The opportunity of a lifetime
Chapter I
Six o’clock.
“Shit” I muttered. Six O’clock only meant one thing.
Time for school.
Now while I usually don’t mind waking up early, school is the one thing that I don’t look forward to when starting a new day. I mean don’t get me wrong I love to learn, it’s just the unnecessary bullshit that I have to deal with every day that makes me hate school so goddamn much.
So, anyway I got out of bed and got dressed for school, uniform and all, and went upstairs to get some breakfast. After I ate I went to catch the bus and this kid who ran late every morning came running towards the stop in attempt to not miss the bus.
“Fucking dumbass” I thought. “Does it every morning and still doesn’t learn”.
The kid approached winded and breathing heavily. I still couldn’t grasp the subject of how he couldn’t come at least two minutes earlier and not have to look like a dumbass every morning.
After that the rest of my morning was uneventful, with me and the fuckwit who was at my stop getting picked up by the bus, and the ride to school wasn’t too eventful. Basically it was a same shit different day kind of deal. When we arrived to school I got off and walked to the entrance, when I made it I pulled on the handle.
“Locked. Shit”. Every time when the buses unload the door is fucking locked, even though they unload at the same time every day. The staff in the school still don’t open the door. I just don’t understand people; I just wish I could leave this planet once and for all. I mean with the shit going down currently in the world it’s only a matter of time before the fuse gets lit. I just want to go away to somewhere far somewhere like Equestria.
Ah yes, I forgot to mention that I’m a brony, and if you don’t know what that is, look it up, cause I’m not explaining it to anyone else.
The doors finally were opened, and I rushed inside to escape the cold weather that was fall. When I made it to my locker, my friend James came up to me.
“Hey Mason how you doing” He said.
“Fine” I grunted. I really didn’t want to talk right now and just wanted to get to class.
“Cool, well anyway I wanted to ask if you saw the new COD trailer today”. He said. The ass new that I didn’t care for Call of duty that much, let alone a new one, I knew that he was just fucking with me.
“James you know that I don’t give a single fuck about Call of Duty”.
“Well this one is different from the others” He replied.
“How so”.
“Because, in this one you can play as a dog”. He said. After he said that we both burst into laughter about the poor excuse for an idea.
“Well I have to go to class now, thanks for the laugh man”.
“Alright see you Mason”.
I then went into History class where we learned about how Korea was and still is the most invasion prone country in all of Asia, and how it’s the year 100 according to the “glorious leader” of North Korea. After that they day went by normally, and I went home. The bus ride was uneventful and the girl that I kind of liked wasn’t on the bus today, so there was no entertainment.
When I got home I told my siblings to stop playing and do their homework before mom got home. They continued to play, so I said fuck it and went downstairs to my room where all my entertainment was. I turned on the Xbox to play some Grand Theft Auto V just to find out that my Xbox live ran out today.
“Shit” I muttered to myself.
I then decided that since there was no more Xbox for me, that I might as well go outside and walk or something. I put my coat on and walked into the cold Maryland weather. Yeah, I’m from Maryland, you know the state above Virginia, on the East coast of the United States. Yeah that Maryland, and if you don’t know what a Maryland accent sounds like, it sounds like your typical American accent with a slight southern tone in there. Anyway, I decided to walk through the woods of my neighborhood.
That was the biggest fucking mistake I had made in my life.
Why you may ask? I’ll tell you why. It’s because I fell into a fifteen foot ditch that was steep as hell, and had no way of getting out. It was no use to even call out for help, because no one would hear me anyway, in this dense ass forest. And before you all say “just climb out Mason”. Fuck you. Do you know how hard it is to climb up a fifteen foot wall of mud without any support or grip? It’s pretty fucking hard. So I waited for about an hour to see if anyone would come. But of course no one did like they would in the movies.
“This blows” I said to no one I particular. “Just my luck to fall in a ditch in the middle of the damned forest, just my shitty luck”.
I decided to move my lazy-ass and explore the ditch, and find a place to dig out for shelter for the night, just in case if I had to. I wandered for a couple more yards, until I saw this small cave in the walls of the ditch. I went inside to see if it was safe enough for me to camp in, and to my luck it was. It was starting to get dark out here so I went into my makeshift shelter and slept.
I awoke to some rustling out in the woods and listened out closely. I heard a howling noise and my body clenched up in fear.
It was a wolf.
A wolf in Maryland.
Why the fuck was there a wolf here, and why did it have to be near me!
I stayed still for a while hoping that it would just go away, but then I hear something land in the ditch I was in.
Fuck. Why me.
The wolf then started to approach towards the cave; I then promptly said fuck this shit and ran from the cave faster than a kid on cocaine. I don’t condone the use of drugs I swear. After that I soon learned two things.
One: Don’t startle thing that have no clue where you are.
Two: Wolves are fast as hell.
The damned thing was one me in a second and was gaining on me with every stride. I tried to climb out of the ditch, only to remember that I couldn’t climb it at day, so why would I possibly be able to climb it a night.
Scared people don’t think.
I turned to fight the wolf and hopefully win.
Good thing to, because the thing lunged at me as soon as I did. I held its jaws away from my neck and pushed it off. My hands were bleeding from its teeth boring into them. It lunged again this time getting a successful bite in my calf.
I screamed. I screamed like a bitch.
The pain was like nothing that I had felt before; it felt like a big ass knife just cut my skin. In an adrenaline rush I punched the wolf I the head with all my strength, and that got it to let go of my leg. This time I lunged at the beast and got it into a grapple of some sort and wrestled around with it. The wolf squirmed and wriggled around in my arms, but I held still trying to squeeze the life out of it. It got loose and bit my arm, and then my leg again. I screamed in pain and rage, as I continued to kick it off my other leg, but it wouldn’t budge. I saw a rock next to me, and soon started to bash its head in with it.
After a few strikes it stopper moving, and with the adrenaline from the fight gone, I felt drowsy. I was losing blood, but was too tired to do anything about it. I drifted to sleep hoping to wake up tomorrow.
Beep. Beep.
I awoke to the sound of a machine going off. I opened my eyes to find myself inside a white room with a monitor next to me.
“Oh good I’m alive” I said to no one in particular.
I took in my surroundings, and noticed that this was not the emergency room that I was used to. This one looked more generic and retro.
Something else was odd to, there was no television like there usually is and the bed was not advanced at all.
Just where the hell was I?
