Chapters Prologue: Proper Introductions
It wasn't like I had a choice in the matter of being a savior or even a hero. I never thought of myself as one.
The whole idea of needing to make a choice was the easy part. I don't see myself as important.
Granted there are many who think I am, but in all realism I'm guilty of hating at any given time. Not every second of the day but I resent them for who they are sometimes...
It wasn't something that I wanted to recognize about myself, but the situation demanded me to see if I was someone who was suppose to be a part of their lives.
I wasn't even meant for this world. Misery lead me here, and Misery kept me here. She will forever stay within the deepest parts of my mind. Not because I wanted it, but because I chose to take her in. She lost me once and she found another way to have a grasp on me. I wonder what it would had been like if her plans worked the first time. Would I had been as miserable then, than now? Or was it because I was ripped from everything I knew which made it that much easier for her to make the deal? Why was I lead to believe that the choice was mine to make, when she knew that I wouldn't do anything different?
But after being put in that situation. After seeing who I really am. What I really am. I can't help but think 'Why me? What was the point of me?'.
You're lost. I'm sorry about that; I haven't really had time to work these thoughts out. It's going to be a little muddy here and there, And I know you're going to be lost at certain points. All I ask is for you to be open to the ideas or rather concepts and terms I will be using. To begin with I don't really have a name. I was given quite a few during my travels round Equestria, but I prefer being called Frosted Harvest; Harvey for short. It's the one that feels right. I don't know who I was before, but all I do know was that when she decided to rip me from my reality, I was them, and they were me... Like I said muddy. I digress...
I can let you know these few things about me before I start. I'm a Story Teller by trade. I had a family, my parents are gone, and I have or had a brother, I don't even know if he is with my parents or not... I travel around, I don't have a real home to go back to. I'm a unicorn but I have no idea on how to use magic, I was never given the chance to learn. Lastly I don't have a Cutie Mark, I know it strange, but I'm not concerned, granted I should have gotten mine when I was a foal, but it wasn't the case. Thinking about it now it was kind of obvious on why-
there I go again digressing. Now then. Where to begin.
Author's Note
I thought it would be good to at least give you an idea on how I write, and give you a general idea on who Harvey is.
This is my first FF in general, I'm not asking for you to go easy on me, I prefer critiques, they help me grow. Either way hope your interested enough to stay tuned.
-Blues.
The sounds of instruments could be heard playing in the distance, a happy melody for a wedding if I recall correctly. It was a couple of days after our small town finished harvest before winter. We lived near the outskirts of VanHoover, towards the Crystal Mountains, it was named Snow Flank. We rarely had any visitors, but it really didn't matter as our lives were tied to surviving the cold and the wildlife that understood the laws of survival better than us. There were some days that seemed like the wildlife understood us, but as long as we didn't bother each other we had an understanding. Under our care, we survived with planting crops that could stand the harsh environment that we lived in, that in itself required the whole towns diligent care to ensure that we could live through the long winters. We didn't have much, nor did we have time to do things that we wanted. Most of the time there was no time for celebrations, but this year there was a wedding that was to be held tonight. I pulled a long shift last night for the newlyweds. The nights were getting longer and I didn't want the festivities to start any later than necessary. There was still more to be done but I've somehow managed to do enough work in one night that would had taken two days, I was weary but I felt proud that I was able to ensure that there was a wedding that day. The couple expressed their gratitude and I told them that this was my gift to them, and I also asked for their forgiveness that I couldn't attend the wedding and the party afterwards. They understood, and made sure that I was going to get enough rest so I wouldn't get sick from the cold night I've spent working in. I nodded and made my way home, I never really enjoyed parties to be honest, but the town needed it more than anything. A small something to remind them that life isn't too bad.
The sky was turning a nice gold as they lit the bonfire, there was faint laughter, and everyone sounded like they were happy. I made it home without much effort, I let out a long sigh as I stretched in my bed. Turning on my back, I could feel my spine give small pops of relief that made me look towards the closet window. As I stared out the window waiting for the gentle touch of slumber to take my mind away. I felt a small chill creep across my face. I paid it no mind, the window was cracked open and I knew that my family would be coming home to check up on me soon. They went to congratulate the newlyweds. Even now I could hear the distinct laugh my brother makes when he was chatting up that filly that he fancied. I remember that I gave him advice while we were placing our tools away, I told him to ask her out after the wedding.
"Weddings have a strange magic to them, fillies get caught up during the vows, and colts get caught up in their beauty." I said this as my brother Swift Chord was locking up the door with his magic. He was a brown unicorn with a black mane, and even though we were two years apart, we looked like twins. The only real difference was that he had some white spots on his flank and his Cutie Mark was in the shape of a eighth note. He had a knack for any string instrument, with a voice to match.
"Well what if she is expecting some other Colt to ask her out?" He spoke in a soft hush. I couldn't help but smirk at his attempt to avoid any stray ear listening.
"Has she been looking at some pony else?" I spoke in a softer tone as we walked down the path to our home.
"Well, no, sometimes I think I catch her looking at me when I'm working, but you know how I get when I'm focused." He kicked a rock off the trail as he let out a frustrated sigh. I couldn't help but laugh softly at his frustration. I will always find it ironic that every pony thinks he is the older brother because he got his cutie mark first. He gave me a small glare and I rolled my eyes before answering.
"Yes, I do. You hum to yourself while you work, and might I add that she isn't the only filly, or mare who stares when you hum that lullaby." I tried to mimic the face of a swooning mare that I saw earlier today. "They look like their hearts were about to melt when you were helping me fix that fence."Chord scoffed
"There is a reason why you're a colt Harvey. Your face wasn't meant to make cute faces." I nudged him with a look of hurt pride, and we both laughed as we went home to eat before the wedding.
The air was chilly, and the town didn't have much to offer when it came to fun, but I was glad I had my brother with me. Somehow we knew how to make the long days seem shorter. There wasn't much that we had to tell each other, we knew that there would be days we would be mad at each other, yet we knew that after all that was said and done we had each other to fall back on for support. Family is everything.
I turned over sweating from the heat.
"I know you like it nice and cozy but we need that wood to last the winter..." I murmured as tried to go back to sleep. It wasn't until my face smelt soot that my eyes shot open with fear. At first I barely could grasp what I was seeing, but even with that I felt my mind slowly ease me into realizing that what I was seeing was real.
My home was burned down, the town ablaze. I looked around trying to not only catch my bearings but to try and understand why I wasn't hurt. I looked around to try and find my parents or my brother.
"Mom? Dad? Chord?" I walked over the remains of what were the walls of my home, to see if some pony was around.
"Hello!?"
"HAR! Over here!"
I turned my head towards the sound of my brother's voice, and broke in a gallop hoping everything was alright. I turned the corner to find him holding our mother, burnt and barely breathing. He was perfectly still as he held her, humming the same lullaby that he always hummed. I felt a thousand pins pierce my heart as I quickly went to her side. I didn't touch her, I was afraid she was going to break if I tried. I felt my head move towards her, my eyes already shedding tears as I whispered in a shaky breath.
"Mother... c... Can you... Are you..." My throat clenched up and I felt myself quiver in anger and sorrow. I looked at Chord who was badly injured himself. "... What...?"
"Har... she came out of nowhere. She was screaming. She said that there was another way, and before we had time to react she tore our town apart. We tried to send for help, but I don't think there is enou-'
"Frosted... Harvest...?" Chord stopped mid sentence as we both looked down at our mother. Her voice was dry and she took deep breathes after each word. Her voice would never leave my mind always echoing till this very day...
"Mother. I'm here. I'm fine. How are you still-" I tried to speak in a calm tone but I felt my heart hammering.
"How. Are. You. Alive?" She turned her head slightly towards me. "You. Died..." I couldn't help but take a few steps back, Chord looked at her then me in disbelief.
"Ma. Harvey is right here. He's not de-"
"MY SON DIED TO PROTECT ME!" She screamed as she forced herself on her hooves and placed herself between me and Chord. "You won't take both my sons, Misery. As Celesta as my witness I-"She fell to her knees and started to cough blood. I tried to move towards her but she used what magic she had left to throw a rock at me. It cut my cheek, I felt it slowly pour down my face. "You won't take both of my sons..."
"I'll protect you mother. I won't let her near us again." Chord stepped in between our mother and I giving a look of confusion mixed with determination. Against any other pony I would had challenged him, but out of all of our fights he would always win. Unlike him I had no grasp on what magic I had.
I backed up. I didn't want to fight my brother or my weak mother. I ran in the opposite direction. The wind howled almost like laughter. I was lost, and a snow storm slowed down my efforts, I slowed down to breath and that was when she found me.
"I thought I lost you..." It was a whisper as if it was right next to my ear. I jumped and looked around for the voice, "... Oh, how I thought I lost you Frosted Harvest. Now I won't let you go..."
"Who are you!" I screamed at the wind and snow afraid that I was losing my sanity.
"I am many things young colt, but I am known as Misery."
"Your just a myth to scare foals, you're not real!" I spoke this but somewhere inside I knew I was wrong.
"This is almost like a dream, you act and say just the same, and your face wore the same look of terror. Then again, you are him, and he is you..." I felt my mane being played with and my legs shook in response.
"... What is it that you want...?" I spoke in a low voice. I felt defeated for some reason.
"Now we're getting somewhere. A simple deal is what I need. I'm getting weaker. I need a vessel to keep me safe for as long as I need to rest, but there are rules. I needed a pony who was of age and has yet found his destiny..." I felt something trace a sideways eight where my cutie mark would be.
"... in exchange...?" I swallowed hard, but the cold made the effort even harder than I would had thought.
"I'm the one who needs the deal, and I've come to you so it could be struck. It is the terms you wish it to be, and I'll do everything within my power to keep my end of the bargain."
I was lost and I wanted answers, but what I wanted was to get out of the cold, for my family to be safe. At that moment I never realized what it meant to make that deal.
Author's Note
As far as chapters go. they'll prolly vary depending on the circumstances. But I hoped you enjoyed the first chapter. I hope to have some more chapters up soon.
All she wanted to hear....
The laughter of the foals running around in the field could be heard from my cracked window. After sixty years I managed to keep my past from catching up to me. As the years passed my memories started to become fuzzy and slightly altered, but I still remember our deal. Though out of the entire time I've been afflicted with this curse, not once did I think that I had the time to create what I have now.
I've lived over a total of five hundred and a half years. With all the time that had passed I haven't made much progress when it came to memorable times. All that I had done was simply go through the motions and barely made any attempts until now to actually try and be apart of civilization. There were a couple of changes that I had to adjust to but I found that surviving and blending in was almost second nature.
The book in front of me was open to the story I wrote about three hundred years back. The tale of Misery, and how a colt took it upon himself to help keep Equestria safe for as long as it had to take. I told this tale time and time again, even to the foals that were now charged in my care. They would ask what happened to the colt now, wondering if Misery would someday come back and create a new time of darkness. I was afraid to answer that to be honest. All I could ever respond with was that as long as I was there with them they would be safe.
I took a deep breath, as a shiver crawled its way up my spine. I closed my eyes to steady my nerves, as they shut I vividly saw what I agreed to back then.

"Now think hard on what you want. Your terms mean that I will do everything in my power to achieve. No more, no less..."
The wind started to chill my hooves, as I was not only taken aback by her offer, but I couldn't help but feel that what I was about to do was going to not only hurt me, but possibly break me. I took deep breaths, the white mist that escaped from me only caused me to focus on how cold I was getting. I gradually felt my legs grow numb as I stood there. I felt her move around me in circles, in my mind I could almost see her wearing a sly smile. I shuddered and thought about what I saw and I knew what I wanted then.
"I... I don't want you to hurt my town and my family anymore. I want them to be free of their pain. I want my town back."
I heard a slow sigh echo around me, as if contemplating. "... You are aware that I cannot bring back the dead, and your town will not be fixed from the turmoil it has already suffered. I cannot control time to go back. Not for you, or your mother whom died in the flames..."
The cold was setting in my bones as my shuddering caused me to collapse to my knees. I didn't understand what she meant by my mother dying in flames, I couldn't question it. I couldn't speak anymore, the cold was slowly taking my consciousness. All I could do was just nod, I will never forget how much an effort that small gesture took.

I haven't had time to settle down and have a home since my deal with Misery, and every now and then she stirs in her sleep to remind me that I'm still bound by our agreement. When my mother departed from her suffering, I was given some of her power, in specific longevity. I would age at a significantly slower pace than other ponies. I don't know for how long, but I've noticed getting slightly larger, I've needed to get my flank pack adjusted. I used that very pack to hide that I didn't have a cutie mark, and even if others find it odd that I wouldn't take it off even when I relax, I've managed to use the excuse of being a story teller to remove any or all judgments. Which in turn brought me to one of my many occupations that I used when I travel.
Thinking about how my thoughts have slowly been escaping me I wasn't aware of the sound of some pony approaching. The sound of the window creaking caused my attention to move towards the sound, one of the foals that was frolicking found himself to my window. From the looks of things it was more out of curiosity than of need. I rose an eyebrow in a questioning manner.
"There something wrong Swift Chord?" The young colt gave an apologetic look then cast his eyes towards the window seal to show he didn't mean to intrude. I found him when he was very little, I don't know the exact details but his parents died from an illness, he was brown, with a grey mane reminding me of my brother.
"Umm... Harvey. We were wondering if you could come out and play with us. They made me come, and ask since I lost that last game..." I could hear his hoof kick gently kicking the wall, a nervous tick of his that I found kind of unique. I took a small moment to contemplate if I should, I had planned on doing some studies as the little ones played. I looked at the clock and gave a small sigh, Swift Chord wore a nervous look. I gave a small smile as I marked the page on the book I had in front of me, a book of folk tales and other stories of the past.
"I don't see the harm in a little fun, I should take a break anyways." I rose my hind legs and took a small stretch, Swift Chord gave an ecstatic grin and did a small jump.
"Really?! I'll go tell the others!" He ran off towards the other foals whom seem just as excited about the news. I gave a small chuckle as I walked out of my office taking my book in my mouth. I run a small orphanage, with the help of three others who work part time and help me with the foals. It took me about ten years of work to get where it's at now, and thankfully I still had about five or so years before I had to leave this place in some other pony's care.
If it wasn't for Swift Chord I wouldn't had even considered opening up such a long term plan. I owe it to him for the others who also take refuge here, and for that I feel thankful he crossed my path in life. I managed after a slight struggle to get the book I was reading in one of the slots in my pack as the door closed behind me, I figured that after a nice game or two I could tell them a story before going back in for supper.
"You know you could use your magic instead of acting like an earth pony. I'm starting to wonder if your even a unicorn." The jest came from one of the workers. A light purple Pegasus with a red main.
"How long are you going to keep holding that over me Iris?" I spoke in a deflated tone but wore a look of sarcasm, she couldn't help but give a laugh before answering. Her name is Glowing Iris, Iris for short.
"When I don't cringe at how flexible you are, or when you finally decide to take your pack off." She was grading some papers on her desk. She teaches the foals and on days I leave for an odd job she watches them in my stead. Calling her a part time worker is more of an understatement but I call her that because I know it gets on her nerves sometimes.
"So never." I let out a long breath as I passed her desk, as I was passing I could see that she wore a smirk on the corner of her mouth from the corner of my eye.
"Harvey..." She spoke in a softer tone which made me stop and turn my head towards her.
"Iris?"
"... it's nothing." She was focused on her work, but her expression was a little softer than what I remembered. Most of the time she wore this coy look like she knew who you were, but sometimes she had those times where you wonder if she was the one who no pony knew. Regardless she had a way of knowing what to say at the right time, something that has helped me with the little ones many of times.

The night's cold air set in when the sun went down. The foals went to bed, Iris helped me with that. We sat in my office, I made some tea as usual, we normally took a small bit of time to chat, then we would see each other in the morning. Sometimes she would use the room I prepared for her, and other times she would go back into town and sleep at home, tonight I expected her to stay.
"Thank you for helping me with them again tonight." I spoke this as I filled her cup up with some more tea, she waved her hoof to tell me that I've poured enough.
"It was nothing. Besides I wouldn't expect you to take care of the fillies, the colts seem to give you enough trouble." She stretched her wings with a small sigh.
"Oh they're not that bad, there like any other young colt, never wanting to sleep, Chord is the exception."
"Chord will always be the exception. He's practically your son. I don't know why you haven't actually officiated the paperwork." I took a sip of my tea to gather my words to explain why.
"He is my son. I have all the documents filled out. I was going to wait till he was old enough to decide that himself. I knew my parents so I don't understand how he or the other foals feel about adoption..."
"You are doing an amazing job Harvey. Any pony can see that. They adore you. As for Chord, he's not as young as you remember, mind you. He'll be able to get a job this coming spring. I think you should talk to him about this, not just for his sake, but for you also." She held a serious face and I couldn't help but give a small smile.
"Your right as usual Iris. I'm just afraid of what the other foals would feel about it." Iris gave a scoff.
"Please, if anything they would think that after they get old enough you'll adopt them as yours, and they would help you out with this orphanage, or at least know they have a home to come back to. Chord's the only one without his cutie mark, so it's now a matter of time before they find a place they can fit in."
The idea of me actually adopting all of them made me a little happy inside, just imagining having a family made me want to tear up. Then I felt her turn over in her slumber, and I felt the dream falling apart. Misery would ensure I wouldn't be happy, she feeds off my own misery, the one part of the deal she explained to me after it was made. I felt a small chill run up my spine as I recalled my mother in pain. Apparently I couldn't hide the pained expression on my face, Iris came closer to me in worry.
"... Harvey. Whats wrong?" I could hear her wings give a small flutter of worry, it was strangely comforting.
"Iris. I have something to talk to you about as well." I looked into her eyes with a stare that I could imagine was one of urgency because she nodded without asking what it was. "Its about me. I won't be able to stay here very much longer."
"Why? Are you sick?"
"Not exactly. You remember the stories I tell the foals, after supper?" She nodded and sat down next to me and stared at the table.
"You tell a lot of stories Harvey. Most of them were tales that I was told when I was filly, the one I haven't heard was the one about Misery." I gave a heavy sigh.
"I can understand why. It's not a tale you can find in books either. It wasn't a tale until I started to tell it. Of course I had to make an ending. Many ponies don't like stories without endings..." I took a sip of my tea before continuing "Regardless, there isn't an ending yet, that's the truth. I don't even know if I will even be able to tell the story once I've witnessed the end. I would say more but I don't know if you will suffer any repercussions from what I've already disclosed to you..."
"Harvey, you can't be saying you're the stallion from the tale. That's really far-fetched." She placed her hoof on mine I could tell it was shaking slightly. "That would mean you're older than you look, and did what happen in the story..." she trailed off not wanting to ask if I did witness the burning town.
"... It's all true." I gently moved my hoof away and took off my flank pack to reveal that I had no cutie mark, I could hear a quick gasp, the kind where you tried to stop it by covering your mouth. "Its a lot to take in I know."
"Your..." I could see the disbelief and a mix of emotions, that if I had more time to see them slowly I would never be able to truly describe all of them. There was a long silence, I didn't know what to do so I just stood there and stared out the window to give her time to process what just happened. I could feel Misery inside of me feeding off my negative emotions, whenever she did I would feel hollow as if I was never sad before, just living, not something I would ever get used to.
I was too focused on what Misery was doing that I didn't notice Iris had moved until she placed her hoof on my flank where my cutie mark should had been. "... no wonder you can't use magic." I silently nodded as I kept my gaze on the window, Iris' reflection slowly took my focus. "Dose it hurt?" I shook my head unsure if I could even speak. As if she knew how I felt she nuzzled me and I couldn't help but embrace her slowly.
I felt slightly relieved to have someone to talk to about this. I felt a small amount of weight lift from my heart. Then without a word I felt Misery lash out inside of me. It felt like she found a way to constrict my heart. It was her telling me that I was over stepping my boundaries. I had to push her away from me just so the pain could stop. Iris gave a look of betrayal, then concern as my face wore fear.
"Iris. I can't stay here much longer. I can't stay near you, I. I have feeling for you and if I were to ever express them I-"
It was the first time I ever had a kiss stolen from me. It was a bitter sweet kind of feeling, one that I would still feel for as long as I live. She pulled away and hid her face near my neck, I felt her warm tears soak my fur.
"Don't say it. I've always wanted to hear those words. But. Not like this..." She took brief pauses between her words, which in those moments felt like a slow blade moving towards my heart. "... I loved you for a long time now. Now this. It's not fair. To me. The Foals. Chord-" She pulled back and looked at me with wide eyes. "What are you going to tell Chord? are you going to take him with you?" My throat dried up and I had to swallow a couple of times before answering.
"I want him to stay and help you. He's the oldest out of the bunch and he hasn't found his cutie mark yet, and taking him would only cause him to see pain." Her tears started to come back and she leaned against me once more, not sobbing, not trying to ask me to stay, just there. I knew I would had shed some tears that night as well, but at that moment I somehow forgot how.
Author's Note
So I had some time off. I'm probably going to need to find someone to proof read my chapters before I post them. I don't mind doing it myself but I would like some out side input.
I'll prolly find someone through a group or something., I just haven't found time to do so. I hope you enjoyed this chapter. I'll have the main 6 and other tags show up soon.
-Blues.
Somehow I think she knew I would hate living this long. I sometimes wonder if the trees could tell me they feel the same. Could they explain how some days seem to last a moment while others seem to somehow feel like night never existed? I hope I never get the chance for the answer, I'm pretty sure if I did I wouldn't realize I went insane... Or have I already?
"No... Not yet. Your getting there, but don't worry, I'm here to make sure you won't. After all. We need each other."
It's been a year or two since I left the orphanage. The foals cried, and begged. Said that I didn't have to leave, some of them swore to find me someday. Chord. His whole being stated betrayal, but I knew it was a word beyond that. Disappointment. Not the simple kind either, it was the kind that is against someone you loved. That's not the word either. I think in some way he knew that It was going to happen.
"Ignoring me again?"
"No..."
"Good, I want a nice conversation right now."
Misery wakes up every now and then, and when she does It's not something I can ignore. She always wants to talk whenever she is awake. Not like there is anything else she can do really. I just don't see the point in why she needs me to talk out loud.
"Because trying to listen to your thoughts is exhausting. It's like putting your ear against a wall to try and hear a conversation in another room. Have you ever done that? If not I recommend you try it. Harder than it sounds." She gave a small giggle, probably from a bad joke or pun, I never really understand her humor.
"I don't mind talking when we're traveling, it's when we reach a town that it's a problem. They look at me like I'm crazy, and I don't want that when I have to make a few bits telling stories for a simple meal."
"Pffpt. Like you need to eat." She did have a point. Ever since the deal I never really needed any sustenance, she said that it would be unfortunate if her new home needed constant maintenance. I still find it uncomfortable that she called me her 'new home.'
"Its not that I need to its out of routine, sides, I'd like to blend in."
"Please, a traveling stallion- without a cutie mark might I add. Goes place to place telling stories to whoever listens, and if that doesn't work, does other odd jobs. You're a modern Changeling." Her comment stung, like most of them. Its why I dislike our little conversations, but she's the closest thing to a companion I have. "Well at least we know you're cutie mark isn't luck." Her last comment made me stop in my tracks.
"Thank you for that observation. In fact thank you for coaxing me into talking to you! I don't know why I even bother, In fact why don't you continue with your small bits of observational humor. I'd love to hear more." I stopped my hoof with anger. Always. Always I think she is there to help me a little and like an idiot I fall for it.
She gave a giggle as I tried to control my breathing. I pointed my head towards the ground and closed my eyes, and did what I always did. I began to hum the same song my brother used to hum when he would work. Our mother's lullaby...
That's when I stopped and opened my eyes in shock. I strained with all my might to remember the words, but they weren't there.
"No... No No No... I remember. I-I remember. It's like walking. I know this. I know the words. I KNOW THE WORDS!"
I was shaking in anger and fear now. How could I forget the words? They were carved into me and my brother when I we were young.
"I SANG IT TO CHORD WHEN HE WAS A FOAL. I SANG IT TO THE FOALS. I KNOW THE WORDS!"
I collapsed. Slamming my hooves against the ground like a young colt with a tantrum. I could feel my eyes start to tear up but never fall, and slowly the feelings I felt started to slowly disappear. Like the lullaby I once knew. After another few moments I felt empty and tried to remember what I was doing.
"You done with your little break? We still have a little ways to go before the next town..." She spoke in a matter of fact tone, and I remembered what I was doing and how I felt but I couldn't retrieve those emotions I once felt. I stood up slowly and let out a sigh.
"If I could hate you I would, but I'm sure you would take that away from me too."
"I see that you're slowly learning." She couldn't help but laugh, and after a minute or two of laughter I felt her yawn. "I'll leave you to your thoughts for now. Good night Frosted Harvest. Take me somewhere new..."
I continued to walk. Humming the tune to the lullaby hoping I could somehow remember the words. Somehow piece them together. It was a desperate futile attempt, but I won't quit. I can't quit. If I ever do I'll forget, and be another empty memory. That was when I decided to stop and pulled out that book of tales, opened it and wrote in small words within the cover of the book.
'You had a brother, and a son who you named after. Swift Chord.
You had an orphanage you ran, a home to go back to. Glowing Iris is taking care of them.
Your son is a brown pony with a blue and grey stripped mane.
Misery is taking your memories away from you.
Your name is Frosted Harvest.'
I also wrote down the music of the lullaby underneath what I wrote. There wasn't anything else I could had written down that seemed important.
