I awoke leaned against a large tree. It was morning as the sunlight shown upon my chest, warming me up each second I sat in its vision. I looked around; I had absolutely no idea as to where I was, or how I got there. As I looked left, I saw the depths of a deep and dark forest. The forest looked as if it could have been a jungle. Vines and thicket were hanging down as if reaching out to the ones who tread the path trying to pull them into the green and blue colors that ravaged the tree canopies above. I turned to my left and sighed with relief. A small moss-covered cabin stood there with a warm inviting air surrounding it. I looked around before I got up, stretching the legs that have been crumbled near my body all night to keep warm in the coldness of the night. I stepped slowly toward the cabin, leaves crunching below my feet with every step. I looked down and smiled. The autumn leaves blew against my shins as I head for the small cabin, brushing against my legs as if leading me toward the cabin. I stopped at the door hesitating for a bit. It seemed like a good place, and it was the closest one. I knocked the door gently as I heard a gentle and faint voice inside.
“Who is it?”
It asked as the noise of water being poured stopped suddenly. I heard loud footsteps toward the door that stood in front of me. The door opened as I, and the yellow form before me gasped. I fell backwards onto the ground landing with a thud.
“Wh-Who are you?”
The same gentle voice from before asked as the yellow Pegasus approached me.
“I- I’m Chris!”
I said backing away slightly from the talking Pegasus. I was confused, beyond any amount of confusion I have ever felt.
“Where am I?”
I asked looking back to the forest of blue and green. I looked further to the right on looking a town. I gasped as I saw its residents. All of them were ponies. Some with horns, some with wings, and some with none. I looked back and forth examining the ponies with awe.
“You’re in- um, Ponyville.”
The Pegasus said smiling warmly to me. I looked back to her and forced a smile back.
“Nice to meet you… uh,”
“Fluttershy.” She interrupted smiling.
“Yeah, Fluttershy.”
I said looking at the cottage inside. Just then, my stomach decided to give off a large growl.
“Oh, are you hungry Chris?”
Fluttershy asked helping me back up onto my feet. I looked around once more, scratching my head looking back at the town full of ponies.
“Oh, yes!”
I said with a hearty grin on my face. I pointed to the inside of her cottage asking if I was allowed inside. Fluttershy nodded noting that I could go in to the warm cottage that awaited my arrival. The cottage was painted yellow and smelt strongly of animals. I looked up to see a pathway of animal homes all linked up to each other. I smiled as I saw some squirrels peeking their heads out to see the new comer in their presence.
“I just made some soup!”
Fluttershy said giving me a bowl. I smiled as I blew on the soup. I could see it was all made from grown vegetables; I couldn’t picture a pony eating meat. I brought the bowl up to my lips sipping the hot broth carefully, trying to not make a slurping noise. The soup was good; I smiled with relief as the onions, carrots, and potatoes fell into my mouth, Fluttershy smiled warmly to me as I ate. I lowered the bowl looking back to the animal homes.
“So, what do you do for a living Fluttershy?”
I asked trying to start a conversation with her. She smiled and looked up to the animal homes.
“I care for animals!”
She said as she picked a carrot from the soup dish, and planted it outside of a small house. Sure enough, a small bunny came out and snatched the carrot. Fluttershy giggled.
“Are the other ponies here nice as you are?”
I asked smiling back to the yellow Pegasus. She looked up to me and smiled.
“Of course they are! I’ve never seen a mean pony here before, well, except for Trixie, but she’s gone now.”
She said sharing the town’s stories to me. I listened closely; I would need this information if I were to go anywhere. I stopped her right when books were mentioned.
“You have a library here in Ponyville?” I asked hopefully. I loved reading, it was one of the things I could do best. I would usually, when bored, pick up a book, curl up, and read.
“Why yes! And my friend Twilight owns it!”
She said pulling me to the door. She flung it open and walked beside me motioning for me to head for the town. I didn’t hesitate. I started walking to the town ignoring the fact that ponies populated it. I walked among the streets staying close to Fluttershy. I looked at all the small building and immediately smiled. The cheerful airs of this place made me feel, belonging… Like this was my home.
“What in the world is that?”
I heard slightly offended knowing that it was talking about me. I looked back to where Fluttershy was, and stopped dead. She wasn’t there. I suddenly remembered stopping to look into a window of a cupcake store. I hurriedly looked for a place to hide.
“Get it away from me!”
I heard another one shout. By this time I was running. I felt alone. I felt as if I was a wild animal invading someone’s home. Which was exactly what I was. I looked around spotting a small spot. I dove into it also feeling a large collision of fur in my way.
“What in the world did you do that for! Oh, I’ll show you!”
A voice said in a raspy tone. I opened my mouth to apologize, but a large object smacking into my stomach quickly cut it off.
“Gah!”
I managed to say as my body curved toward the impact. I fell back onto the ground as a second blow was delivered, this one aimed for my chest.
“Take that you stupid animal!”
A cyan blur said. I raised a hand to defend myself, but a last blow was delivered straight to my face. I fell to the ground, blood leaving the wounds and bruises. I remained there for a moment before the same pony pulled me off the ground.
“Oh, come on, can’t you fight back?”
“P-please…”
I finally said as tears flowed from my face. The cyan form just laughed.
“You shouldn’t have hit me in the first place!”
She said raising her hoof for a last blow. Suddenly, a yellow blur tackled the cyan blur just as the last strike hit home. I fell into the depths of unconsciousness and confusion.
