Growing A Pair.

Garry heard to front door open. Who could that be? He look over at the clock on Twilights night stand. It was midnight.

"Twilight, I'm home," echoed a boyish voice. "Garry? You around big guy?" A quick jolt of fear pass through him. Spike was home. He knew that the young dragon slept in Twilight's room. Garry could hear foot step climbs the stairs. He pulled out Twilights sheets, making sure he did not disturb her in anyway. As he did so, he felt his entire body felt sore to the core. Yow! Geez, Twi what did you do to me? Garry dismissed the thought. With much haste, he quickly found his pants. He didn't even bother putting on his boxers. He felt a chill over his chest. He didn't remember if he had his short on or not. He heard footsteps coming up the staircase.

"Twilight you up her-"

"H-hey Spike, where ya been my good ol buddy ol pal you." Garry interrupted Spike as he open Twilight's door. Trying his best to just sweep the prior event under the rug.

Spike look up at Garry. "Oh hey Garry, what's going-" He stopped. With horror he stared at Garry. Pointing a claw at the human. "You...you..." Spike stammered over his own words.

Oh no, he knows. Garry put up his hands in defense. "Spike I can explain, t-there was champagne involved, and-and one thing led to another. And ahh there was an um, an explosion. Yeah! an explosion happen and.."

"You..you have w-w-wings Garry."

"There was a tornado in her room plus a stink bomb and-" Spike words hit him like a brick wall. "What did you say?" He whispered in fear, hoping he did not what he thought Spike just said.

"Look behind you," He pointed his claw over his shoulder. Fear took hold of Garry face. He slowly turned his head over to his right shoulder. There. In front of his eyes ways one bright white wing folded neatly against his back. He reach over with trembling hands to his new amandage. Sure enough they were real white feathers attach to real white wings. This is unbelievable.

"This- I-" Garry trying to make a coherent sentence. Spike still staring at the knew Garry. He just ran past the dragon.

He opened the main door and ran out. He could hear that Spike was calling to Twilight in a panic manner. Come on, can't she rest? Pushing the thought aside he ran faster than he had ever ran before.

Garry felt as if he had a new body to run around in. He was running so fast that it seem like a colorful blur of the night tell he stop at the one place he can collect his thoughts. He was at the park with the lake. This time Luna wasn't around. This was perfect for Garry. He slowly walk up to the body of water. He got on his knees and look at his own reflection. Everything was there, his short brown hair. His hairless face. The emerald green eyes. The only thing that change is that he wasn't his own body. He actually had muscles on his body; abs, biceps, triceps, pecs. He got everything. This ran a shiver ran down his spine. Twilight, what have you done to me?

His new wings ruffled on their own, sending a tingly feeling up Garry's spine. This made im jump a bit. He tried to command his new limbs, but nothing happen. He wondered if he had control of any kind. He reach over his shoulder and pinch his wings. A sharp jolt of pain ran through his body. Alright if I have feeling, then I must have be able to move them right? He sat down and concentrated. he search his mind, feeling around to see if their was any way he could control his new body parts. He move everything he knew how to move.

Nothing.

Grunted in frustration he got to his feet, but it seemed that his wings had another plan for them. His left one seem to pop open at random. The momentum caused Garry to topple over and cut his fore arm pretty bad. More pain passed through him. "Oh for...gah!" Garry scream in frustration. He looked over to the slightly open wing. "This is your fault ya know!" Point an angry finger at the culprit. More pain engulfed him, With his good arm, he placed a hand over the wound. He felt his arm blood on his hand. He felt something warm under his hand. Garry looked down at his hand. His eyes went wide.

A faint glow of lavender filled his sight. The warm feeling persisted for a quick moment, before it disappeared along with the light. He felt no pain whatsoever. He lifted up his hand. It would seem to be that he had completely healed up. Not even a scar could be found.

"What the-" Garry said in disbelief, flexing his forearm. He was astonished at himself. He couldn't explain it. He looked at the hand that produced the glow. It was a normal hand. nothing new about it. Still had the calluses from work and still the same fingers that he knew from birth till now.

"Weird," Garry said to himself. He felt his own wings ruffled at his response. This was going to get old really fast for Garry. He sighed heavily. He heard something from the distance. It was faint. Garry heard a voice, no two voice, come this way. He looked around trying to pinpoint the the source.

"...I'm telling you Twilight, he had this look in his eye," Said a younger voice.

"Spike this is no time for jokes! We have to find him." A feminine voice echoed the night.

Of course he had to wake her up, why would he not of? Garry thought angrily. However, his angrily slowly subsided as he peered into the night. It has a calming effect to him. He heard Twilight's hoof steps along with a pitter patter of smaller foot steps following.

"There he is!" Spike exclaimed. Garry didn't move from his current spot on the ground. He heard Twilight spoke.

"G-garry?" He didn't move. He just sat there like stone. He felt hoof step stop next to him. Followed by the warmth of fur next to his side.

"Garry?" Twilight said more softly. Again no response from him. Twilight took this as a sign of anger, a sign of resentment and smite targeted to her. Tears began to flow down her check. "Garry, please say something, anything," she paused before speaking again in a more pleading tone. "Please." This did nothing for Garry, still had a fix gazed at the night scene laid in front of him. Twilight nudged him, trying to snap out of his coma-like trance. "Garry, please, d-don't be mad at me, I didn't mean to-" A whimper escaped Twilight's lips, but was immediately cut off as a swift arm grab her by the barrel. She squeaked in surprised. In a low forgiving voice Garry spoke.

"You know why I come here to this park?"

Twilight sniffled, "N-no."

He looked down at her. Giving a warm smile he continued. "This place," he gestured to the park then looked back at her, "is so peaceful. So gentle, so relaxing." He patted her head while he rubbed her belly in his embrace, comforting her as best he could.

"This place doesn't judge you. It doesn't get mad at you. It just," he paused once more. "It just let all emotions go," using a hand to make it wave in the wind. He would hope that Twilight, being incredibly smart she would get the hint that Garry has forgiven her about her transforming her. However it seems that Twilight failed to observe that in her emotional state. Her watery eyes look up at him.

"I'm so sorry Garry, you must hate me for doing this to you." She let all out, burying herself into Garry's arms.

"Twilight I don't-" Garry started.

"Im such a stupid unicorn!"

"Oh come on Twi-" his tone changed into a surprised annoyance.

"I made you look like a monster" Twilight balled even harder. From behind, Garry heard a face palm from Spike. He rolled his eyes at Twilight. With a quick scoop, he cradled her into his chest. He sat up from where we was kneeling. This made Twilight stop herself in her tracks.

"Twilight," Garry looked into Twilights lavender orbs," hush your pretty little head," Garry whispered as he started to walk back to the library. Twilight sniffled a bit in response. "How about we get ourselves to bed and we will figure this stuff out in the morning." She nodded. Garry heard some snickering. He look over at Spike, trying his best to contain himself.

"Geez you two are worse than Rarity's nervous breakdowns." He snickered harder at them. Garry rolled his eyes and just walk back to the library with Twilight in his arms. He couldn't be mad at Twilight. He loved her and trusted her. He knew deep down in his gut that if Twilight was serious about 'fixing this' then he would have any worries.

Days turned into week as Twilight tried every trick she knew. From the classic 'Control, Alternate, and Remove.'

This had no effect on Garry.

She also tried to quantumly alter his wings, zapping out of them existence.

No effect.

Spell weave a controlled invisibility spell with a numbing the white appendages.

No effect.

Twilight even went to the extent of time travel to fix her wrong doing.

Failure of spell when she tried to go into Garry's timeline. All seemed hopeless for Garry.

He was laying on top of the tallest part of the oak library observing the stars. His arms, legs and wings were sprawled out open. The bright twinkles of the stars seemed therapeutic to Garry. He let out a relaxing sigh. Luna, you know how to make a great sky. Garry thought to himself with a smile on his face. But, a single train of thought made him a bit more anxious for his mare friend. He frowned as his thoughts engulfed him.

He was worried that Twilight's determinism to fix him was putting a strain on her. He remembered that she would stay to the extreme late hours (even for him) studying different spells. He felt guilty that he wanted to get rid of the pesky wings as soon as possible. Yes they were good looking, but it seemed to change him even further then he noticed months ago when he arrived here. He shifted his head to the side, looking over his advantage point of where he sat.

He remembered how Twilight explained how he got his wings. According to Twilight, his wings was a result of a transformation spell. The spell work, but it had some stranger effects on Garry. The magic that entered his body should have done as instructed by the spell caster. This, however, seemed not to be the case. The magic that entered him somehow bonded with him, unlocking some 'trait' inside of him. Locking a part of Twilight's magic inside Garry's body. It all made sense when she laid it out in front of him, except for one thing. This new type of magic that Garry could use.

Twilight was perplexed on how an alien like Garry would come close to cast any such ability to use magic to the contrary of what he had told her about his world. She tried many test to discover how her magic somehow fused with his magic. But it seems that no matter what Twilight did, all of her magic seemed to have no effect. She even went out of her way to try to blast him out of existence. Though the magic seemed to not effect him, it still hurt worse then getting struck by five busses on rush hour back where Garry lived. Why he would allow her to try to even harm in the first place was beyond all realm of reason for Garry. If it was to help Twilight out in any way possible, Garry would not hesitate to volunteer himself without notice.

Garry sat up and frowned once again. He loved Twilight. There was no question in his mind. That special night was more than credible evidence that the feeling is mutual for Twilight. But something seemed off. He couldn't shake the feeling. Sure, it was nice to be a well, nice guy, and not be bogged down by his emotional baggage he carried prior to his new equine style life. But it seemed...wrong. It felt as if a part of him was stripped from him. He had to ask Twilight about this. Maybe she would know something. But how he was going to ask something like that? Every time he would ask the methods of how he came here, she would just dismiss it as complicated magic. However, from the past months, Garry started to understand her a bit more. From her quirks, to her stresses and likes. But, more importantly, he noticed a couple of queues when she was lying through her teeth to hide the truth.

He jump down from where he was lying down. He open his wings up and glided down to the balcony that lead into Twilights bedroom. He landed with a thud. I really should practice not being so loud. He darted to the main door slightly ajar. He peered in. From where Twilights desk should be, there was only a wall of books. Garry step inside. Twilight's room was oddly messy: scrolls and books scattered on the floor. most of her personal books were not on her shelves where they should be. He heard the low whistle of magic from behind the wall of books. He looked over the the grandfather clock to his right. It was one in the morning Twilight. Gah, Twi, really? He slowly approach his mare friends.

"The...magical property of a magic surge can't be...purposely replicated." Twilight struggled to read out loud a tome. Garry raised an eyebrow.

"Twilight?" Garry asked, trying to look over the barrier of books.

"Though it is not un-uncommon that a magic surge causes the preformed spell to be amplified by a gradient from t-two to five." Twilight continued to ready in a groggy tone. Garry remove a particular stack of books thats up to his chest. He placed the books down on the floor. He look back at Twilight, resting his arms on the stack of books.

"Twilight, its pretty late, you should really get some rest." Garry said with concern. Twilight didn't noticed him.

Her head bobbed to another book on her messy desk. "Wing transformation spells: Category three: magical output five point three." Garry shook his head, he knew she was complete out of reality. He look over to a very large book to his left. He reach into his pocket and pulled out his glasses. Once on he recognized the book as an 'Encyclopedia of Known Magic Vol. III.' Twilight gonna kill me but... Garry pick up the large book with both hands. He raised the book high above his head and let go of the book.

THAWP!

"GAH!" Twilight shriek at the loud sound. He turned her head to the source. "Wha...Garry! don't drop my books! You almost gave me a hard attack" Her expression with a mixture of exhaustion and anger. Her mane with completely frizzed out of its original shape. Her coat was not in any petter condition: bits of fur clumped out of shape and stray hairs failing to flow evenly. Dark bags under her eyes look as if she was a zombie.

The sight of this made Garry heart sink. "Twilight, do you even know what time it is?" he ask.

"Yes its only five tell ten." she said with a confident tone.

"Riiiight," Garry glanced back the clock. He shifted his gaze back at Twilight. "If i'm not mistaken I say its one in the morning."

"One? Oh my...Is it really?" she paced a tired hoof on the side of e head.

"Twilight, you done enough for today," Garry said with concern, trying to move some more books out of the way.

"No! I have to find out what I did, there has to be something here to fix what I've done!" She stomping her free hoof on her desk, her ear twitching a bit.

"Twilight, you been up for days, your not talking to your friends." Garry hopped over the obstacle and kneeled next to her. "Your look like someone reanimated you. Twilight, please you really need to rest." Garry placed a hand on her foreleg.

Twilight lowered her head, avoiding his gaze. "But I can't stop Garry, I can't live with myself knowing that I ruined your life from what I did. I have to reverse it." Garry frowned at that response. He felt something tug against the back of his head. He cupped his hand on her cheek. A faint lavender glow radiated from his hand.

"Rest Twilight," Garry cooed. Twilight eyes suddenly shut. Her body fell toward Garry. He quickly reacted to catch her. "Whoa Twi..." Garry held her close. He could feel her breath slowly inhale and exhale. She was out cold. Garry didn't know what to do. He shrugged and got to his feet with Twilight in his arms. He quietly walk over to her enlarged then normal bed. With a free hand he lifted her sheets out of the way. Garry gently placed the now sleeping Twilight in her bed. He then place the sheets over her and kissed her on the cheek. Twilight hummed at that.

"Good night Twilight, sleep well." Garry whispered to her. He leaned back to his feet, look over to find a basket with a ball of a blanket snoring slightly. He shook his head, how Twilight didn't disturb Spike or vice versa. He yawned and started to get undressed. He started to undo his pants when his glasses fell of face and bounced under Twilights bed.

"Shoot," Garry whispered to himself. He got down on his hands and knees. He looked at the dark under bed. He could barely see the reflection of light from his glasses. He reach out and grabbed his glasses. But when he retract his arm, he bump into something sturdy. What ever it was it made a skidding noise. A black book slid from the the foot of her bed. Putting back the glasses back on he stood up and expected the new book.

Research on Interdimensional Beings

Garry pick up the book to examine it. This was the material that Twilight wanted to publish when its complete? Garry's curiosity started a tug of war with his morals. Maybe this will clear up some answers that he wanted to ask about his new life tendencies. However, this would be invading her private work. But this does include him as well. So does that mean that his property as well? He looked over to Twilight sleeping figure. Still It doesn't matter, he would still need permission from her.

Then Rainbow Dash's words struck him with force. The mystery of what Twilight did to him burned deep. He didn't care of the consequences. He need answers. He need closure. So with that final though process. he open the book and scanned its contents. Twilight's research was fascinating. He marveled at her work of equations and strong evidence. Thats when he flip to the middle of the book when he saw Three spells that stop him dead cold. His feet felt could hold him, his legs wobbled. His hand shook violently. Their on the page he fond three spells that was his nightmare fuel.
