Fizzled folly

(Fizzles POV)
15 days later.
Fizzle woke up again after a frightful dream. These were quite common, and he could handle them with relative ease now. It still didn’t change how scary they were. You decided to get up and walk over to your gem pile. Picking up a juicy sapphire and a tangy ruby, you go deeper into the cave to find Garble. You were going to ask if you could finally go outside. You haven’t been allowed to leave at all, and you understood his reasons why. You’ve been ‘too hurt’, and ‘your wings are broken’. You just want to go outside to get some fresh air, not do mid-air dog-fighting.
You search the entire cave for him while munching on your gems, from the entrance to the magma pit. Not finding him anywhere you decide to do something… fun. Garble made it very clear NOT to go in his part of the cave, but Fizzle was very bored, and a little bit restless. ‘And, if he’s not here, what's the harm?’ you think.
You step in and decide to snoop around. You search around the magma pool, the center-bit, and around his ‘unusually large and ornate’ mirror. There was absolutely nothing of interest, except maybe for a book called “101 Easy Ways to Prepare Gems: for Kids!” (you absolutely had to snicker at that), and a very beat up wooden cutout of a pony.
Deciding to go to the shelf on the wall, you looked around again to check for anything odd. Your eyes coming to his bed, you see a strange lump in his pillow. Walking over hastily (Who wouldn’t if they potentially found something incriminating to tease their friend about), you sit down, cross your legs, and lift up the pillow.
Shock.
Silence.
Your eyes widened with surprise and fear.
You couldn’t believe what you were seeing.
Under his pillow were two very familiar gemstones.
The one you used for pain.
And the one you used for pleasure.
Hidden underneath Garble’s pillow.
‘How-how-how did he find them?’ you question yourself as you feel your anxiety and nervousness rising. ‘Is this why he has been treating me so nicely? Is this why he wanted to take care of me?! Does he hate me?!!’. Mentally, you were screaming, panicking, freaking out, worrying, and afraid all at the same time, and you felt like you were going to explode from all of this emotion. As you kept considering what could and has happened because of this, you felt yourself break down. You collapsed into a heap as you started to cry softly, and considered your friendship with Garble.
‘Is this w-why has he been so nice to me? Is he just doing this because he pities me? Are we even still friends?’ you think. You normally wouldn’t get worked up over this with just anybody, but you knew that Garble was special. ‘I-I’m such a loser, getting worked up over someone who will never l-l-love me back,’ you mused as you now sobbed and shook violently.
“Fizzle! I’m back!” you hear Garble call out. You didn’t care anymore, let him see you like this. He'd probably realize what a lost cause you are and kick you out. You hear Garble searching the rooms.
“FIZZLE!” Garble roars at you in surprise as he sees you in his room. You pull yourself in a tight ball and start to sob harder. He rushes over to you, and puts his hand on your shoulder. You pull away from his hand. You didn’t need his comfort. You didn’t need anyone’s comfort.
“Fizzle,” he says more calmly and caring now, “did you find them?”. You start to cry even harder.
“Why?” he questions.
why?
Why…?
WhY?**
WHY?!
So many memories of “why you are a horrible person who doesn’t need to exist” are brought up; you can’t even interpret them. You are a mess, Garble is staring at you with wide dumb eyes, and you just want to leave.
You stand up, and bolt towards the entrance. “FIZZLE!” you hear Garble yell at you. Tearing off the bandages on your wings, you jump off of the entrance and glide as far as you can away from him. You don’t want to see him like this and hurt him. Or, you don’t want to stay there so he doesn’t hurt you You can’t really tell what you are feeling. You hear Garble calling after you, but nothing else. You look down, and notice the desert below you. When you can fly no more, you run as far as you can. You end up in the middle of a dark forest, and you try to find shelter.
Nightfall arrives, and in the little clearing you managed to find, you ignite some logs for some warmth and protection. You don’t feel pain anymore. Your wings have gone numb, bloodied, and torn now, as well as your mind. All you know is that the only thing you feel is fear.
You fear that Garble will hate you.
Some of the trees started to sway abnormally, and you didn't like it. But you were too tired, and too emotionally drained, so you fell unconscious.
“Oh master; if only you knew that your time was running out,”
