part of Kiwi , the living room had a body on the couch almost like it was watching TV. There was a leg in the old rusted toilet. Eventually I went down stairs into the basement , this time instead of finding a peace of Kiwi I found Sapphire , except he was whole , and alive , AND FULL OF BLOOD! The realization of what had happened hit me like a buck to the face. All I could manage to say was
"why?"
He explained that I was the one who put his father in the electric chair , and when he found out he knew he had to kill me. He planned everything , he knew I would take the case , he knew I would leave him and Kiwi alone. While he was explaining I realized that I wouldn't be able to put him in jail , I wouldn't and I couldn't. The one thing he didn't know was that I always keep a small gun under my wing , so I decided to end it right there I pulled it out and took a shot but I wasn't fast enough he saw it coming and I missed. He pulled out a gun and we both dived behind some cover it was a short firefight I ran out of ammo surprisingly fast apparently so did he because he stopped shooting at me. I looked out from the cover and he threw a knife at me! He missed , but just barely I tried to be as fast as I could when I picked up the knife and threw it back. Apparently he didn't see it coming because next thing I knew he was dead. It was finally over. He was dead and no pony would get hurt by him again.
"That's all that happened" I told the two stallions
"Why did you want to know anyway?"
They both said simultaneously
"We didn't."
I heard a noise behind me , I turned to look and when I turned back they were gone. I never understood why or how , but the day after those two stallions questioned me I quit , I turned in my letter of resignation and I never looked back.
