Written Script isn't exactly a struggling author, but he's certainly seen better days. His recent stories aren't exactly getting the publicity they need and his publisher is finding a rising star out of one of his biggest competitors. Written Script's closest friend and editor is there to help him get through these things, but he still is waiting for that big break, the thing that could make him Ponyville's, and possibly Equestria's, biggest writer.

When his editor gifts him a strangely ornamental notebook for the publication of a short story, Written Script finds his life changed, all with the stroke of a pen. They say the pen is mightier than the sword, especially so when all your thoughts and deepest desires are written down for all to see… and hear and feel.
