Arion was running. He was sprinting through a forest. With each passing moment he heard more and more steps in his
wake. He checked the ammo counter on his semi-automatic rifle. Near empty. He continued to run, and he saw a small blue figure that zipped across a clearing. Arion saw that it was a slightly translucent blue mare. As she looked at him, her voice; or what he though was her voice; spoke clearly in his mind. "Don't make a mare a promise, if you know you can't keep it" she said. As he watched in awe, she bolted off, leaving him alone. "what was tha-" he managed to say as a Xeno pinned him and raised its red glowing sword and brought it down on him.
He woke up and nearly smashed his horn off.
"Ah, that's gonna leave a mark" he said as he looked at the clock got up and looked at the mirror. Same silver and white mane, same bluish coat and teal eyes. As he put on his standard uniform, and he looked at his decorated chest. He had received a Purple Heart, a medal of an arrow for his participation in Project ARROWHEAD, and other varying medals. At the top of it all was the gilded three lines over a star that indicated his status as the Lieutenant Commander of the Thirteenth Legion of the Equestria Military. As he finished putting it on, the loudspeaker blasted out, "All legion Lieutenant Commanders and Full Commanders report to the meeting hall immediately" Arion combed his mane before walking down to the meeting hall. He took his seat next to Drake, the Full Commander of the Thirteenth Legion. The other legion Commanders poured in, then a black unicorn strode in and stood behind the podium. "Welcome, all of you" he said. "You must be wondering why I brought you here. It is simple. We are losing. Ponies are weak bags of flesh and bone, ill equipped to fight the enemy we now face. Invisible. The Weapon." he said. Arion watched, mouth agape. The very thought of this astounded him. A way to defeat them? A way to ensure that they could save everypony? "And also" the black unicorn continued, "I will allow for each legion to be given two, one for the commander and one for the second-in-command. Arion could not believe it. He would be given the chance to save hundreds, if not thousands of lives." You will be given the suits tomorrow. Now, please leave and go one with your days." he said as he stepped away from the podium and left. The rest of Arion's day was a blur, as he was tingling with excitement at the thought of being a true hero for once.
