Just Friends

"I know you like him!" Aurora cried to Infinity Flame, her best friend. Infinity shook her head which tossed her black mane with its red, orange, and yellow tips into her face. "I do NOT!" She protested. Aurora rolled her gray eyes and started walking towards Sugar Cube Corner, her green, blue, and purple mane swishing behind her, "Whatever you say. I see the way you look at him, he looks at you the same way."

"He does?!" Immediately after saying that a blush appeared on Infinity"s  white face. Aurora giggled, "You do!" The white earth pony growled, "Whatever. Lets just go," she replied and started running off towards Sugar Cube Corner leaving her light blue unicorn friend behind her. "Wait up!" Aurora yelped and dashed after her friend.

Ding! As the bell on the door rung Sonic Boom turned his gray head towards the door to see who it was, it was Infinity Flame. The gray pegasus waved his earth pony friend over, " Hey Infinity."

"Hey Sonic."

"Have you seen Aurora?"

"Yea, she was behind me so she'll be here-"

" Welcome to Sugar Cube Corner! May I take your order?"

Infinity turned ariund in surprise to see Aurora standing there a quill and notepad grasped in her magic. "Wha...How'd you get here before me?!" Aurora rolled her gray eyes, "Telportation spell. May I take your order?" She repeated. Infinity looked at Sonic who just shook his head and ran a hoof through his brightly colored yellow, green, and blue mane, "You can order first." She sighed, "I'll have a blueberry muffin."

"Same here."

The unicorn mare nodded, "Okay I'll be back soon with your orders." She quickly skipped away behind the counter to grab the muffins. Infinity pushed the colored tips of her mane out of her face,away from her yellow eyes, "So..umm...How've you been?" Sonic's green eyes looked everywhere but Infinity's face, "Good, good...what about you?" Infinity nodded, "Same..."

"That's nice.."

"Yea.."

The two ponies sat around the table in an awkward silence. "I'm back!" Aurora sang as she reentered the room with two muffins in her sparkling blue magic grasp. Infinity looked at her friend happy that she had come back to break up the tension. "There are only two muffins so you guys will have to share," Aurora declared. Sonic looked at her with a confused look in his eyes, "But there are two muffins- one for me and the other for Infinity."

"No silly," Aurora said shaking her head, "This one is for me!" The unicorn plopped one of the muffins into her mouth whole, "You guys share this one," The other muffin was then plopped on the table. Infinity rolled her eyes in disgust, "Um how do you want to split this?"

"I don't know. Where's the knife?" Infinity looked around the table, "I don't know," her eyes then shifted to Aurora who just smiled inisently. Infinity then grabbed the muffin and took a bite, "Now you," she said as she held the muffin out to Sonic. At fist the stallion looked taken aback but then took a small bite of the muffin. The pair continued to do this until the was only a small sliver of the muffin and only a small space between the two. Infinity leaned forward to take her bite of the muffin but stopped when she realized that if she took this bite there would be no space between her and Sonic. She quickly pulled back and went to move her hoof way before realizing that Sonic's gray hoof was underneath the own white one.  "Darn!" Aurora mumbled under her breath as she watched the two ponies move away from each other. Her plan had failed.

"So...," She said starting up a new conversation, "time to talk about why we are here."   Infinity looked at Aurora, "Yea, Aurora why are we here?"  The unicorn giggled, "You're silly! It's vacation time!"

"But it's the middle of winter!" Sonic objected and he threw his hooves on the air.

"Yea, but that doesn't mean we can't have some vacation," Infinity chimed in.

"See Sonic, Infinity gets it," Aurora replied with a grin. Sonic sighed, "Fine but what are we going to do?"  Aurora looked between Sonic and Infinity, "I think we should go skiing!"

"So why did you chose skiing?" Infinity asked Aurora as they packed their bags for the trip.
