Cutiemark Coltfriends

Celestia's sun shined brightly on the small village of Ponyville this Tuesday morning. Ponies were going to work, fulfilling the destiny their cutiemarks have brought upon them. Little colts and fillies ran to school to get an education and play with their friends, In particular there were three little fillies sitting at their classroom desks at the Ponyville schoolhouse, listening to their teacher Miss Cheerilee teach her class on the expansion of Equestrian settler ponies.

"Now as you can see class, the settler ponies traveled blah blah blah..."Scootaloo tuned out Miss Cheerilee's lesson and went deep into her thoughts, blocking out all parts of reality."That trick Rainbow Dash did last evening was so awesome that was even better than awesome it was"..."Awesemazing!" Scootaloo shouted out, practically jumping out of her seat.

The whole class bursts into laughter looking at Scotaloo, she blushed and slowly slid back down into her seat. Miss Cheerilee looked at her with stern eyes "Scootaloo! Since my lesson is so awesmazing why don't you come up and explain to the class the different routes the settlers took to explore Equestria.

Scootaloo's eyes widen at the realization of what she was asked to do."Uh...I." She sighed."Yes ma'am."

A couple of rows down, one of Scootaloo's closest friends and fellow crusader, Apple Bloom, thought to her self as she watched Scootaloo's complete fail at explaining to the class. "C'mon Scoots ya know not ta be shoutin out in the middle of class like that." She sat there thinking about all the fun things she and her friends would do after the school day was done. She didn't pay any mind to the two fillies sitting next to her, Diamond Tiara had fallen asleep and Silver Spoon was surprisingly pay close attention to the lesson. She leaned forward took a look at the little white unicorn with a lavender and pink mane, Sweetie Belle,who had looked right back at her with a warm smile on her face.

A row down from Applebloom, Sweetiebelle sat at her seat and watched Miss Cheerilee send Scootaloo back to her desk and warned her to pay attention to class next time, or else. As miss Cheerilee continued on with her lesson, Sweetie Belle noticed the movement of somepony out the corner of her eye. She turned her head to the opposite corner of the room to notice a grey, pegasus, colt with a slick black mane and purple eyes, Rumble, looking intensely in Scootaloo's direction. Scootaloo didn't seem to notice but Sweetiebelle sure did then Rumble's eyes began to move back and fourth, up and down. She watched his eyes and noticed his hooves slowly rise up only to slam his hooves together with quick force on a hovering black dot. Sweetiebelle almost gaged when she saw the smashed remains of what looked t be a fly. She turned around and looked at the  clock on the wall next to the door. There were four more hours until recess. She looked forward and waited for one of the most looked forward times of the day,recess.

The Golden Oaks library was usually a very quiet place in the morning ,the only ones in the library were the recently crowned Princess Twilight Sparkle, number one assistant and dragon, Spike, and pet Owlicious who was usually asleep when Twilight and Spike were up in the morning ,so it was just Twilight and Spike awake in the library as usual.

Twilight had just yelled to Spike to get out of bed ,then went to eat a bowl of oat meal and go over her list of things to do for the day. Spike slowly and groggily descended down the stairs, tripping on the last step and landing flat on his face. Spike groaned and pushed himself back onto his feet and walked towards twilight who was sitting at a table in the kitchen.

"Good morning Spike." Twilight said in a motherly tone with a warm smile on her face. "Did you sleep well last night?" Twilight asked."

Spike crawled into the chair across from Twilight and simply groaned in response to Twilight's question. Twilight giggled and levitated a bowl of oatmeal towards Spike.

"Thanks Twilight." Spike said To Twilight."I had the strangest dream last night though."

"Oh really?" Twilight asked."What was your dream about."

Spike sat up straight and ate a spoonful of his oatmeal as he proceeded to tell Twilight about the dream he had last night.

"Okay ,so my dream started in a blank white space and there was only one object in the room, me but as an egg. Then out of nowhere three blue diamonds came flying toward me as fast as Rainbow Dash, but suddenly a bunch of pink and lavender music notes circle around me like a shield to protect me from the diamonds, and that's when I woke up."

Twilight had thoughtful expression on her face trying to figure out if there was a meaning to Spike's dream. She sat there silent for a second until a sly smile appeared on her face.

"W-why are you smiling Twilight?" Spike asked.

"I have a good idea of what your dream means but I'll leave it up to you to figure that out."

"Come on Twilight!" Spike whined."Please tell me."

"It's your dream Spike it's up to you to figure out the meaning of it."

Spike groaned and finished up the last of his oatmeal."Fine I'll figure it out on my own ,i'll get started on my chores now Twilight."

"Actually Spike." Twilight began."You can have the rest of the day off, I've got a lot of studying to do plus I want to learn  more about my new wings. I haven't quite gotten used to them yet."

"Really? Thanks Twilight!" Spike exclaimed.

Twilight laughed and gave Spike a gental hug before he rushed out the door and began on the life changing event he would soon begin.

It was finally that one time of day that every colt and filly looks forward to,recess. Yes that wonderful time of day when everypony gets to run around and play games such as hide and seek, trading cards, tag and all sorts of different games; and at the Ponyville school house three friends sat together in the sandbox discussing their plans on getting their cutiemarks.

" So ah was think'n we could be cutie mark crusader miners. We could find all kinds of gold,diamonds and other things to become rich." Apple Bloom suggested.

"The being rich part sound cool and all but it's so much boring work. Who wants spend their life digging in a boring cave all day." Scootaloo said

"Yeah and it means digging in a deep, dark, scary cave." Sweetie Belle added.

"Well maybe we could be cutiemark crusader-" Scootaloo began but was cut off.

"Losers! hahaha!"

"What do ya want now Diamond Tiara." Apple Bloom said flatly.

"We just wanted to see what you'll be failing at next, cutiemark dorks." Silver Spoon said in a mocking tone.

"Oh I know." Diamond Tiara began maybe you'll get cutiemarks in magic, oh wait you can't do magic." Diamond Tiara said looking at Sweetie."Or maybe you can be wonderbolts but that's right chickens don't fly!" Diamond tiara mocked pointing a hoof at Scootaloo. This caused Scootalo to become furious ready to pounce on the bully.

"Why can't ya'll just leave us alone and go do whatever it is you gals do." Apple Bloom said to Diamond Tiara.

"Because it's up to those of us who have cutiemark to keep control of lesser, baby blank flanks like you." Diamond tiara said to Apple Bloom. So it's up to me to tell you that you will never ever be anything close to Rainbow Dash ,but why would you want to be. If she was really the best flyer in Equestria she would have been in the wonderbolts a long time ago. Plus it's quite obvious you'll never be able to fly because your crippled." Diamond Tiara said pointing a hoof to the orange pegasus.

Diamond Tiara had truly crossed the line this time, Scootaloo was about ready to smash the pink fillies face in ,and she would not hold back.

Not many of the foals at school stood up to Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon. Many were either with or against them ,and on the opposite side of the playground a small grey pegasus colt named Rumble was playing hide and seek with his three best friends, Pipsqueak, Featherweight and Shady Days. Rumble had known the three colts for years and truly enjoyed having them around. Rumble was hiding under a jungle gym in a small boxed area with holes ,he sat still and quiet looking out the holes to watch for Pipsqueak,who was it at the time. Then Rumble noticed Diamond tiara and Silver Spoon mocking the cutiemark crusaders on the other end of the play ground. It was normal to watch the two bullies pick on the cmc ,most ponies just ignored it for fear of being put on Diamond Tiara's bad side. As he sat there watching the scene unfold ,he kept his eyes locked onto Scootaloo. Just looking at her gave him a funny feeling all over his body, in some cases causing his wings to suddenly flare open ,usually causing quiet, stifled giggles from other ponies around him.

"why?" he asked to himself. "Why does she always make feel funny ,but not a tummy ache funny but a good funny." He sighed and began to blush at the thought of it. Only to  be taken out of his thought by hearing the voice of the filly he cared about so much to spread loudly through the entire playground.

"Hey!" Hey Scootaloo began, yelling at Diamond Tiara. "Just because I can't fly and Sweetie Belle can't use magic doesn't mean we wont ever be able to! So Leave us alone or else!" Scootaloo Screamed at Diamond Tiara "And I am not crippled! I...just can't...fly yet." Scootaloo said quietly, tears swelling up in her eyes.

Every pony on the playground stopped to watch the scene unfold. Rumble watched wide eyed through his hiding spot.

"Then just what are you going to do to make me stop." Diamond Tiara said. But what she did next crossed the line. Diamond Tiara pushed Scotaloo with all her strength causing her to fall on her back, causing it to be crushed between her and the wooden outline of the sand box. The whole playground gasped collectively, Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom rushed to Scotaloo's side to help her out.

Then Scootaloo let out a loud, ear splitting scream. "AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH! MY WING, I THINK IT'S BROKEN!

Rumble gasped "She hurt Scootaloo!" He said to himself. Suddenly a weird feeling spread all across his body causing his wings to spring open ,and the next thing he knows he's flying at top speed right toward Diamond Tiara. At full speed he tackled Diamond Tiara causing them both to barrel roll on to the ground ,pinning Diamond Tiara on her back. Diamond Tiara tried to slip out but Rumble was to strong. Then without yelling he sternly said to her ,right in Diamond Tiara's face. "I don't care if you are a girl but if you ever hurt Scootaloo again ,I'll make sure you physically will never be able to hurt anypony else ever again, understood." Diamond Tiaras eyes were wide open. "Answer Me!" He said more stern than before this time.

"Yes! I'll stop I'll stop, just get off of me!" Diamond Tiara screamed.

Rumble let go of Diamond Tiara and she cowardly galloped towards the schoolhouse to get Miss Cheerilee. He turned around to find that every filly and colt on the playground was wide eyed with Scootaloo's eyes being the most wide. Rumble walked towards Scootaloo to lend her a hoof up. Shocked, Scootaloo slowly lifted her hoof to Rumble allowing him to pull her up onto her hooves. Scootaloo stood silent ,staring right into Rumble's eyes with only a shocked expression on her face. Feeling awkward Rumble smiled at her and walked right towards his friends, all standing next to each other. They just stood quietly, staring at him. Rumble began to feel like he had just done something wrong. Then Featherweight began stomping his hooves ,then Pipsqueak began stomping and Sweetie Belle followed and suddenly every single colt and filly was stomping there hooves and cheering Rumbles name as he was called into the Schoolhouse by Miss Cheerilee. Although he knew he was in trouble Walked in the schoolhouse with pride and a smile on his face.

The school nurse came rushing to Scootaloo's aid and carried her into the nurses, all the while watching Rumble walk toward Miss Cheerilee ,with Diamond Tiara standing right next to her sticking her tongue out at Rumble. All Scootaloo could do was smile and whisper thank you as she was carried away.

Meanwhile about a hundred yards away a purple and green dragon stood on a hill ,processing everything he had just saw happen on the playground. He was astonished at everything that had just happened. All the ponies on the play ground went back to there classrooms. Spike had decided to stay in front of the classroom for the next two hours to talk to the Apple Bloom ,Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo about what had happened.
