The sound of door being kicked in was not Chrysalis' favorite way to wake up in the morning.  A quick look at the clock proved that it wasn't even two in the morning.  Telling by the groaning sound next to her  Twilight was woken up by the intruding sound also.

"What is it?" Asked the groggy mare, trying to rid her eyes of sleep.

"If you mean the time, it's *yawn* 1:55 in the morning.  As for the noise, I got no clue." said the changeling.  The two decided to leave Spike to investigate and curled back up into the bed sheets.  Sadly, sleep was not going to come.

The two yelped as the bedroom door was kicked open.  A group of close to twenty local guard bursted into the room, well armed and horns glowing with prepared magic.  Chrysalis sat up on the bed with a shocked and horrified expression.  Twilight had a similar expression as she hid behind Chrysalis.

"Changeling Queen Chrysalis, we demand you release your control of resident Twilight Sparkle and come with us quietly." said the leader of the group.  Twilight stepped off the bed and out in front of her mare friend.

"I am not being controlled.  Am I right to guess you have a spell to detect this?" Asked Twilight, knowing the answer.  The whole while she stood in front of Chrysalis.  Chrysalis however, was not liking the situation.  She guessed the guards also knew the spell to sense hidden spells on ponies from changelings.  Sadly, this did not work in their favor.

"Detain the changeling and find a counter for Twilight." said the lead.  Twilight gaped at them.

"What?!  But-"

"Twilight, there actually is an aura around you." said Chrysalis.  Twilight whipped around and stared at her.  "It's an after effect from coming in contact with my saliva."  said the changeling.

"So this is all because you kissed me?"

"More or less." said Chrysalis as shackles were placed on her hooves and a magic suppressor on her horn.

"That's a first date thing, you know.  I like long walks on the beach, my favorite food is love, oh, and it looks like I'm controlling you after we kiss." said Twilight as she was similarly bound.

"Well I wasn't predicting the guard to knock down the door while we are sleeping.  Besides, I thought Celestia was okay with me.  Why is there a good amount of guards in your house then?"

"Local guard.  It's our police system in Equesteia.  They don't report to Celestia right away." said Twilight as the two were guided out of the building. The three cutie mark crusaders were standing outside of the library waiting.  Each one with a proud grin on their muzzles.

"Remind me to have a nice long talk with your sisters when I get out." said Twilight to the three.  "Send Princess Celestia letter saying we were arrested, please." she said, turning to Spike who was dragged out of bed during the invasion.  He saluted and ran off inside.

"Well, now we have a story to tell.  'Our first date was in a small cell in the Ponville Pen.'" said Chrysalis with a smirk.  Twilight rolled her eyes.

"I wonder who helped get us in there." said Twilight as they loaded into the back of the chariot.

"This beautiful and sexy changeling named Chrysalis."  The two broke out in laughter.

"Out of all the ways to spend our first night together, we spend it in a jail cell and we don't even care." said Twilight, shaking her head.  Chrysalis chuckled and nudged the librarian.

"Why would we complain?  We get a cell to ourselves for a few hours so..."  The chariot came to a halt, causing Chrysalis to land on top of Twilight.  "Hey, slow down, now." said the changeling with a smirk.  Twilight blushed and pushed Chrysalis off of her.

"Perv."  Chrysalis smirked and pecked the mare on the muzzle.

"You still love me."

"Of course," She pushed the changeling off of her and rolled to her side. "I just didn't need to get turned on while we are being hauled off."

"Why did we stop, anyways?  I've been in this town long enough to know we aren't that close to the jail." said Chrysalis, rolling onto her stomach.

"That would be because I asked them to stop."  The two ponies jumped and saw Celestia open the chariot door, a small smile on her face.

"Damn you are fast." said Chrysalis, watching as one of the guards that arrested them earlier worked to undo her shackles.  Another was doing the same to Twilight.  Chrysalis sighed happily as the shackles were dropped onto the floor of the chariot and the magic suppressor removed from her horn.

"Yes, well, it wouldn't be fair of me to let you be wrongly accused while in your current predicament." said Celestia, moving aside to let them walk out onto the street once more.  Chrysalis saw that multiple lights were beginning to switch on and decided it prime time to switch to True Hearts.

"A bit ironic, considering you are a changeling and you work at an Orphange." commented Celestia, looking over the guise.  True Hearts shrugged.

"It works, as long as Scootaloo keeps her mouth shut and doesn't tell the others that the head is a changeling.  I would be thrown out before I know it." said Chrysalis with a shrug.

"Well, I could always get an extra assistant at the library." said Twilight, smirking.  Chrysalis waggled her brows.

"What kind of assistant?" Asked Chrysalis.  Twilight leaned forward to kiss her until a cough brought her back to reality, causing her to blush.

"I'm guessing you made your move, Chrysalis?" Asked Celestia, turning to the blushing changeling.  Chrysalis shook her head.

"Um, no, actually.  It was the other way around." said Chrysalis, her blush deepening.  Celestia chuckled.

"I'm actually quite surprised.  Twilight was never the one to go seeking relationship." said Celestia.  Now it was Twilight's turn to blush and turn away.  As her mirth went down, Celestia grew serious.

"Chrysalis, you are still hated by many.  I will try and keep the local guard off of your back, but I suggest you take precautions to keep yourself safe and hidden." said the solar goddess.  Chrysalis nodded and looked back up the road to where the library is.  Four silhouettes rushed towards them, no doubt the Cutie Mark Crusaders and Spike.  She sighed and shook her head.

"I have a feeling those three are going to be a pain in the ass." Muttered Chrysalis.  Twilight nodded.

"At least you made friends with their sisters, well, two of them at least." said the librarian.

"Do you know if Dash is still stopping by tomorrow?  I have the paperwork set up." said Chrysalis, talking in a hushed voice as the three fillies neared them.

"She is.  She probably won't be on time but she'll be there.  And it's today, not tomorrow.  Remember, it's two in the morning." replied Twilight.  By now, the three fillies reached them, two of them bowing to Celestia while Scootaloo glared at Chrysalis.

"So I was right!  You are a changeling!" Shouted Scoots.  Chrysalis cursed and looked around to make sure no pony heard that.

"Hush, child.  I do not need to be fired." hissed Chrysalis, keeping her voice low.

"Why not?  You're a changeling!  And that's probably not even the Princess!" said Scoots, pointing at Celestia.  The goddess laughed.

"I assure you, young Scootaloo, I am Celestia.  As for Chrysalis, she means no ill will, I made sure of this earlier today myself.  She is simply living a quiet life and rebuilding her extinct race." said the princess.

"She told them a bit too much, don't you think?  I don't think they needed to know I'm the last changeling." said Chrysalis, whispering into her lovers ear.  Twilight shrugged.

"Can't really say too much.  She knows what she is doing.  She has been alive longer than us, she has more expirence." said Twilight.  Chrysalis bit her lip at that.  In all actuality, her and Celestia aren't too far apart in age.  Chrysalis was born a few years before the banishment of Nightmare Moon.  It was only five hundred years since her mothers death and her rise to the throne, and her most stupid mistake ever.

"Only by a little bit." admitted Chrysalis.  Twilight rolled her eyes.

"Still don't care that you're immortal.  It just means I like older mares." replied Twilight, smirking at the changeling queen.  Chrysalis blushed, which is starting to be a common occurrence now, and turned her head back to Celestia, who was now explaining how she was actually Princess Celestia and not some Changeling.  The three filly's around her stared in awe as she recounted the Gryphon War.

"Alright, Tia.  I think that's enough of a history lesson.  You are Celestia, we get it." said Chrysalis, chuckling.  She turned to the three fillies.  "Now, I think you three need to head on home.  Scootaloo, I expect you in my office tomorrow morning."

"Yes, Miss True." said Scootaloo, her ears splaying back.  Chrysalis smiled and leaned forward so she was level with the filly.

"You're not in trouble, it's okay.  I just need to talk with you about a few things, and give you a present." said the changeling.  She stood and looked down at them.  "And you can call me Chrysalis when in private, alright?"  They nodded before running off.  Chrysalis sighed.

"I am going to enjoy the remaining hours of sleep until I have to wake up for work."  Twilight laughed.

"And I'm going to enjoy our first date tomorrow." said Twilight, kissing her on the cheek.  Chrysalis turned a bright shade of crimson and smiled slightly.  Celestia giggled at the sight.  It truly was heartwarming to see her usually shut in student open up and accept someone as Chrysalis who has had such a rough life.

"I think it is wise for all of us to turn after an eventful morning.  I will see you two again sometime soon." said Celestia.  She turned around and leaped into the air, propelling herself forward with a powerful down thrust.  The couple watched as the solar goddess flew off into the night.

"I suppose we can't go back to snuggling in bed can we?" Asked Twilight.  Chrysalis shook her head.

"Nope.  I have work in the morning to prepare for Scoots and we are pretty much right in front of the Orphanage." said the changeling with a sigh.  Twilight pouted.

"That's no fair.  Just as soon as I got used to sleepy next to you." said the lavender unicorn.

"Stop it!  I swear that face is militarized." said Chrysalis, putting a hoof over her face to block off the military grade pout that Twilight was aiming at her.  The lavender mare pouted harder before sighing and giving up.

"Fine, but you better make tonight worth it." said the unicorn.  Chrysalis rolled her eyes and pecked the mare on the nose.

"I will.  Now, head home and get some sleep.  We got one hell of a day ahead."

~~~~~~~~~
Chrysalis yawned as her alarm clock went off.  She swatted at the evil device that interrupted her sleep with a hoof, managing to send it across the room.  She smiled as she heard it break against the far wall of her room.  At least she would get a few more ho-
"Good morning Miss True!"  Chrysalis groaned and sat up to snap at them.  As she sat up, a lock of jade hair fell into her eyes and the sight of three foals staring at her greeted her.  She looked down to see that her disguise fell and she was once again in her true form.  Taking a deep breath as to not freak herself or the foals out, she spoke.
"Alright, I'm going to ask you politely not to scream so I can explain this, alright?" Asked Chrysalis softly.  Three heads nodded slowly, not looking away from her.
"My name is Chrysalis, former queen of the changelings.  I am the last one of my kind.  I'm in Ponyville to feed myself and restart my race.  I am working here just so I have somewhere to live.  I mean absolutely no harm.  But, I need you to keep this between yourselves and no pony else, alright?"  They nodded again.  Chrysalis sighed and smiled at them.  Transforming back into True Hearts, she got out of the bed and made her way towards the bathroom.
"Miss Chrysalis, whatever happened to the real Miss True?" Asked a small blue colt.  Chrysalis smiled softly.
"She never existed until I made her exist.  I created her when I needed a disguise to come into town and that's how she was born.  Either than that, she does not exist." said the changeling.  The three foals smiled, obviously finding her entertaining.  She smiled as well.  It was better than them screaming bloody murder and running away in the opposite direction.
"You can create your own pony?  Cool!  How many have you created?" Asked a purple filly, a few shades darker than Twilight.  This one was a unicorn as well.
"I have lost count after my hundredth birthday." replies Chrysalis, brushing out her hair a decent amount before she was to climb into the shower.  She could see the foals staring at her in awe in the mirror.
"You're over a hundred years old?!  How old are you?" Asked the purple filly.
"I am around one thousand and five years old." said the changeling queen.  The foals stood in awe, causing her to smirk.  "Now, I have to take a shower and you need to get ready for breakfast.  Remember, don't tell anypony.  Oh, and tell Scootaloo she needs to see me in my office after breakfast if you see her."
"Yes, Miss True!" Said the three in unison before skipping out the door.  Chrysalis chuckled.  Foals were always a delight to have around, and she had an entire three story building full of them.
After taking a quick shower and brushing out her mane into its usual pony tail that True Hearts was known for having it in, Chrysalis made her way down the stairs.  Not even half way down and she could hear the laughter of foals and smell the beautiful breakfast that one of the employees at the orphanage cooked up.  She may feed on love, but she still needs actual food.
"Good morning, madam True."  Chrysalis turned to see a yellow earth pony with a dark green mane smiling at her.
"Good morning, err, sorry.  Still trying to remember everyone's name." said Chrysalis with a sheepish smile as she drew a blank on the mare's name.  The mare chuckled.
"That's alright, Madam True.  Everypony just calls me Miss Chef.  A bit masculine but I got used to it." said the mare.
"I doubt you were named Chef." said True.  Chef shook her head.
"Nope.  According to the doctors I suffer from amnesia so I don't remember much about myself outside of the last year.  Chef is what they called me when I became part of the cooking staff here." said Chef.  True chuckled.
"Well, good morning to you too, Chef.  And breakfast smells wonderful.  I would eat but I have lunch later today and I have an appointment with Rainbow Dash here soon." said True.
"Ah yes. Well, I wish you luck, Madam True.  And try to eat something, you here?" Said chef.  True chuckled and nodded.
"Of course."  True made her way through the play room and into her office, closing the door behind her.  Chrysalis took the moment of freedom to drop her disguise and lean back into her chair.  She could just tell it was going to be one of those days.
"Yo, true, ya in there?" Called out a raspy female voice.  Chrysalis sighed and turned back into True, even if she was going to change back as soon as the door closed again.
"Yes, Rainbow Dash.  Please come in." said True, putting on a weak smile.  The cyan mare walked into the room, closing the door behind her.  Once it was closed, Chrysalis let out a breath and dropped her disguise.
"Rough morning?" Asked Dash, sitting across from her at the table.  Chrysalis weakly nodded.
"Like you wouldn't believe.  I had to explain to a group of foals that I meant no harm because they barged into my room while I was sleeping out of guise." said Chrysalis, rubbing her temples.
"So, dodged the bullet and made it through the morning?  Seems like a decent start."  Chrysalis chuckled.
"Not really, I have to survive my date with Twilight first, then I'm in the clear." said Chrysalis.
"You asked Twi out?" Asked the mare, raising an eyebrow.  Chrysalis shook her head.
"Nope.  She asked me out.  Saved me the stress and freaking out before hand." said the changeling with a grin.
"Nice.  Any plans?"
"Dinner, maybe a walk around town.  Nothing too special."
"That's soo boring." complained Dash.  Chrysalis smirked.
"Then we will venture upstairs after kicking Spike into the guest room..."
"Okay, I do not need to hear how you plan on getting laid tonight." said Dash, causing the changeling to break out in laughter.
"I'm just messing with you.  Though I might stay the night.  I'm just hoping it doesn't go bust."  There was a knocking at the door, causing Chrysalis to switch to True in a quick flash.
"Come in." called out True, handing Dash a sheet of paper and a quill as she did so.  The door opened to reveal an orange filly that was known to be Scootaloo.  Again, Chrysalis dropped her guise once the door was shut.
"Good morning, Chrysalis, sup, Rainbow Dash?" Said Scootaloo as she entered.  Rainbow Dash grunted her reply as she finished signing off her name.  She nosed the paper over to Chrysalis and spat out the quill.  Chrysalis took out another quill and finished filling it out.
"Sup, squirt?  What ya up to now a days?  Getting good grades?" Asked Dash.  Chrysalis smirked.  This was going to work out perfectly.
"Um, yeah, I guess.  Why do you want to know?" Asked the filly.
"Because she is now legally your mother." said Chrysalis, finishing off True Heart's signature with a flourish of the quill.  She levitated the finished to the filly so she could read it.
"Y-You mean she adopted me?" Asked Scootaloo, her eyes growing big.
"Yup.  Got enough income to take care of you and in some way it's to make sure she doesn't make you into a feeding sack." said Dash, pointing a hoof at Chrysalis.  Chrysalis stuck her tongue out at the mare.
"That's what I have Twilight for.  I love foals too much to harm them." said Chrysalis, crossing her forelegs.
"That's what you say now.  Anyways, how does Scootaloo know you are a changeling?"  Asked Dash.  Scootaloo's excitement quickly vanished.
"Care to explain this one, Scootaloo?" Asked Chrysalis, eyeing the filly.  Scootaloo averted her eyes to the floor.
"Me and the girls broke into the library to find Miss True and found Chrysalis instead.  We got the two of them arrested." said the filly, refusing to look at her older sister now mother.
"Spike contacted Celestia who freed us before me and Twilight got to the jail." finished Chrysalis.  Rainbow Dash blinked a few times.
"Well, that's different.  You explained it to her I'm guessing?" Asked Dash.  Chrysalis nodded.
"I did.  Now Scootaloo, you have to understand we have to wait until I have at least gone through my second trimester of pregnancy with the next changeling to make my presence and purposes public so you have to keep this a secret." said Chrysalis, leaning forward to get a good look at the filly.
"Why, what might happen?"  Asked the filly.
"Changeling's and mothers in general are extremely protective of their foals if they love them enough.  My child will be lucky enough to have two very powerful mothers protecting her.  However, ponies will still try to stop my from giving birth and from living.  I cannot let the changelings die." said Chrysalis.  Scoots nodded.  Chrysalis sighed and looked up at the clock.
"Alright, go pack your things.  I have stuff I need to do before my date later."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It was seven o'clock when Chrysalis arrived at the Golden Oaks Library as True Hearts, her mane done in a bun after being washed thoroughly.  She took the time to quickly set a reservation, set a course for a beautiful night walk, and get washed up.  She didn't, however, have the time to get a dress from Rarity, causing her to go as she was.  Taking a deep breath, she knocked thrice on the purple library door.

"Coming~" sang a voice on the otherside of the door.  She knew it very well to be her marefriend, obviously excited for their first date.  And in all honesty, so was she.  It was just her nerves were acting up as well.  In all of her years alive there was never a reason to mate or find a other.  In all senses of the word, this was her first ever date just like it was her first kiss last night.  This was an all new experience and she was nervous as hell.

"Alright, calm down, Chryssie, it's just a date.  Do not need to hyperventilate over a date, right?  You got it all planned out." mumbled Chrysalis, wondering why the hell her marefriend was taking so long.  There was the sound of hooves approaching the door, making Chrysalis to freeze.  What she saw stole her breath.

Twilight Sparkle stood on the otherside of the entry way, staring at her.  She had her tail combed out and tied off at the end while her mane was done up in a bun, a few strands making their way over her eyes.  It wasn't much and a lot of mares would have argued that she needed more makeup, or makeup in general, but for Chrysalis, the simplistic beauty of the mare was more than enough.

"Wow." Was the only word to escape her lips.  Twilight giggled and scuffed the floor with a hoof, looking at her shyly.

"I can say the same for you, too." said the mare, blushing.  Chrysalis blushed as well, giggling slightly.  They stood there in silence, starring into the others eyes, waiting for the other to make the next move.  It was Spike, however, that made the move.

"Are you going to stand there or go on your date?  You're letting the cold air in." said the dragon, crossing his arms at the pair.  The ponies blushed again before nodding, Chrysalis taking the lead as they left.

"So, what do you got planned for tonight?" Asked Twilight, smiling over at her marefriend.

"Nothing too overboard.  Just a nice dinner and a walk around town.  A good enough first date, right?" Asked Chrysalis, slightly anxious.  Twilight giggled and pecked her nose.

"I'm sure it'll be fine."  Chrysalis' eyes rolled back in her head slightly at the flux of love from the lavender mare.

"I should probably skip dinner, your filling me up enough." said the changeling, puffing out her cheeks.  Twilight chuckled.

"I'm sure you can handle one course.  Just don't buy anything too big, I don't want you throwing up on our first date." commented the mare as they walked into the Main Street of Ponyville.

"Well, here we are." said Chrysalis as they stopped at a mildly fancy restaurant.  She didn't go overboard, but she didn't want to go somewhere decent enough for a first date.  And this was good enough for both of them.

"Well, um, we should probably go in." said Chrysalis, scuffing the ground.  Twilight chuckled and walked forward, making Chrysalis try and catch up to her.

"You are insanely nervous, aren't you?" Asked Twilight, looking back at Chrysalis.

"Yeah, I'm surprised you aren't though."

"That's because I knew what I was going into had a chance not to work out.  Plus, I wasn't preparing."  Chrysalis huffed.

"Of course."  Twilight chuckled and kissed her cheek.  Chrysalis blushed and walked ahead as they reached the front.

"You have a reservation or do you need to find a seat?" Asked the mare behind the podium.

"True Hearts and Twilight Sparkle." said Chrysalis.  The mare looked over the clipboard she had levitating in front of her then grabbed two menus.

"Alright, if you two would follow me I will bring you to your table." said the mare with a smile, guiding them through the restaurant.  Multiple ponies sat at the many booths in the building, some at the bar.  They laughed and talked as they at their meals.  It was one of the better sit down restaurants in the small town.

"Here we are.  Do you want anything to drink this evening?" Asked the mare as the couple took their seats across from the other in the back.

"Applejack Daniels, please." said Chrysalis.  The waitress gave an impressed whistle.

"Well damn, we got a heavy drinker here.  And you, Miss Sparkle?"  Twilight looked over the back menu looking over the various drinks that the restaurant served.

"Just a Guinness, please." said Twilight.  The mare nodded and recorded the order.

"Alright, I will be back with your drinks shortly.  Feel free to browse the menu so you are ready when I return."  With that the mare was off.  Twilight turned to Chrysalis.

"Whiskey?  When did you become a heavy drinker?"

"Meh, just like the taste.  And I seem to be one of the few in this place that can even stand it.  I don't see even one drop of whiskey anywhere." said Chrysalis, eyeing a few of the other patron's drinks.  She scoffed and leaned back in her seat.  "Lightweights."

"Thankfully you're not dating one." said Twilight, leaning back in her own seat.  Chrysalis raised an eyebrow.

"Oh?  Miss Celestia's student have some crazy college years?" Asked Chrysalis with a smirk.  Twilight blushed and directed her attention to the window next to their table.

"Truthfully, yes.  I may have had my fair share of bottles of whiskey and other hard alcohol."  Chrysalis laughed.

"Oh damn, I wish I could have been there!" Said Chrysalis, laughing.  Twilight huffed and crossed her forelegs.

"Oh shut up, I bet you have embarrassing alcohol related moments as well." said Twilight, refusing to look at the laughing mare.  Chrysalis calmed down a bit before speaking.

"Don't worry.  I've had my fair share.  I think one time a stallion thought he was about to get lucky because I was so drunk.  Sadly, I ended up vomiting on him and slept like a foal the entire night." said Chrysalis, trying not to break out into full hysterics again.  Twilight, however, blinked at her.

"Well, you got the cake for most embarrassing drunken moments.  Let me see if I have an award." said Twilight, smirking slightly.  Chrysalis stuck her tongue out at her.

"Alright, tell me your most embarrassing moment."  Twilight tapped her chin in thought.

"I tried to have a three some with Celestia and Cadence on my twenty-first."  Chrysalis choked on air.

"You did?!" She exclaimed,  staring at her marefriend in shock.  Twilight blushed.

"Celestia refused since she knew I was drunk of my flank.  However, Cadence was different..."

"Cadence was your first?" Asked Chrysalis, blinking in surprise.  Twilight nodded.

"I actually kicked her off the bed and proceeded to throw up on the floor.  Hangovers are horrible."

"I'll agree with that." said the waitress as she returned.  A tall glass of dark amber liquid next to a even darker liquid in a beer bottle floated onto the table.  "Now, what can I get you two this evening?"  Chrysalis took that moment to give the menu a quick look over before answering.

"Well, um, I'll have the mushroom veggie burger.  Swiss cheese please."  The waitress either ignored or didn't hear the snicker come from Twilight.  Chrysalis, however, glared at her.  The waitress finished off the order and looked over at Twilight.

"And what can I get you ma'am?"  Twilight tapped her chin as she checked the menu.  She shrugged and set it down.

"I'll just have the same."

"Swiss or cheddar?"

"Swiss."

"Alright.  I will be back with your meals soon." said the mare, collecting the menus and walking away.  The night went along quite nicely after that.  Chrysalis told Twilight about the modern changeling hive and how it functioned.  In all senses, changelings were almost just like ponies, despite their looks and dietary habits.

Their meals were constantly forgotten in their conversations, only to be reminded of them when they looked down and took a bite or two only to be destructed by another tale.

A number of these tales were of how Twilight progressed through Celestia's school at a shocking rate and was in college at fifteen.  She graduated with high honors and a doctors in magic at twenty.  She would go on to study under Celestia more often for the next three years until she was sent to Ponyville.  The rest wasn't hard to decipher.

Then there was Chrysalis.  Diane Metamorph Chrysalis.  The heir to the changeling throne.  She was raised by her mother for the better part a half a century before taking up the throne in which she made the decision to feed off of love.  Which, of course, crippled the changeling race.

Her advisors constantly bugged her to find a mate and would find stallions to court her.  Three times in those years she was shunned by her advisors after telling them that she was gay.  They were of old belief and believed that changelings should only be with another mare if it was part of a mission.  The only changeling to accept her sexuality was her mother, who supported her until the day she died.  Twilight was the first mare, of any race, to accept and love the changeling queen.  While Chrysalis has live for over a century, she has never been truly loved.  That is, until Twilight.

"I think it is best we pay the bill and head home." said Chrysalis after she finished her story, eyeing the clock.  Twilight followed her gaze to find it to be nine at night.

"That late?  Do you think we can still get that walk in?"  Asked Twilight, batting her eyelashes.  Chrysalis chuckled and shook her head.

"Nope.  I don't trust towns this late.  Plus, we both had a few to drink.  We will head to the library and share a few by the fireplace.  That sound nice?"  Twilight thought for a moment then nodded, smiling.

"That would be wonderful."  The couple payed off their bill and set off back towards the library, chatting and laughing the whole way.

"And then she bucked Rainbow off of her with the hugest blush I've ever seen!  It was only a week later that Rainbow and AJ were dating." said Twilight, laughing as they entered the library.  Once the door closed, the still laughing Chrysalis dropped her disguise.

"Oh Celestia, that's rich.  Why is it when all the good stuff happens I'm not around.  I would have loved watching you try to get your way with the princesses." said the changeling queen.  Twilight rolled her eyes.

"Let's just grab the whiskey and head to the fireplace."  Chrysalis nodded and went into the kitchen.  Twilight sighed and went through the backdrop that led into the living area.  However, she was not expecting to see the two ponies waiting for her when she opened the door.

"Twiely!" Shouted Shining Armour, the white unicorn stallion throwing an embrace around his younger sister.  Cadence came over to join the hug with the shocked, and increasingly horrified, unicorn mare.

"Sh-Shining?  C-Cadence?  W-what are you doing here?" She asked, hoping to high heavens Chrysalis got lost looking for where her whiskey was hidden.

"We heard Celestia say you found a special somepony so we decided to come and see how the lucky stallion was." said Cadence.  Shining nodded.

"You were already gone when we came.  Spike didn't want us to stay for some reason, though.  Little guy must think I was going to go a little to rough on the stallion with my 'dating talk'" said the stallion with a chuckle.  Oh, he was going to go rough, Twilight knew this for certain.

"Hey Twilight, I couldn't find tall glasses so I grabbed...some...mugs....well shit."  Shining Armour and Cadence stared at the changeling as she entered, a bottle of Applejack Daniels and two mugs in her green aura.  Chrysalis set down the items on the table and glanced behind her.  She could try to run, but she had a royal guard and princess against her.  Not the best odds.

"And just when the night was going so well." muttered Chrysalis.  Shining Armour lit his dagger of a alabaster horn and growled at her, lowering it to aim directly at her face.  Chrysalis gulped.

"What in blazing Tartarus are you doing here?!" Shouted the stallion.  Cadence grabbed Twilight in her aura and hid her away from the changeling behind a wing.  This did not help Chrysalis' slowly shrinking mental state.

"I, um, uh, gah...." Chrysalis' mind refused to work.  In all of the situations she had been in, she had been running off hunger and desperation.  Now, however, she was full and satisfied with her current living.  All her bravery and cocky behavior was all gone.  Nothing was left but a very scared changeling whose strength came in the form of a lavender unicorn who was being kept from her.  She was terrified.

"Answer me!" Shouted Shining.  Chrysalis yelped and started to cry as she slowly crawled away from the towering menace of a stallion.  Twilight, just barely seeing over Cadence's wing, saw this and was horrified.  Stealing herself, Twilight teleported herself next to the changeling and wrapped her forelegs around the changeling who immediately sank into the embrace in a fit of tears of terror.

"Twilight?  What are you doing?!  Get away from that monster!" Shouted Shining.  Twilight whipped around and glared at her brother, her own tears gliding down her cheeks.

"Monster?  Monsters fear bigger monsters, Shining, and she is bawling her eyes out.  She hasn't even done a single thing wrong since she arrived A WEEK ago.  She has been here a week and nothing bad has happened." said Twilight, clutching onto the crying mess.

"Twilight, she obviously has you brainwashed.  Just ste-"

"I do not have her brainwashed you fucking asshole!" Shouted Chrysalis, tears pouring down her cheeks.  "I would never do that to her!  I love her too much to even think of using any magic on her!  Why do you always have to think I want to hurt and cause pain when all I want is my own love?" Asked Chrysalis, sobbing softly.  Shining, Cadence, even Twilight, stared at her in shock.

"I told this to Twilight, I told this to Spike, I told this to the Elements, I told this to Celestia, and now I will tell it to you.  I am the last changeling.  I made the biggest mistake in the history of my race and my people starved because of it.  I attacked out of pure desperation and stupidity.  Now I am rebuilding, and I fell in love with Twilight along the way.  So kill me and kill the race if you must, but my feelings and reasons stay absolute!"  The ponies in the room stared at her in shock, watching the crying changeling silently sob as she glared at them.  Twilight felt herself become even further attracted to this mare.  Each moment she proved herself to be completely different from the Chrysalis everyone saw that day at the invasion.

"You are stupid, yet brave.  You know that?" Asked Twilight softly, leaning her head on her marefriend's shoulder.  Chrysalis gave a dry chuckle.

"Luck has never really been on my side.  Thankfully, it's been helpful the last week." said the mare with a slight laugh.  Shining Armour sighed and placed a hoof on the bridge on his nose.

"This is going to be a long night."
